While the absolutely delicious pork belly was a little on the dry side, the flavour combination was a WOW! We were a part of a very large group, and our food was served was delivered efficiently. I sampled pork ribs that were absolutely melt in your mouth tender.
The service team was excellent.
It was very hot even inside the restaurant, and the condensation from the drinks kept running off the table onto my dress as the table was on a lean 🤣.
Overall, it was a fairly satisfying experience.

We were there for a lunch, with a good customer service the food is not that great, the size of the dishes are good but 2 out of 3 didn't enjoy the taste (including a couple of cokes). Unfortunately for us, we got a late feedback about the quality of the food. However, we want to give credit to the quality of the chips, they were very crunchy,

We visited again 24th September to give the pub another chance. And we were not disappointed this time. The feed was really good and we didn't have to wait long for it. Staff were really friendly and happy. I'll add photos of our meals. Only one thing was the floors were very sticky all through the place.
50 minutes for adults meals to come out kids meals came out 20mins apart (3 kids) will never come back here and would not recommend to anyone. And when kids meals come with veggies this is not what kids expect. Where are the potatoes carrots and pumpkin. What a wast of $85.

That the floor was filthy with something oily spilled all over it they didn't send out someone with a mop rather someone with tea towels. And also the bench seats where the kids sat was full of pens pencils crayons and food.

We have just had dinner here with the family, what an amazing place!! All the steaks were cooked perfectly and the chips were just delicious 😋 the kids also loved their meals and were over the moon with the free softdrink and ice cream that came with the Meal!!! Amazing live music on the night we attended also.

Spent a couple of hours here today enjoying the live music . My Son had the bbq meatlovers pizza which he loved, I tasted it and it was ok. My daughter had the chicken nuggets and chips which passed her test!! My wife and I enjoyed the buffalo wings with blue cheese sauce and the calamari. We love our wings and these were amazing and the blue cheese sauce was amazing and you could taste the blue cheese which is rare!! The calamari is also highly recommended, nice and tender with a tasty batter

We came here because we had a voucher to get one free main when one of the same value or more is purchased.
First of all it was hot. We were all sweating. Maybe some fans would be great. The overall atmosphere and furnishings etc were all nice.
The prices are a little high.
There were four of us and I was impressed that they brought all of our meals out at the same time (that seems to be hard for a lot of places)
The wait wasn't bad ether.
OK the food:
I had the chicken wings and they were good. Not overcooked or anything. They came with hot sauce and sour cream. It all just made me very thirsty and I don't think I'd get it again. Maybe if you're sharing with a group. The steak was huge and tender and everyone was happy with their meal. Also I feel this is important to mention. The lemon lime and bitters we ordered was nice and strong without us having to ask for it.
This was a nice enough experience except from the heat. And I saw on the menu that on Thursday nights I think it was, kids meals are $5 and there is face painting etc which sounds cool. I'm not sure I'd come back. We like to try new places and come back to the ones that stand out with amazing food and good prices since with a family it gets expensive. Nothing really stood out enough to bring us back again but if you want a good meal you'll have a good experience here.

Update: I have had to drop my review down to 2 stars tonight after I and a friend were given attitude from a seemingly new staff member for ordering kids menu items, something that we and many others have done for over a year now. We come here for a good time not to be judged and shamed. This has soured our experience and the usual high level of service we were used to.

I come here with some friends pretty much every Tuesday for Trivia and have been for over a year now. Pretty good atmosphere here with friendly staff. Decent food, bit pricey though in my opinion. Pictured: Chicken Schnitzel Burger for $22.

This was my first time coming to the Orion hotel with my wife. I booked at 7pm to try the Valentines specials. We ordered the Salmon En Croute and Beef Wellington. Our meals came out piping hot and were extremely delicious! My wife thoroughly enjoyed her meal which made the wait definitely worth it. Although the restaurant was very busy the staff did a great job handling the demands of the night and were still friendly. I look forward to my next visit.

