While visiting Canberra we dined at the Public. Food was exceptional. Highly recommend the Crispy Skin Salon finished with the Apple and Berry Crumble.

The rib eye steak is the great, even when it's $54. A must order. Unfortunately, depending on the day the steak can inconsistently cooked. I could order medium rare and get either blue or well done.

Really friendly staff from the moment we walked in. Location is great to sit outside on a sunny day and watch the world go by. Drinks really well priced and our Pizza and Salad delicious and very fresh. A really easy place to enjoy a lazy day.

Nice little spot, lots of heaters outside for warmth. Good selection of beverages and foods. I had the schnitzel which was great and made with a chicken breast wing on unlike most places. Great overall

Nice 2 band playing. G8 service. Staff r brilliant.
Cocktails very good. Loved our calamari, pork sliders & skin on salmon.

Love it, lovely staff, good vibe and you must try the crispy chicken wings with blue cheese sauce (the best in Canberra).

Just finished eating here;
- weren’t warned about a 45min wait on food when I ordered.
- the order brought out was initially incomplete (we ordered two dishes and only got one)
- the chips were nice
- the fish portion was a little underwhelming
I suspect this place is probably ok usually but they shan’t be getting more of my coin.

It was really busy on a Wednesday night, so i decided to check it out. It a busy for a reason. Food was delicious. I had the parmy and a lemongrass panna cotta. Great relaxed atmosphere and lovely staff.

I came here on a Thursday evening for a casual dinner and had the special. It was super tasty, the price was nice and we received exceptional service from the young gentleman working. I used to work in fine dining once upon a time, and his service was akin to that.

Had another great family lunch at the Public on Sunday.
Food is well priced and high quality.
Staff are friendly, efficient and helpful.
They took care of our allergies and it is a wheelchair friendly environment.
Also love the live music.

Had a lovely lunch with my amazing daughter ❤️❤️
She had a chicken salad and I had fish and chips.
Chips were amazing and the batter and fish were wonderful

Had a group of around 24 booked for Valentine's Day. When we ordered food from bar they suggested we all use one table number, which was about 10 people. Ordered at 7pm. Food was coming out for other numbers and rest of restaurant but after 50 minutes none of us on the one number had received food. Several of us chased up food and where told because of the size of the order (amount of meals) the kitchen decided on making and serving smaller orders 1st.
We got our meals 1:05 minutes after ordering.
This is unsatisfactory and won't be going there again.

Had a birthday party at Public and it was great. The atmosphere was great and especially the service we received from Travis wad amazing. Could recommend it more!

Great venue in Canberra for either a weeknight catch up with friends or a quick lunch during the week. Food was great and the staff are very friendly.

In town for work and ate here twice. Awesome atmosphere and great crew.

Grabbed a drink with a friend. Chips came out barely cooked (was fast, though). Cocktail was a generous term for what we received, had to ask 3 times where they were at with no kindness from the staff (we were ignored).
Won't be coming back, it's a shame since it seems like a popular spot.

Food was great, nice choices that don't have carbs. Steak was amazing. Music was live, someone knows what they are doing! Yay, I will return.

Food is pricey for a pub and very ordinary in quality. Staff are great though and a good atmosphere. Eat elsewhere before you go.

Far too noisy. Could not hear each other speak. Then the music was turned up making it worse. Very busy hard to get served at the bar, very expensive as well. Dinner took a long time to come out. We were outside on a lovely autumn night 23, the heating automatically came on cooking us like a rotisserie chicken. The young crowd next to us were very messy, breaking multiple glasses. as they were not being collected at all. Not an enjoyable experience at all. Won’t be going back. The poor staff were overwhelmed and looked exhausted.

Bars/Pubs can only be classified as good if they serve a modicum of good beers. Tooheys New and spread of 1990's best isn't in that category. A beer spread for the bogan and the wine toffs were happy. 2 stars

As Sydneysiders, we stumbled upon Public while we explored the arcades of Manuka, and Public did not disappoint. Very friendly service, comfy seats outside, generous pours, and tasty fresh food. We enjoyed the Beetroot Salad and the Ham & Pineapple Pizza (don't knock it until you try it -- it was amazing, crusts and all)! Thanks so much for a great lunchtime getaway!

Amazing food I had the roasted herb chicken and it just melted in my mouth, my sister had the eye fillet and was cooked to perfection and mum had the Moroccan chicken salad. 10/10

Always good for a lunch with friends or a group outing. Interesting menu, great pizzas, good wine selection and good options for inside and outside seating, especially if you want to take your pups. Convenient and plenty of parking.

A great bar with a relaxed atmosphere. The food quality was high and there was a good variety. The prices were at the upper end of what you would expect for a pub, but in line for Canberra. I visited on a Saturday night and it was busy, but not too busy. There are meal deals on during the week that bring the prices down if you’re price conscious.
It’s wheelchair accessible and has an accessible disabled bathroom with lots of room.

Absolutely fantastic, ordered a smoked chicken salad. The smell of it had my mouth watering. The saltiness of the prosciutto compliments the smokiness of the chicken and the feta provides another texture of a semi-fatty cheese. And that onion with the dressing cuts it down. Added a bit of spice with some black pepper and it was perfect. Tried to order an eye fillet but I was too early for the kitchen. I’ll come back for it next time. Wonderful staff and atmosphere. My first visit and certainly won’t be my last.
