Well positioned in the quiet leafy top end of Bendigo, the Old Boundary Hotel is warm and inviting. A friendly greeting on entry we were given directions to the bistro then shown to our table. Lots to choose from on the menu catering for adults and kids very well. Meals were all excellent and the service was great. Highly recommended when in Bendigo.

We have a new favourite place for lunch - the Old Boundary Hotel, Bendigo!
Great service, amazing weekday specials and fantastic food!
I'm sure this will become a regular lunchtime place for us.
The entire hotel has a great vibe, particularly the glassed in "outdoor" area.

We had a delicious lunch of crumbed lamb cutlets and enjoyed every mouthful. Staff are friendly and attentive. Atmosphere in the Atrium area was peaceful and we looked into a rockery with green plants. I'd recommend booking as it does become busy.

Was a lovely venue. Food was spot on. Serves were just right. And we all enjoyed a wonderful meal. Oh and had very nice sweets to. Thankyou for a lovely evening.

The chicken burger was quite spicy and I’m pretty certain the brownie was just a Sara Lee chocolate pudding, which I could’ve got from the supermarket for a fraction of the price.

The ambience and feel of the place was very good. Visited Bendigo for the first time and this place was really the essence of the locality. Customer service was good and the staff were courteous. Only con is that the food took too long to be served. Maybe we went on a Sunday and that's the reason.

Scoping out Bendigo on a Monday night around 8pm in search of dessert.. this place delivered and satisfied the desire!

Probably my favourite hotel in Bendigo.
Beer kept perfectly and one of the best wine lists I have seen in a pub .
There is a great choice of food on the menu, which was superb.
This place is busy early evening during the week then less so after 8pm .
Would eat here again in heart beat

Our food last night was delicious, no complaints at all. Service was okay but our entree plates sat empty on the table for a long time before being cleared. We arrived early and were put at a table that was at a doorway and very uncomfortable. We were not given a choice but had to ask to be moved. We were okay at our chosen table until it became busy. People were almost sitting on our laps and suddenly the noise of so many people in such close proximity, competing to be heard, became extremely uncomfortable. It suddenly felt like an expensive cafeteria. Not the customers at fault but the extreme closeness of the tables. Ordering food at the bar, is also an issue in such a small space. We have always had great food at this hotel. Sadly for us, the problem is, so many tables are jammed in making it an uncomfortable experience.

Omg it has to be the best meal in Bendigo. I cannot complain about anything. Extensive menu, specials change regularly, the desserts are to die for. The chiefs are amazing and so is the staff. Been 4 times now and will continue to eat here. You won't be disappointed 😍

Lovely venue...1 part. Food very good. No background music. Toilet so small you could barely fit. No baby change facilities or designated space!

I walked in and was immediately welcomed by one of the friendly staff members.
The walls are covered with pictures of the old settler and gold mining days which creates a warm and friendly environment
Lots of brick walls and warm coloured timber
The menu has lots of variety and I ordered the crumbed lamb cutlets, the lamb and mash potatoes where sensational, however the rest of the vegetables were a little undercooked, which was a real shame (so I was heading for a 4/5)
Anyway, was still a bit hungry so I chose the lemon meringue pie which was great.
Nose pulled up 5/5
If I was a local Bendigese, I’d probably eat here often

I have been here multiple times, the food has always been spectacular, the staff have always been friendly, the atmosphere is perfect for families. What are lovely gem of Bendigo.
If you like mushrooms I highly recommend the bruschetta.
If you don't the stakes are phenomenal

I'd rate this as the best pub in Bendigo. The food is outstanding, lovely staff and good value prices. Amazing meals delivered quickly. Old Boundary is definitely our go-to

I could not fault the service here even though we were running a bit late, it was still service with a genuine smile and fast. The food was beautiful a lamb roast, chorizo goat sausage and garlic bread to die for.
And on top of that the atmosphere was lovely; massive wall print of days gone by, the memorabilia on the walls just wonderful and a real family feel. Well done.

Had lunch there a week ago with our motor club the food was ok,the service just ok , they gave my meal to someone else . It was very busy and by the time I received my meal all of our party had finished and ready to leave. Would I go back again sorry no.

Great place to dine at. Took my mum here for mother's day 2024 and we really enjoyed the food and atmosphere. Mum has the Beer Battered Flathead with vegies and chips, I have a Beef Buger and chips. Mum really enjoyed the fish and the Burger is in my top 5 burgers from a hotel menu. Great service and fantastic historical pictures decorating the place. Thanks Guys👌👌

Good fresh tasting food with many GF options. Desert was enjoyed. Can get busy so book for a table and may have a walk for parking.

Cheerful, helpful staff, lovely old pub with some modern features.
Plenty of choices on the menu, I chose the
slow cooked rolled lamb shoulder which was exceptionally tender & flavoursome, my wife had the seafood pasta which had a good mix of seafood ( thankfully no crab sticks), her comments were all positive.
We travelled from Melbourne to try out this hotel & were not disappointed, we look forward to returning soon.

Called up around 7pm on a Saturday night for 13. The staff were very accommodating and polite. Said they would try and fit us in, food was fantastic, service was very good as well. Highly recommend.

Best pub meal in years. I had the trio of sausages with horseradish mashed potato which was incredible & wifey had pork belly & by all accounts very nice. Side dish of Bricklane pale ale…in heaven. Do your self a favour & get in there!!

A quick trip up to Bendigo from Melbourne visiting some friends. They did rave on about the crumbed lamb cutlets at this place, so went there for lunch. Like to consider myself a bit of a foodie and can testify they were delicious. Can’t wait to have them again and try more things from the menu.
Nice old school historic Pub, service was very warm, welcoming and friendly.

Always a great spot for delicious meal or catch up with friends for a beverage. Perfect spot to watch the NYE fireworks at 9pm. Always Friendly and professional service.

Always a consistent meal - we buy a bottle of wine , saves trips to the bar - beautiful food and entrees , slightly noisy in attrium. Sorry but the aranchini was so nice we can only show you the clean plate - lovely period features in the building.

A great night, really good atmosphere. A popular place for everyone for dinner. A few things are tricky is parking on super steep hills & the narrow doorways in the building so with everyone waiting to be seated or ordering at the bar it gets really congested. Heaps of staff milling about the bar but would be good to have table service which would free up the walkways & people trying to decide who's ordering drinks or meals.
Will be back of course, was a delicious meal. 3rd time been here, 2nd time ordering a pie & I still haven't managed to finish one yet!

absolutely stunning meals - I had the lamb shoulder and my husband had the stuffed chicken. Stunning meals ! Gourmet and generous serving sizes. Here's a pic of the great dessert
