We were looking for somewhere to eat as we were staying overnight in Orange|Every hotel we went to was booked out. We had never eaten at the Royal Hotel previous and decided we would give it a try |We both had steak and salad. Steak was cooked just the way we asked. Meals came out very quickly and very reasonably priced. Bistro was very plesent and clean. Staff very accommodating. Would eat here again

We went for dinner last week.
I ordered a pineapple juice.
It's was off not fresh.
I told the man serving.
He didn't care he said that's all we got .
Wouldn't change it or refund the money.
Be careful ordering drinks.
Strange service.
Terrible.
The food is good.
No customer service.

We stayed in the hotel and 7am in the morning the construction started outside our window. Literelly there is a scaffolding outside the window. I gave 1 Star for service as I though they could of given us a room without scaffolding. I asked they were available. Otherwise pleasant for the price.

Very very basic! Bed was comfortable and there was heating and that’s it. Had a room with a weird open shower….
Shocking shared bathroom. Cheap for a one night stay when nothing else is available is the only reason you would stay!

This Hotel is great first time staying here the room was awesome value for money $75 with a shower n communal toilet n bathrooms down the hall the room was comfortable the bed and the linen was clean had a balcony you could go catch the view ..I went downstairs to the restaurant for dinner n ordered a T-bone steak n vegs amazing so delicious they had a band playing for a few hours”s but didn’t disturb me at all staying upstairs highly recommend this great hotel 🏨

The two ATMs here are now linked with TAB so one can withdraw/deposit money straight-out of their TAB accounts.
Nathan is one of the best staff on site so if you see him, greet the bloke!

The Royal is really well located in central Orange. It has plenty of rooms and the beds are pretty comfy. They are undergoing Reno's at the moment which means that parking and rear access is a bit of a nightmare. Unfortunately that does not make up for the fact that the furniture in the rooms is close to useless in that it is so old that it doesn't serve any purpose other than taking up room, the bathrooms have leaks and are not clean at all. There is however new capet which looks great.
The pub itself is pretty much a gambling pub and if that is your thing you will find it to be great. I did like the beer with breaky idea, perfect for a rainy weekend :-)

The mixed grill with chips and salad, wow, I split it with my hubby and we were both delighted and full. Throughly enjoyed it. Dianne gravy was delish. Lovely, friendly staff. Clean and tidy. I'd definitely come back again. Thank you

The dining room here is soulless - no atmosphere what so ever. Dirty carpets and no hand soap in the ladies toilet. Their only saving grace was the chicken caesar wrap - delicious. Others did not enjoy their meals ie: steak cooked incorrectly. Staff were doing their best but it would be at the bottom of my dining list next time l’m in Orange.

Stayed overnight good rooms for the price. Service from bar could have been better was not informed about exits entry point after hours exit and entry???? Leave at 5am how can you exit the premises???

Simply not the old pub it used to be when locally owned. Now it's just a pub.

Rooms pretty basic but the food was terrific and very reasonably priced. Breakfast was great, a must not miss!

Manager was racist. Racially profiled a Chinese patron and said he is “good with computers” he also slammed down the eftpos machine infront of him when the patron was struggling to understand. Horrible service. Wifi was down so I couldn’t pay eftpos and had to spend $2.90 to pull money out of the ATM. Do not recommend.

Location perfect. The room is great for the cost. Only complaint over deodorising.

I went there for lunch. The steaks were reasonably priced. My steak was cooked to my satisfaction. My 200g sirloin was delicious! Also the chips were really nice and i enjoyed the salad. We had the squid for entree and it was just delightful. I'd say the squid i've ever had. The atmosphere there was pleasant and had friendly staff. A big thumbs up!

I got what I paid for and didn't expect more. A basic 1 bed room which was clean and shared toilets and showers. Plenty of hot water with no wait, even though I was the first to shower.
Had dinner in the bistro and had a very nice, well prepared, tasty and well presented Parmi with mash and vegetables. Very big serve which I couldn't finish.
Good parking behind the bottle shop.