The staff are always friendly and are keen to ensure your meal is as you ordered it. The blue cheese, pear and chicken salad was really tasty and was a generous serve. It’s always a great spot to eat with friends and walk away satisfied.

The service from the staff comes with no complaints. Friendly and helpful. The food on the other hand. Definitely needs improvements. The cooks needs to taste their own food and check the coleslaw before serving it up onto plates.
This place is great for a beer or 3 with an after work drinks environment.
The food is — Typical pub grub which was pretty nasty but if you’ve had a few you wouldn’t know any different.
Would rush to visit again.

So I'm reviewing on behalf of two other guests. Their feedback is that the food was good and not bad, the steak was nice.
Our charred corn side was great. And the veggie side was also nice. Kids meal, with drink and soft serve was a good deal & nice veggie options for kids.
However my meal wasn't great. The calamari was a bit floury/powdery. The chips weren't so crispy but I'm told this is typical beer style or something. And the sauce was so sweet, it was a little odd but not so bad that you'd complain. However in hindsight some basic tartare would be great 😂
Extra star for great clean and enclosed playground & friendly staff. The security who check your covid tick are also great! Nice sense of humor and friendly ☺️

Probably the worst pub grub I've eaten, apart from a cheap steak in the city. The pizza was as good as a frozen McCain's (not complementary). Had a so so vibe, staff, well, so so.

Probably should have checked the google reviews on this place. Everyone at the table was fairly put off from the staff. Quite short and rude “snarky” when placing orders. Pretty much every meal came out cold. Some sent back and have forgotten to come back after 30mins. The coleslaw was old. The steaks on the menu weren’t available till next week. Over priced and the food was fair at best. These pics are some of the meals we’ve ditched.

Overall, this is a great place to hangout and get food/drinks. Have had brunch with friends here and the food and drinks are great. The seating and getting food/drinks to the table was extremely confusing, but the workers were nice about helping when we went to ask. Coming here at nighttime during the "nightclub time" is interesting, the music is decent and service is good, however the place is a bit disgusting typically with sticky floors outside and dirty looking carpet inside. For this area, you can't beat a nice little restaurant like this with decent prices and good drinks.

Never disappointed with the food or service. Staff are always smiling and friendly. I had my baby shower at Orion hotel in December. Platters were delicious and very worth it. Highly recommend

Jaq (female) was absolutely FANTASTIC this evening. So efficient with getting us our beverages, and so lovely and kind. Absolutely gorgeous human!!! I would be surprised if the rest of the staff aren’t in love with her, because I definitely am!!!!

It was a very busy Sunday lunch - we had booked a table of 14 - the chefs and waiters did a great job - all the food was great, grilled barramundi a little dry, but it's a dry fish- thanks for helping us have a great belated birthday !

I haven't ordered food here so I haven't given a rating. I have attended functions that were catered and it was the usual deep fried fare. The service is good, staff are helpful. The venue is conducive to good networking and presentations. Set away from walk in traffic it's a good little spot. Access to Coles and the underground carpark immediately outside.

Had the pleasuring of having my 30th birthday party at the Orion Hotel. We rented out the sports bar and some of the sports deck. What a great space. All our guest had an amazing time. Great staff and a great vibe at the hotel. On the night Good Vibes were playing on the stage. My guest were all up and dancing from when they started at 6! Thanks Orion for making my 30th a night to remember.

