You won’t find better sweet potato wedges anywhere. Had 300g scotch fillet and was cooked as ordered (medium). Highly recommend.

We stayed in Glen Innes overnight on the way to Brisbane and decided on dinner at the Railway after checking out their menu online. We were not disappointed. The service was warm and friendly and the food was excellent. The desserts were outstanding. We had the Salted Apple Crumble and the Lemon Tart. Absolutely delicious and a bargain at $12 each. As we left,e told the chef how much we enjoyed our meal and made special mention of the desserts. He said they're the work of the apprentice, (Tyler, I think). Apprentice? The bloke is a young genius! Thank you Team Tavern. You all do a great job!

Went for dinner last night while passing through town. Service was good staff friendly, warm with fire place. Food came out quickly Lasagne and Chicken Parmigiana and they were both excellent.

Today my hubby and I had lunch here for the first time for our 16th wedding anniversary, we were served by the friendly and lovely Sarah, we waited no time for our meals Crumbed Cutlets, both meals were absolutely delicious and beautifully served, we would recommend eating here, and we will definitely go for the drive from Inverell back here to enjoy another lovely meal! Thank you Sarah! 😊

This is your standard country pub. As you walking in there are locals sitting at the bar, sports and racing on the TV and pokies in the corner. Walk around the back and you'll find a much more modern divining room and to be fair the Chicken Parmigiana was pretty damn good. Great sized meal, everything as it should be and plenty of flavour in the sauce. There isn't much else in town so worth a visit and plenty of room for large groups. Maybe don't hang around the bar unless that's your type of thing!!!!

The food was lovely, service staff were very pleasant. It was very busy and full. It was hard to hear due to numbers there.

Superb meal! One of the best steaks I've ever had. Staff were extremely helpful in assisting me select a meal that was safe for me food allergy. Lovely, comfortable bistro.

Ordered medium steak half was rare the chips had chicken salt on them and the salad that awful salty cheese all through it worst pub meal I have ever had left most of it.

On this occasion the food was lovely, service was quite quick. Atmosphere is lovely but very noisy when there are a number of people dining. Food is a little overpriced for pub food.

Nice old pub in a quiet part of town. Dining area obviously fairly new and is a pleasant place to eat. Staff were very friendly and efficient.
Food came out very promptly and was very nice indeed. Two serves of crumb cutlets, one with a particularly nice salad and the other with veg, cutlets were nicely crunchy but not overcooked.
Prices were reasonable for the food presented

My husband and I have just had one of the best pub meals ever on our road trips. My scotch fillet was so tender and tasty. The grilled cutlets were tender and cooked perfectly. We have rebooked already.

Just had lunch here and the food and service were excellent. Prices are great, food was soooo tasty and hot. Staff were lovely.

If you're the type of aussie cobba who enjoys receiving a meal within 30, 40, 50 or even 60 minutes of ordering then this place is probably not going to be for you but if you enjoy drinking 10 beers after ordering (after a hard day digging up blackjacks and 12 carat sapphires) while you're waiting for dinner then, you're still probably not going to enjoy here. I'd say I'm a fairly even-handed, maybe even generous reviewer and I tried to look for a saving grace but it was like sieving through silt with a 10 metre grate size, so even a seasoned expert like myself had no chance.. I'd recommend grabbing yourself a few cheese and bacon rolls from woollies and posting up stumps at home xxx - honest to God though this place was astoundingly bad, slow, expensive and shockingly average

Don't be fooled by the outside of the building, has a new dining area. Good pub meals.

Delicious, perfectly cooked food. We were a large group so ordered a variety of options from the menu and everything was incredible. Came back the next night and it was just as good.

Chicken parmi was pounded pretty thin but otherwise tasty. I like that the sauce is included in the mains. Bistro had a nice vibe.

All I can say is WOW, this was maybe the best food I have ever eaten in my whole life, there was this one Chef I didn't catch his name but he was wearing a Bucket Hat (I think he was cooking) He 100% deserves to get a raise he was so nice and polite to us when I was asking about the gluten free options. Top experience!
