Went there for lunch had the best Berger in ages. Will be back for sure. Because we couldn't go where we wanted for my birthday dinner witch was the Italian cottage because they were closed and we weren't notified even though we had a booking .we went to pedan's hotel for dinner and food was great.

Went here for dinner, one of my fav local pubs for dinner as food is always consistent and hot and fresh. Was disappointed that I'd got my food and eaten 1/3rd of it before having to go up to the bar about a QR drink order had not even been prepared yet and brought over considering that was ordered before our food. Kitchen staff are great but the bar staff could definitely have a bit more of an idea and training so disappointed about that.

Went for dinner in the Bistro. The service, the meal and the atmosphere were all terrific.

We just called in for a few drinks and a quick bite to eat. The staff were polite and service was quite good. The food was nice too. It's quite nice and big inside the bar area. Worth visiting.

We had a meal there as were visiting the area for a few days. Initially impressed by the decor and friendly staff but the dinner was disappointing. Husband ordered the special premium dry aged steak which turned out to be very tough and overcooked from his request for rare. My stuffed chicken was raw and I had to return it. After waiting 40 minutes for a replacement, this one was just cooked through. It was very tasty but raw chicken is not a acceptable offering in a restaurant.

We did not stay here so don't know about the accommodation. The bistro food was very good, reasonable and a daily special, great value and the trivia was a lot of fun. The service and staff were excellent. Went to Cessnock for three nights and it was so good here we eat there two nights. There is plenty of parking behind the pub.

Very disappointed ☹️ thought I would have something light, had the popcorn chicken on the special menu. It was special alright it was tiny little dry pieces of burnt tasteless chicken on a little bed of limp rocket leaves. Should have taken it back but ran out of time as we were heading to my granddaughters dance concert.

Tidy pub, pleasant staff. Haven't tried the restaurant but always looks packed. H

The venue was quite but yet our food was cold, horrible food and the staff we extremely rude. Wouldn’t recommend. Not going back.

The restaurant serves magnificent dishes. We come here specifically to enjoy the food. The lovely older crowd make it charming; It would be a treat to hear some Bing Crosby or Jimmy Durante being played more often, to please the older generations ears. We do wish that some grown ups would have more discipline over their children, however, and disallow them from running around the restaurant and play area bare-foot, as such ill-behaviour is both rude and unhygienic; it is a restaurant, after all, and not a fry-shack by the seaside.

The food was simply a disaster. Lamb cutlets were so overcooked they were rigid and crunchy on the inside, as for the burger...maccas standard of mediocrity. I guess we all have a bad day, but this was a doozy.

The food took over an hour to come out (ordered at 7:10, arrived at 8:12), although we were a large group, people who ordered after us got it much before we got our food. Additionally, when we ordered drinks, we ordered a jug of sprite and jug of coke yet we received 2 jugs of sparkling water. Jeremy was rather rude and impatient with us when we told him we had ordered sprite and coke, he just told us to take it. He then told us afterwards that the sprite machine was broken hence why we didn’t receive sprite. The servers were nice though.

Still a great place to eat. I really wish they would move the smoking area from the middle of the bar though.

Spontaneous trip to Cessnock & we were stoked to score a room upstairs. Great value, comfy beds, clean & tidy. Pub itself has awesome staff, well priced drinks & a really fun, welcoming vibe. Thanks guys!

Passing through on our road trip and pleasantly surprised. Perfect for what we needed. The staff are really nice and we have no complaints.

One star for the sports, none for the rest. Worst flat white ever, $26 pizza made with a supermarket base, and staff so busy eating candy and watching sports that we had to watch our empty plates for 1.5 hours until we left. Pretty sure they’ll still be there tomorrow

Not a nice place to stay room are out dated holes in the walls no tv in room not quite hear at all, everything, shared bathroom others guesses dirty towels on floor, kitchen full of dishes, not tea or coffee, the only good thing about it was the bus station up the road to get out of there,

Looks fancy for a place in Cessnock which is great to see.
The food was OK, just OK.
I had the Eggplant schnitzel made vegan and it wasn't too bad, my wife had the corn friter burger which was quite nice.
Out friend had a cob loaf and it was bread and cheese, seemed as if there was no dip in it at all, very hard to eat.
It's great to see vegan options on the menu so thank you.
Also the service was a bit average, the lady that took our order was a little rude.

Had fish of the day. Absolutely amazing. Fish moist, cabbage shredded, flavours complement each other. It's a must try for fish lovers.

Good atmosphere not to busy on a Friday night little wait for food but manageable, good sized parmi and lots of options for acceptable price. Would come back. Easily accessible with front street access to sports bar and large carpark behind with direct access to bistro and bar.

Friendly staff and the meals came quick on a very busy service! Loved the meals very fresh and the sauces were yum! Recommend highly!

Dined at Pedens Hotel for dinner. Must say when we arrived it was very busy, our group proceeded to order our meals at 6:30 with a wait time of 45 minutes. Around 7:15 the bistro started to become quiet. Our meals started to arrive at 7:30 one by one. I ordered the entree of arancini balls and mains of the pulled pork burger and pork belly. Our 3 meals didn’t come out until 7:45 along with the entree that is meant to be a starter meal. Pulled pork burger was average, the pork belly was underwhelming as the meat was extremely fatty and the sauce was way to rich and arancini balls were dry and a very small serving size considering they were $15. Service was poor, atmosphere is ordinary, simply do not recommend!

Both my and my friends chicken was cold and dry, the “garlic prawn topped” was literally so flowery and under cooked. The pizza is majorly cheese with once piece of meat on each slice (meat lovers pizza) the “cob load” was literally a cob of bread with melted cheese on top. I would not recommend eating here. The gravy was lumpy like it was re heated in a microwave only good thing was my friends pepper sauce other than the fact it has capsicum in it.

A nice large, modern, and clean venue, with easy parking out the back. Staff were friendly and helpful, and food was quick to arrive once ordered. Lots of good choices on the menu, but the food was a little underwhelming overall - it tasted fine, but the presentation was lacking somewhat, made it unappealing. Easy to get around, a little kids play area which still suited young kids, and plenty of beer options to choose from. Overall it was enjoyable.

Accommodation review only -
Smelly stuffy room with poor lighting and the most uncomfortable bed ever.
Absolutely impossible to block out the music blaring in the pub downstairs until 1.30 am. So loud!
Noisy location with late night revellers on the street below.
Below average amenities and staff at the pub on check in not very friendly. Even at under $100p/n I cannot recommend.
Will not stay here again.
