What can I say, I organised to have my brothers memorial at the Peninsula Tavern as this was a place not only familiar & close to all who knew & loved him, but in all honesty, we (my brother & I) grew up there, quite literally! I can’t thank Hannah & Helen enough for all that they’ve done, it was an amazing day & Hannah was THE most amazing host for us on the day. We got to farewell my brother with the intimacy required & with heartfelt service along the way. No matter what you might require a venue for, the Peninsula Tavern is definitely your go to place. Once again, I can’t thank you enough! Many thanks to you all. 🩷

Well below average, old, rundown, smells like old socks, low class crowd. The only reason to come here is if you're an alcoholic with nowhere else to go. Should be shut down and bull dozed. Definitely detrimental to the neighbourhood.

We came for a pub atmosphere and the Peninsula Tavern ticked all the boxes! Excellent local pub, very tasty burgers, very friendly staff, great prices. Perfect for those who want a no-frills pub experience. Will be back!

Used to be my local. The boi^s @ the BWS are lovely, swing past the TAB, chillin, but these days I do a walk thru the public bar, scan the beer garden and it's flat, grey. It's not got a vibe. Staff still sweet, I think they just banned too many people all the funsters have left the building.....

Used the BWS drive thru bottle shop and service was fairly slow for only one other car in front of me. 2 staff members serving people. Prices were good however.

The first time I went there last week, I instantly met the locals and made some friends. Decent beers, I don't eat meat, but they did free sausage rolls & party pies for everyone to nibble. It's very rare these days for such kind hospitality. Top service from a very cheerful bartender, I believe his name was Alex but his name tag was very worn from years of loving his job. Two pool tables, BWS drive through attached, and a bin named Thor, to any Marvel fans that get this pun. They are worthy! 😉

Such an authentic and "local" pub. It hasn't been renovated in years and adds to his charm and ambiance. I actually liked it. Lots of memorabilia and old stuff to admire whilst having a drink and a feed. I had a rose outside. Lovely people (locals) were here enjoying the afternoon. Dogs allowed in the outdoor fenced area/smokers area. TAB also provided.

Not a bad pub, kids tuckshop style food on Woolworths hamburger buns, eat from the vending machine save the trip.

Look, its unpolished.... but truly that's its charm. If you need to kill an hour or three, they have cheap drink specials every day, clean loos, decent music, friendly clientele and (without a doubt) the freshest and most delicious BLT you've had in ages. Promise :)

I recently celebrated my birthday in the function room, and it was an absolutely fantastic experience! From the moment we arrived, the staff made us feel welcome and ensured that everything went smoothly. We loved the retro vibe of the pub, the atmosphere is perfect for any celebration. There’s plenty of parking and a good variety of well priced food options. The service from Helen and Hannah was outstanding - attentive and friendly, making sure we had everything we needed, even organising someone to sort the music out for us! I highly recommend this pub for any special occasion or just a great night out. We’ll definitely be back!

Incredible service from the two women working last night! Very cosy atmosphere where everyone is made to feel welcome. Didn't eat so can't comment on the food.

I love pubs like this. Local and stuck in a retro cool vibe. It's a locals pub. You can still turn up in your tradie uniform, and still chase a joker. Most pubs like this in areas like this, ultimately turn into trendy hubs after a make over. Yet, it's getting harder now to find those classic taverns in the burbs. Love em or hate em... they are still needed.

I had my 50th birthday at Peninsula Tavern in the Nelson room. At first glance this room is dated but the space is really well set out with a large bar area, dance floor with party lights and disco ball, sound system, ample chairs and tables, and a fabulous break out area with lounges and event room specific bathrooms. I had around 90 people but we could have comfortably had up to 200. There is loads of parking behind the venue for guests and a door into the event room so guests don't have to walk through the main front bar. The bar staff were friendly and efficient, the event coordinator was so helpful and accommodating, and management were really intent on making sure we had all needs met and the function went smoothly. The customer service in this place is faultless. They allowed me into the room days beforehand to set up tables and chairs, and the day before to decorate, and that morning to meet up with companies setting up the dancefloor and sequin backdrop which reduced the work I had to do on the day of the party. They also allowed me to leave the pack up till next morning which was so much better than the end of the night. The only thing I'd give feedback on is the hot food platters need more variety and a few fancier options, but what came out was really delicious and enjoyed by all. I also think in summer some airconditioning over the dancefloor area might be required. I highly recommend this room to anyone wanting to book an event, it is a room with loads of potential when you have the creativity to decorate it well. Thank you so much to staff and management for faultless service on the night of my event, all guests are speaking highly of the venue.

I go to the drive thru. There are two pouch wines i buy. One is a sav blanc from south island new Zealand. The other is a Chardonnay from the murray River region. They are both a great buy.

Good cheap beer. Spinning wheel competition was on so when you buy a beer they spin it and you can when free vouchers up to about $100 or a free pint of beer. Has a small take away bottle shop there also. Been a couple of times. It's a little ruff around the edges. Don't wear you suit or ballroom dress and you should be ok.

A true blue Aussie pub with a great atmosphere, very well laid out and well run. We were there on Thursday night for their spin the wheel give aways and had an absolute ball. Happy hour is Monday to Thursday from 4.30pm till 5.30pm. Bulmers cider goes down from $11.50 to $6 a pint during happy hour. On Thursday every purchase from 5pm till 6pm gets a free raffle ticket. Then from 6pm till 7pm, Roger the manager draws as many tickets as he can. You can win all sorts of prizes from a whole cooked roast chicken, to a $100 bottle of spirts from the bottle shop. Only 1 golden egg $100 bottle a night is given away, but lots of drinks, whole chickens, Jagger bombs and bottles of wine given away. I had 4 tickets and won 2 x middys, which I turned into a free pint of Bulmers cider. Very happy. Pub is in a very good location with lots of parking and right across the road from the Maylands train station. Well worth a visit and we enjoyed it so much, we stayed much longer than we had planned. Two really nice pool tables for $2 games of pool and free pool tables all day Sunday. Limited food menu but nice chicken and hamburgers for only $8, which is great value. Allow extra time when you visit, because you won't want to leave.

A back to basics pub without pretention, cheap drinks, decent pool tables (free on Sunday) and some good banter. So much better than noisy brass and glass places with overpriced drinks.
