Woke Sunday morning at 8am to the sound of like a leaf blower roaring at the front of our room being used by the yardman. Not to mention intoxicated yelling once the bar closed. Otherwise it was a pleasant stay. I'll be back!

Went there for a drink mid afternoon and returned for dinner that night. On the day we went the music in the bar was way too loud and we were going to leave but noticed the dining lounge next door which was much better. The service was friendly and like most places the staff seemed to be backpackers so were interesting to talk to.|The meals were plentiful and of quite a good standard. I had the Angus steak which was cooked to medium rare like I had asked. My wife had the roast pork and said it was delicious.|I would definitely return.

Went for lunch to try the new menu. Big group. Food came out in a reasonable amount of time but dishes were hit and miss for our crew. Chips were yellow so oil needed changing and chicken thighs were undercooked in spots. Not in a hurry to go back.

Very poorly serviced room. I don’t think it had been used in years. The fridge was not plugged in and had defrosted completely. The TV was not working - oh shock horror- the 2 plugs were unplugged but were located behind the fridge!! So I pulled the fridge out and plugged them both in. Water everywhere. Lights not working.
There were very few powerpoints available for phone chargers etc.
The bathroom power points were our of order and very unsafe.
This unit was in very poor condition and needs to be upgraded before hiring out again.

This motel is great if you're staying in Mt Isa on business and need a place to sleep. Checking in was great and efficient and easy to find. The room was clean even though dated but I wasn't looking for 5 star and I wasn't disappointed at all with the cleanliness. My room had a TV, tea and coffee facilities as well as a microwave and fridge. The motel is quiet and though the rooms look as though you'd hear the neighbours, I didn't nor the pub next door.

Still a great place after 45 years, when i was last there. The meals were excellent and all 4 of us loved them. The staff were very helpful and the locals very friendly

Rooms need up grading for the amount you pay, service is good, location reasonable.

Rooms are in desperate need of a revamp. Shower door won't open fully, hot and cold water symbols were on the wrong taps, tiles had grout smeared from a trowel- covering about a quarter of the floor yet there were still floor tiles missing. No spoon for hot drinks and rear patio hadn't been cleaned - empty plastic drink bottle and garden debris. Rear door and window need replacing. Unsure if there is a maintenance man but 1 is definitely needed!
If you're just interested in a comfy bed and carport however, this is it!

Really have to go out of your way just to get there. The food is really good and worth the trip however going at night for drinks isn't worth it. Drinks are expensive, not a cosmetically appealing location and the music is awful.

No a bad pub. Good sports bar and $7 schooners. Outside could do with a touch up but still enjoyable

Nice tasty meal and good size.
We had 3 steak meals, chips and veg.
Staff very friendly and helpful.
Beer lovely and cold.

My name's Steve Sloman and stayed in room 12 here nearly 3 weeks ago. There was no hot water in our room. When getting into bed our donna had patches of bed and dirt over it. I had broken down in the main street and had phoned reception to pass a message on to my wife to inform her where I was so she wouldn't panic. They did not do this and my wife panicked in my absence. I would definitely not recommend this place to anyone.

My favourite night spot hands down.
Food is decent and reasonable price.
Service is usually top notch.

Management are very rude. My partner had his mask pulled down for a second and the management yell and I mean yell across the room 'put your mask on properly!' Fair enough to enforce it but the way she went about it was very rude and when we spoke to her about that it was rude to yell across the room like that she said if we don't like it we should leave.The food is good and priced well but the service received makes me give it a 1 star.

I came here to watch the footy, they put it on for me and i enjoyed the first 3 quarters. But then another customer requested something else, they changed the tv, didn't speak to be at all, and put my match on a TV that I could barely see, pretty disappointing!

I booked 2 rooms (1 double & single beds in each room) . straight after booking I called them to tell them I would be checking in late because me and my family will be travelling from Darwin. They reassured me that, thats ok and everything with will ready. So I go to pay for my room as soon as we arrive, the lady gave me my keys and that was it. My first room was good, my second room on the other hand was missing the single bed. I called reception to let them know, the lady said that the bed was faulty (loose screws) and she will call me back when they find another extra bed, the lady called back and than told me that the guest before us ,had really done damage. All of this is happening at 12am at night. I called them a couple of times and no answer! Nothing!! So my child had to end up sleeping on the floor!!
I wouldnt be complaining like this, if the reception lady just told me that the room is missing a bed (they had a full day to get a bed in that room!) So the next day I call reception to complain about them not getting back to me and the guy automatically offered me a refund of my money, it's like they deal with this alot and he knows. Anyways I want to the reception desk and the money was left on the counter with a note! Like very unprofessional! Somebody could have and seen that money and stole it, they was too coward to face me! I was furious about my child sleeping on the floor and I didn't get what I paid for! Also some other guests car was in my parking spot

Great new bar staff have been employed here giving the place a great new vibe. Lunch and dinner are both great value. Need to get eft put at the bars so customers don't get charged $2.50 to get your own money out.

Food is top rated in my opinion. Had T bone with mash and veg. Corn on cob was 👌. All veg felt steamed not boiled and were crisp the way veg should be. Outside undercover dining was a pleasant experience. Had a game of pool (3 tables to choose from).

Don’t stay.
First room allocated, the window fell out when I tried to lock it. I requested a new room. Bin still had rubbish in it,
shower had rubbish in plug hole, toilet seat had what looked like spots of dried vomit on the seat. Rubbish bin in bathroom totally rusty. Food was not that good either. Overall feel from staff is that no one cares. Wouldn’t go back.

Cant comment on the rooms as we didn't stay here. Location is good as we could walk here from the Argylla caravan park.
Service is poor. Very slow.
Food is average, just don't order from the specials unless you want to have a second meal later.

Can’t comment on rooms as I didn’t stay here but the pub and food aspect was well below average
Staff were very rude and dismissive, both on the phone when booking and in person. Bar staff didn’t know the difference between a pot and a pint and even after explained to her she continued to try and pour a pot, seriously come on!
Food was edible but nothing exciting and certainly won’t return to spend any more money here
Only decent part was the Friday night meat raffle we won
Wouldn’t waste my time when only a minute down the road the Buffs club is consistent, staff are lovely and the food is delicious
Keep driving past and do yourselves a favor by going to the Buffs honestly

Big sign outside Overlander Hotel, steak lunches,$13.90. Thought, you beaut!! Went in and when we ordered were told, sorry, out of steak. No alternative comparative meal was offerred. Not good. Wont be back.

At the restaurant/pub it's great value for what you receive. Meals are at affordable prices with a variety of specials changing each day. The quality of the food is perfect for just a casual lunch/dinner. You even receive a $2 pokie voucher for each meal. It's my favourite place to go when I just want a quick meal and casual quiet hangout place. The outside seating area is fully covered and inside is air-conditioned. Would recommend if you're after a nice, cosy, quiet casual lunch/dinner that's affordable for the whole family.