Great place to go for a drink.
The atmosphere is great, there is love music, food was great and steak was cooked spot on. Will definitely go for another date night there.
Only had one problem with one of the bar staff. (I'm still vaguely annoyed by it, if it had of prompted me for a review on a day or two I probably wouldn't have given it a thought and not mentioned it tbh however I'm still annoyed )
She misheard my husband order our drinks and thought he said rum instead of bourbon.
If she had of said he ordered a beer or a whiskey or something T least one of us drink I would have given her the benefit of the doubt. But in the 24yrs I have known him he has never ordered a rum. Not even once. Neither of us like the drink. So he definitely didn't say it. He noticed what she was pouring and corrected her before she mixed the drinks, she insisted he said rum, he explained he never drinks that, its nit something he orders, he wouldnt have said. She looked at me and I said no he didn't ask for rum. He did say bourbon. I heard him say it and again, never orders rum. She was obviously put out and he apologised and got our drinks. Next time I went to the bar I was in line behind a young bloke for awhile. Just as he was walking away another lady turns up next to me, the chick behind thw bar happened to be the one from earlier, she went to come to me to serve me (she knew I had been there awhile, apparently it hasn't registered who it was though or something) she looked at me, hesitated and went over to the other lady first. It was rather rude. Another chick came over to serve me after I stood there for another five minutes.
Other than that one encounter though it is a great place to go fod a drink.

Great atmosphere for everyone! The variety of food caters for everyone but at a very reasonable price. Bang for your buck 👍🏾 The 1kg of chicken wings for $15 with the hot sauce was zesty and had a mild zing. The staff are very friendly and polite. Bring your friends or your family, you can’t go wrong with the Orion Hotel. Keep up the good work team.

For lunch I ordered the porterhouse steak, cooked medium. What I got was a porterhouse steak cooked medium, but burnt on the outside so all I could taste was charcoal. I also don't understand why when I order a side of gravy I get a tiny ramekin that isn't even big enough to be able to use for the side of chips, let alone use for the burnt steak.
Although it has a great atmosphere, this isn't enough to make up for the quality of food

On request of the manager on duty to review my review after going and attempting to locate myself, starting the conversation off rather aggressive it would seem, when the manager was informed that the night began with a missed place booking then proceeded into us being given 26 chairs for a 30 person booking, they where asked if more seating was available then meet with a foul tone of 'well do you really need 30, is everyone actually going to show up', staff where responded to with yes all 30 people are hear right now. A solution was made with a camp pop up table for the children to sit around.
Regards to the food orders..... I am assuming that because the booking was lost the kitchen was not prepared for it, reason being of the 6 meals missing, 3 seperate orders, 3 meals from those orders where actually brought out, the reason we where given that the orders did not come out was because the tickets to the kitchen did not print, I take my hat off the the kitchen for having telepathic ability to read the orders of the the people that managed to come out.
The meals did come out eventually, approximately 1 hr after everyone else(who ordered after us at the same table) received theirs, there was a offer to rectify mistake with free entree's ( the entree's from the missing order had still not come out) which was declined, then offer of drinks ( we had already received offer of free soft drink for previous error). The suggestion from us was to receive a discount on the meal, not a full refund as we where informed that the food was coming. When told the food was being prioritsed we asked that the kids meal missing and a particular entree meal for another child be priority above ours as it was now 830 and the children had not received their meal. 1 of the children's meal was prioritsed the other came out last after the missing adult meals came out.
We where offered $200 voucher to use on our next visit ( I'm sorry with that amount of mistakes throughout the night do you really think we will return) we informed the staff member that we are from 3 different families, 3 vouchers where presented ( I'm not sure they understood that we would not be returning so much so that at least one of the vouchers was discarded based on that fact so in reality paid for extremely poor service)
Then to have the manager ask us to review the review ( my understanding from this, take it down)
This is a further reflection of the poor service of the venue, from the discussion disclosed the only concern of the manager was ' did everyone get their meals in the end' yes we did but what a mission it was to get it, I understand that we are moving to a self serve society but I did not think that involved restaurants also.
My review remains but under request of the manager I have reviewed that review.
Take it as you wish after reading this review but this was our experience. And because of that experience our future events for special occasions will not be conducted at this venue.

Apparently when you book 2 weeks in advance and they forget your booking and then double book it's not their problem. Was going to hold a few birthday events this year. Might try Falveys instead
Food slow to come out.
And also not come out, 6 meals no show.
Rectification with a voucher to the place, kinda pointless no one in their right mind would return to poor service like this.
Honestly complete joke at this place. Walk away. Walk away
