We stumbled upon this place when walking back to our motel and were pleasantly surprised by the quality and price of the Daily Specials. You can have lunch here for just $18,- (meal + drink). Think of a steak salad, burger, steak sandwich. Simple food but good stuff. Check this place out guys you won't regret it.

Went to dinner last night with visitors from down south food was so disappointing steak when asked for it to be well done was rare, the fish the crumbs you need to not break your teeth on rock hard ,Caesar salads were missing a lot of the ingredients mainly big bowl of Lettice so not as I remember this Hotel had a great name for good food once.

Well the kitchen dining area staff are /were awesome & the meal great👍.
I was a tad peed off enough to cut 02 🌟⭐ stars.
Because I put on some games of Keno on the self serve pod.
Just as I went to replay my keno ticket, one of bar staff shut the self serve keno computer down at 19:45.
I asked if that was it, keno closed ? is bar closing ? Said staff member said he just closed the keno self serve early.
He suggested checking my ticket at counter, but I pointed out I very much prefer self serve 🤷.
Otherwise, Red Lion Rockhampton couldA mightS wouldA shouldA scored 5ive 🌟⭐🌟⭐🌟. oh well, unwell 😶

vibe is OK。 service is okay。 the quality of steak is ok. But the cooking is awful. Three steak none of them are cooked as required. Medium become medium rare. Medium is rare more like medium well. And the medium well just straight to well done. Just disappointed 😡

The Reddy Restaurant at the Red Lion was another delightful surprise. Clearly recently renovated to a high standard, the tables as not jammed packed in and the whole place had a great feel about it. I had the duck with chat potatoes and broccolini which was so juicy for duck and tender, the breast was juicy but I could have done with a sauce if you ever feel like adding a little extra to this dish. My wife has the reef fish grilled, today it was Snapper, it was available either crumbed/grilled or battered, this too was tasty and flaked away, very well cooked just right! The staff were efficient and friendly whilst the service was quick considering the place was almost full. Highly recommended for lunch and dinner. Great place we´ll be back!

The burger was ok, the pizza was frozen and not cooked properly, one of the worst of my life. Unacceptable that staff started closing putting chairs on top of the tables while still there having dinner, disrespectful putting pressure on us. Atmosphere depressing I don’t recommend it

Second time I have been there first time was great this time didn't have what I wanted on menu and my wife had the same as first time and it was unsatisfactory , but my replacement meal was very nice.

Really enjoyed our meals. Everything was cooked perfectly and tasted great. The restaurant was nice and the seating was comfortable. All of the staff were so nice and friendly. Drinks and meals came in good time. The prices were pretty standard and fair for the calibur of food we ate. Definitely give this place a go, but book as gets pretty busy.

Our celebration was held in a private room. The meals were exceptional and beautifully presented. I highly recommend the duck springrolls and the pork belly stir fry. Cant show the photos because we ate it by savouring every bite.

Nice meal, atmosphere and service. Rump steak a bit more well done than the rare ordered (hence chewier) but sauce, salad and chips excellent. Barra very good.

I usually enjoy coming to the lion, however had a bad experience recently. We had a table booked for 27 people, and only 25 of us came & were barely able to fit in the allocated tables. We then moved the tables so that we could all talk/face each other & the waitress was extremely passive aggressive towards everyone stating she is unable to serve us in this formation & stormed off without communicating in a professional manner. There was no issue with anyone serving us when the time came. Later, the table beside us left so we borrowed a table from there to give us more room, since we had not been given enough to begin with. Another waitress then came and said that table had been reserved so we put it back, this was at 7:30pm & no one turned up to use it?? We stayed until 9:30pm.
I don’t understand the reason to be so difficult and unaccommodating when 25 people are ordering meals & multiple drinks at your venue. We had friends come for the first time who said they won’t be back.

I hosted a monthly luncheon for 35 people. The room was all prepared when we arrived. Function co-ordinator was very obliging & helpful. Serving staff very pleasant & helpful. Delicious food.

I had the misfortune of ordering a rump steak, which was a letdown. The steak was overly fatty and gristly, making it a chore to chew and couldn't be finished. Sent feedback to the chef after being greeted with a sea of fat and connective tissue, only to be told it's the "cut of meat" and nothing he could do.
Yuk!!!
Waitress staff provided good service and live music was 👌

Great little hidden gem outside the centre of Rockhampton. A 500g rump steak and a mixed grill were all full of quality cuts, cooked exactly as requested and came out quick and fair value for money too. Bonus is dog friendly seating out the front.

Great country pub , great atmosphere, good prices , food is excellent ( oyster kills are the best ) live music every fri/sat , comfortable decor , staff are friendly. Would high recommend. 5 stars from us

Food was nice, the meat from my Lamb Shank fell off the bone. Whilst the waitresses were friendly they were at out table multiple times during our meal clearing plates. I had just swallowed the last mouthful of my entre when the main was placed in front of me. We felt very rushed and didnt enjoy the night.

Fantastic meal. From the cattle capital, the steak was A1. Friendly staff, lovely ladies tended to our table. Definitely a must if your passing through Rocky 👍👌

Enjoyed our group Xmas lunch at the ared Lion last Saturday. Lovely room, good menu, excellent friendly staff. Food was served up promptly all at the same time so no-one was left eating on their own. Well priced, good value, and I would definitely recommend this venue.

Do yourself a favour and have a meal at the Red Lion!
This is our preferred place to dine out in Rockhampton. They serve fantastic quality food that comes out super fast; we reckon they serve the best steaks in Rocky. I get anxious in loud venues which is another reason we love the Reddy. It's chill and has a really nice vibe. The staff are attentive, friendly and efficient and make us feel very welcome.

Delicious meals. Very reasonable price. Meal sizes are generous. Awesome service. No long waits. Very clean. Nice atmosphere. Highly recommend the cheesy bacon and garlic bread entree!

15 Dollar Steak Sandwich with a generous serve of chips was a great deal for lunch.
Unfortunately, I didn't grab a picture.
I'm pretty sure it was only three dollars to add a beer or softdrink.
100% recommend. Great value, great feed.
Pictures added after a return trip. It is definitely worth a visit. Great value 15 dollar steak sandwich and chips again.
