When you walk into the royal exchange hotel weather you go to the Irish bar section or the bistro it has great atmosphere and very friendly staff.
The food and drinks are really well priced and the amount of food you get is amazing and delicious plus a really good selection.
Also one handy thing is in the bistro you can scan the qr code on the table and have a look at the menu and order via that or after you look at the menu you can go up to the counter to order also.

Went out for dinner with my sister, the wait was a bit long but the food was definitely worth it! Fresh, hot and just delicious all round! The Parma was huge and absolutely delicious! I'll definitely be coming back!

Went here for lunch and it was incredibly enjoyable.
A couple of drinks and a bowl of loaded fries hit the spot just right.
Was served by Tracy and can not say a bad word, great attitude, positive and a great smile the whole time.
All in all a great experience.

We had a group of friends at your bistro on the 24/1/24. Lovely food as always. The service was great. Cooper was excellent from the time we ordered till the end of our group leaving. Thank you to Tracy for organising the table. That was a good place to put our group. Definitely be eating there again.

Table of 12. Multitude of meals.
Some comments - "my chicken burger is great thanks", " yes, I asked for 'blue'", "those chips are a little salty", " I think they need to work on the garlic sauce, it split", "the steak Sanga was nice". TJ was a standout steward. Outstanding service, and accommodated all our needs. We enjoyed a great laugh.

Stopped in for dinner on the way through to Bairnsdale. Good selection on the menu, good size meals, just great pub grub. Reasonably priced and good service. Would recommend and would go back again!

Spent my birthday here with family and friends on Sunday 16th June and found meals very good. Every person enjoyed and staff member Shara( l think her name is) was excellent with us. She knows how to join in on jokes. Our new local now. Thankyou RE.

Seniors menu is a huge hit! Perfect size and for a great price! All staff were so lovely and accommodating to my granddaughter gluten allergy. I will definitely be visiting again

Our Server Maddy was fantastic and very professional and friendly with her approach throughout our meal. This young lady is the what is missing in alot of other hospitality areas. Great job will definitely be coming back again

Our go to pub for a meal.. Food has definitely gone from good to great! So good they have a $15 lunch menu now. Not wasting food by leaving half of it.. although lunch meals still substantial.. but more affordable... Staff are friendly and hospitable .. Highly recommend..

My husband and i had a lovely lunch sunday.
You dont see roast turkey very often and it was so tasty . The sausages and mash on the seniors menu where great snags.
The staff are happy and so welcoming.
The young fella that served us was a real gem . Thankyou
This will be our in town go to place for a meal 😃

Meals are great, SATAY SAUCE HAD NO PEANUT TASTE WAS PALE AND UNINVITING.

Loving the upgraded pub. Only downside is the noise level, but not sure how to tackle that! Reasonably priced. Large meals (maybe skip a meal before going there 🤣). Have not been disappointed with the food on our many visits - well cooked, beautiful presentation, and lovely wait staff too.

Justin polite and welcoming as soon as we walked in the door. Tash was attentive and checked in on us regularly. Chef Scott and Jack's burgers were delicious.

I haven't been to the REH for so long and good reason. I thought what the heck. Had a few beers and forgot about the time and they were closing the kitchen. The chef 👨🍳 said no problem and made my spaghetti marinara, well me say there was more than I could eat and it tasted great. Thankyou to the chef you made my night alot better.

I had intentions on buying a couple of non alcoholic drinks. My partner and I walked up from the main street in town, Im pregnant and I was busting for the toilet. The door worker, was a pretentious snob looser who belittled us, rude as hell and forced us out in the rain, because we accidently walked through the wrong door. Again, Im a busting pregnant ladie who was dying for the toilet and didnt want to go out around this large building and already a hard time, holding everything in. Just to satisfy this control freak who has pleasure of power tripping and cant be humane or understanding for anyone but who own egoticstal needs. She was plain out being rude to us and we are not impressed. Yes maybe her job is to protect the door but there is a friendly and humane way ot going about things. You guys lost our buisness with the lack of basic friendly customer service.

If you are looking for a good place to have a meal, do not go past the Royal Exchange in Traralgon. The staff are terrific. When you walk in, you are greeted with a smile and hello, which is so nice to be made to feel so welcome. It does not matter what you order or how many are on your table. The meals come out nice and hot and all at the same time. Oh, and the food is so good and very generous serves. Once again, to all the staff, I say thank you 😊 for great hospitality and service - Justin and Tash make for an enjoyable lunchtime with a few laughs thrown in.

Had a family lunch here today and everything was great…. All but the chicken schnitzel! I don’t know how a pub can mess up a basic crumb on a piece of chicken but they did. Not sure what method the kitchen use, but i would highly suggest a new technique.
Getting a soggy schnitzel with the boring crumb falling off wasn’t appetizing. I thought it may of been the whole “first dish of the day issues” which you can understand. But as lovely as it was that the kitchen Made me a whole new meal, the crumb was still soggy and peeling off and just not that enjoyable.

Great value and price. Customer service outstanding and reasonable time waits.
I got the Mexican parma and it was phenomenal.

Great meals good size.
One problem the SATAY SAUCE WAS TASTELESS AND BLAND NO PEANUT TASTE AT ALL, THE EXTRA SAUCE DIDNT HELP AS IT WAS STILL VERY TASTELESS.
PLEASE FIND A GOID SATAY SAUCE RECOPE
I was given extra sauce but it was still the bland tasteless satay sauce you really need to find a better sauce recipe.

Great family pub with playground for children. Great service. The only issue was "video machines " my grandson spotted and wanted to play. They were poker machines. 😊 He is 7yo.

After my last disappointment when I last dined here, I decided to give them another go and I ordered a chicken kiev for dinner. When it arrived at our table, I noticed bits of ham and cheese inside the chicken. We went up to speak to one of the staff about it, we were told that they had ran out of chicken kievs and substituted it with cordon bleu. I was never informed about this change and I would have ordered something else instead as I wouldn’t eat a cordon bleu. I had paid $30 for something I did not order, and given the current cost of living crisis I’m quite upset with the lack of care for their customers, as they did not offer any form of reimbursement or exchange.