If you know the value of water and have any kind of environmental conscious DO NOT stay here. I thought there was no hot water but there was, it just took 8 minutes to run hot.
I booked a room with ensuite, it was dated as expected ($90/night) but clean-ish. The bed was made with sheets too short, the meal was below average, the people for the most part were lovely. Wifi doesn't work in rooms but does in restaurant and bar area. They were renovating when I was there in what sounded like the room next door, 7am -5pm sounds like hammer drills, saws and general construction noises. The walls are paper thin and with guests getting up at 4:30am it makes sleeping difficult.
10/10 for location and potential. 0/10 for effort and comfort.

I did not stay at the hotel but I ate there for dinner. I asked for medium 400g NY Sirloin and I was given which I believe was a 250g and was a medium well (not happy). The meat was dry also it seemed the chef cut corners by putting the food in a pan grill and then steaming the meat with water to make it cook faster. By doing this method the meat comes our dry and uneven.
The vegetables that came with it seemed to be frozen vegetables which you can buy from coles. The gravy seemed artificial too which taste similar to a Gravox.
I usually like pub food but the food was a disappointment and I also asked the lady at the counter telling her it is not a 400g steak and she told me it was.
I am a former chef and worked in kitchens for years and I have to say in comparison smaller pubs with a cheaper cost wise menu costs taste better than the food prepared by this place.
Don’t eat here the food is not worth the money as the chef or cook cut corners.

I booked through booking.com and my confirmation said 'breakfast included' but it wasn't. This is apparently some miscommunication between booking.com and the hotel. There was nothing wrong with the room itself, the beds were clean and comfortable. The shared bathrooms didn't smell great.||||You can poke holes in anything and it's easy to find problems but then this place was 20 to 30 dollars cheaper than most places we stayed during our road trip.||||I do sort of have a soft spot for places like this because when I was young these were the only places I could afford and therefore the only reason I could travel.||||So... not that regal but at least a roof over your head.

I booked a room but when I arrived they said that they didn't have my booking and had no vacancies. I booked a room elsewhere and the cheapest room I could find was $70 more. When I called agoda they said that the booking was confirmed after all so I ended up paying the extra $70 for no reason!

Everyone was very accommodating, free wifi helped with a bored teen. Everyone from the cleaning staff to the restaurant and bar staff were all super friendly and helpful. Really a fantastic place to stay. Close to all shops if you don't feel like driving.

Don't waste you money here, no matter how cheap. How do I start, first we booked two rooms for four people, and were given two single bed rooms, there was no water, shower or toilets in the rooms and the gross communal showers had no hot water. Then when I grabbed the kettle for a coffee hit, the kettle had mould growing in it and there was a dead spider sitting in the bottom of the kettle, this place is gross, better off going to the caravan park.

Didn’t stay the night, came up from Melb for a delivery to Orange. My godson was visiting mates and they took us here for feed for a hungry Truckie. The boys knew there grub, service in public was really great, got dinner too, food was perfect, .‘so all round for a quick feed and beverages, worth stopping by and giving this place a go…. Enjoy and leave feedbaack for the next lot the come through.

DELICIOUS!!! We hadn’t been for a number of years and wow what a lovely surprise. The waitress who took our order was very friendly and helpful with our menu change request, even the chef said it was not a problem.|Well i have to say the food was so tasty … great value also. I will be dreaming about my delicious caesar salad till the next time we come and as this will be our new local we will bring our friends!!! Great job for the beautiful kind service and outstanding food !!!

Attempted to eat a lunch special.....absolutely the worst meal I have ever been presented with......slab of dried out, extremely salty chicken snitzel with overly salted dried out old chips, no salad, no veg .... served very quickly within a couple of minutes, suggesting they were already pre prepared. Dirty tables, dirty toilets, never again.
