What a nice surprise! We were looking for a last minute hotel during a hazard reduction in our area. Despite having a nice big bar and it was footy night, the room was tidy, clean and very quiet. Additionally the price was very convenient and not over priced. I will definitely recommend it to friends and family coming to town.

Went above and beyond. Very quiet but could use sound proofing as you can clearly hear guests next door. Very difficult to tell the time without a clock which is good and bad. Food was edible but not to die for. Could be more accessible but best hotel I’ve been to in the area. Well done.

They are just a scammer mate. If you buy a drink and stay for a long time, they will just snatch your drink and throw out of the pub. Scammer..... 20 bucksss ????
I would have just tipped that poor security guy and the manager. Unprofessional staff. This is the reality of this pub. Just don't go

The worst experience of my life, the place was creepy, the people were creepy, and there was a hint of racism.
The employees were rude, they had zero sense of hospitality, I would never recommend this place to anyone.
Ps: the room looked nothing like the pictures, it was tiny, and had a pathetic excuse for a window.

The venue is nicely appointed but not as vibrant as others. Food is just ok.
Got kicked out of the pokies for spectating a friend. If you're not feeding them money you need to leave apparently. Pure greed.

The room had not been cleaned priperly. You can see the tea-stained table or find some nails and dust on carpet. The fridge door can not be closed properly. Carpark is only opened from 10am. That means you cannot leave earlier than 10am as the carpark gate is closed.

The hotel has been renewed.
Rooms are really good and new.
The train station is really closed and many restaurants and shops around.
The building hosts a sports bar which was not noisy and didn't bother us to sleep.

The food here is very hit or miss. They also seem to try and overchage you at the bistro most times when ordering, so just keep an eye out for that. The interior style of the pub is actually very beautiful and the bar staff are super friendly. Is a great pub for a drink or two but not the greatest food wise!

The bistro has had a re vamp. It is now more user friendly and comfy. The kitchen & bar staff are polite and obliging. They can also cook. Try the $18 steak and salad with a glass of wine top value. Next the lamb ribs yumoh. Good menu range and prices. Really fresh food. Much appreciated facility to Penshurst Village

Stayed here with my partner for 3 night and the rooms were very clean, had aircon and the bathroom was really nice and big and renovated. The food and drinks were good and so was the price. Cleanest pub I’ve been in. And as I woman I did very much feel safe in this place. The location was good too, lots of necessities on the street eg cafes, groceries, barber. Will definitely be staying here again.

Room was very clean and had a huge bathroom. Food in pub below is lovely and the hotel is close to the train station for a short train journey into Sydney. The owner was kind enough to allow us to leave our car there whilst we went into town which was much appreciated

Popped in without notice and had a superb lunch. The crumbed and deep fried Camembert with plum sauce for an entree was delicious and we all loved our mains. Would visit in a heartbeat and highly recommend

Not sure who just took over your bistro. But terrible. Servings so small. And price gone up on everything. Been twice since new people. That will do us. No more.

Not an ideal hotel for anyone wanting to spend more than a couple nights. Left our room in the morning to get some food and groceries and was not able to get back into the hotel. Luckily there was a manager there at the time, but he still made us sit outside while he made sure we had a room and tried to get our card working. Supposedly
there where still 3 other guest booked into the room. While we where standing waiting outside, another guest approached us asking if we where trying to check in. We explained that we couldn't get back in and they said the same thing had happened to them. The whole process took over half an hour.

Noisy and dripping aircon even when turned off, no housekeeping in 4 nights. Car park is supposed to be locked from 2 am to 10 am which resulted in us having to find a parking spot outside 2 out of 4 nights only to find the parking lot unlocked before 10 am. Checkout was sliding the keycard to a waiter through locked doors. It is a strange place, but is situated close to Penshurst Station as a plus. Don't bother dining in though, you'll find better and cheaper restaurants nearby!

My family had three rooms over 5 days here and I must say we were very happy with the accomodation and Penshurst itself. The hotel is very close to the rail station which was a plus for us. Post recent renovations the rooms were all clean, very well maintained and had a “new” feeling. Comfortable beds and great bathroom facilities in all. More|Like an upper class Hotel really. Very nice. We all ate at the hotel most nights as the food was good and Al had a wide and GF selections cooked well. A quiz night was a bit of fun one night. Penshurst itself had a great selection of local coffee and breakfast options. Staff were friendly, professional and helpful. Definitely will stay here again.

I went to the pub last night. The pokie machine section have 3 independant room for playing. Amazing. Look like VVip. They have wireless charge for phone too

I had a really good stay. Spacious room, comfy bed and excellent shower. Well set up and I was grateful for their hospitality. There was no parking on site, but some on street from later in night. They are well setup for late check in which was a relief

Great spot!
Rooms were very clean, bed was very comfy and staff was lovely! Our air con was making a noise and the manager came up and offered us free dinner as well. If you don’t mind staying outside of Sydney I’d definitely recommend this place!

Great bistro with affordable prices and updated decor looks awesome. Have visited Penshurst Hotel Bistro a few times and the food has always been fresh and tasty. Only thing would be the surf n turf, the creamy prawn sauce is too runny and leaves a pool of sauce on your plate. The staff at the bistro are friendly and welcoming. Definitely recommend Penshurst Hotel for a great feed.

Good range of drinks, spacious, decent amount of pokies available (not that it matters to me). The food here is alright, nothing special.
The staff everywhere are friendly.
Overall a mediocre pub with topnotch staff.
I'm not sure about the actual 'hotel' rooms and what they're like as I'm a local so I cannot rate on that.

Good place to hang out and friendly local people and staffs. They provided a great service and caring... very lovely atmosphere. The hotel was nicely renovated which had good beer and spirit selections. Also, they had live music on the weekend!

Excellent service. Great food and atmosphere and very very clean rooms.
Well worth the money for a short stop over. Free parking, just now the carpark is locked nightly from 02:00 - 10:00 hrs . Did not cause an issue.

Air con was broken when I arrived, dripping water profusely onto the floor, I showed a video to the staff member who checked me in. He was nice and apologetic but told me it was too late in the day to fix and just to use some towels on the floor and he'd send up some spare ones, never got the spares and the dripping drove me insane so I ended up just turning it off. Thankfully it wasn't an extra hot day so it was okay but still wanted it on. Otherwise all other facilities were top notch. Bit disappointed since I paid $200 for a single night but would say it was a one off unfortunate incident, hence not a lower rating. Still recommend staying here, no reason to believe it would happen twice as everything else was nice.

After a trip to the Volcano scenic outlook, we had built up an appertite, so decided to call in to Penshurst Hotel....Grand final day too. Great friendly service, great atmosphere and terrific meals. They were prompt and serves with really generous at fair prices too. Great country pub atmosphere and well worth the visit.
