Low-key rooms, a modern restaurant & a bar in a casual hotel set in a 19th-century building. Dating from 1865, this informal hotel with verandas overlooking Robertson Park is 3 km from Orange Botanic Gardens and 10 km from Lake Canobolas. Wow, what an absolute find! This gem of a place is exceptional value for money. One of the best places I have ever stayed by far. Quiet yet central to Orange. Check in was quick and really efficient. The room we stayed in was huge and spotlessly clean. The bed was the most comfortable I have ever slept in. Extras in room including juice and good quality snacks were all included. The bathroom was updated. We heard no noise from the pub downstairs at all. The meals in the pub were great too. The huge public car park next door made parking a breeze. Forget the more pricey options in Orange because they couldn't be better or more comfortable than the Parkview. Thanks to the staff for making our stay so lovely.

We stayed in December 2023 and were pleased to get a room away from the busy street and beer garden. Unfortunately we were woken up at around 11pm with two guys trying to break into our room via the roof of the building next door. We tried to contact reception via the phone number provided (no phones in the rooms, so on mobile) and were greeted with a recorded message stating to go online if we wanted to book a room. Phoned 000 after this as the guys were still on the roof trying other rooms, went downstairs to meet the police and the security literally told us we shouldn’t have contacted the police as it could affect their license. I appreciate that this is mostly out of their control but the fact they were unreachable during the incident, followed by being berated by security for contacting the police means we will never return. Please be wary when booking.

Went to the Parkview today to meet up with friends who are back in town for Christmas. The beer garden is great but for some reason food was not allowed or being served outside today. I can't fathom why a pub would not want to serve food in their most popular area on one of the busiest days.
To start off with, this is against RSA best practices and will almost certainly lead to more alcohol related incidents. In addition to this, they would have lost revenue and customers by not serving food where they were enjoying the venue.
It's a great venue otherwise but this really let down the experience today.

We had dinner here last week. I was promised "The best chicken schnitzel in town" if this is the best I would hate to see the worst. The actual restaurant is ok, however there was a big group of people near us and others who were standing at their table drinking and being very loud and blocking the walk ways. The staff did nothing about this. Service was good, the staff who took the orders were nice and the food came out fast, maybe a little too fast. The steaks my friends had seemed....Ok...Nothing great. My chicken schnitzel did not taste fresh at all, it was hard to cut and and hard to chew, which tells me that this chicken had been frozen. I think you guys can do better. Also, this place allows smoking inside the pokies room and the whole place did stink of smoke. I know this is a country town and people here might have lower standards when it comes to food etc. but you guys fell way short of the mark.

Super busy pub with a massive beer garden. Food is great. An awesome place to sit back and unwind with friends and family.

Stayed at Parkview a few months back and was definitely worth it! Lovely spacious room with modern amenities. The fairy lights around the hotel were beautiful and the overall location was very convenient!
Only down side was that leaving early morning is a bit difficult. Couldn’t get out to my car the back way as doors were locked so had to lug all my bags around the block in the freezing cold to get to the car. Would also be nice if there was more cover over the window as the slats still let a fair bit of light through. Also couldn’t find a key drop off point for early leavers.
Otherwise great though!

Renovated spacious rooms in Victorian Era hotel pub. Rooms are accessed by stairs only. Although our room was above the pub, it was very quiet. Very clean room with modern ensuite. Thick supersized bath sheets but no hair dryer. Mattress was softer and more plush than expected but felt very comfortable and enjoyed a good night's sleep. Wifi was good but tv remote buttons were finicky. Hallway was wide and spacious, acting like a lounge area with access to a guest dining balcony overlooking the lovely pub beergarden. All very nice.
The pub was enjoyable too with reasonably priced good food. I was very happy with my T-bone.
Street parking only. We came on a Friday evening so street parking was full near the hotel. We moved our vehicle closer after pub patrons left later in the night.

My partner and I went for dinner. He had the Sunday roast which was very well priced and the servicing was very generous! He couldn't finish it. I had the Parky Pokè Bowl and it was absolutely divine and also generously sized. The service was really great too. We will be back on our next travels. Thanks you!

I have been dropping into the Parkview for years. Best pub food, almost an insult calling it pub food! Staff are also amazing and rooms are spacious and very clean.

Great sized room, very clean and all amenities. Only would say the room was a bit noisy in the evening due to patrons, but great otherwise

Great local bistro with excellent service and food!
They have good value weekday specials. The steak is cooked perfectly. The schnitzel is generous. I come here often.

Great food and great atmosphere. Really enjoyed this place. Nice and roomy outside area to just chill with mates and listen to some music . Will come back again for sure

Friendly staff and lovely renovated rooms with ensuite which is unusual for a pub. My room was very quiet even with a noisy mob downstairs in the front bar. Room did not have a desk to work from and the view out of the window was a brick wall but for the price and comfort I am not complaining. I Would happily stay again.

Fantastic place to stay. Simple, elegant rooms and super friendly staff. Best pub food in town and close to everything you need to access. Will be back to stay there again!

Enjoyed the restaurant facility with family while in town and thoroughly enjoyed the meal, as did everyone else in our group. Every bit as good as it had been years ago before we relocated on the coast.

Came here for my birthday dinner. Absolutely delicious. Great huge beer garden, along with many places to drink and/or eat. They're not big on selling shots, although this might be state mandate.

A great little pub in the heart of Orange. The staff at the bistro are really good, being welcoming, attentive and efficient. We grabbed a quick drink in their beer garden, which was large and spacious. The food was delicious, better than your average pub grub. Serving sizes were larger than expected and prices represented good value.

Absolutely fantastic country pub. Simple but nicely renovated rooms (ours had a view over the park). Little sitting area outside of rooms & access to upstairs balcony overlooking the beer garden. The staff were very friendly & accommodating & Kerry our cleaning lady was very nice too. Will definitely stay here next visit to Orange.

2 night stay had a great meal 1st night, fantastic location especially for a first time visitor. Room was clean the only downside was the beds not the most comfortable. Would definitely recommend to anyone visiting.
