Usually have lunch every Wednesday, it shall be one of best cafe you are able to find at Sutherland. Food is good, staff is super nice and friendly especially a lady who is tall and with great accent. Will most definitely have lunch or dinner again!

The place used to be awesome until the new cooks arrived. The bistro doesn’t open until 5pm, we waited patiently once it hit 5:00 the new chefs walked in, talked with their employees for about 20 minutes and the bistro still hadn’t been opened…
We had to tell them we WANTED to order for them to than take our order. The other employee also said “They weren’t ready to cook but they can take orders” ( even tho it was 5:30 ) Too busy talking to employees and customers (the chefs) they don’t care about the customers experience or time. The manager is just as worse.
Sutherland hotel is my local pub and I used to enjoy going there for dinner with my family, but the employees there clearly do not care about your time and the food is trash!!!!!

The drink prices aren't the worst and the new grill, Gage Grill, has some nice selections for reasonable prices. I do like the new setup more too, less bistro and more restauranty...

Some hoodrat girl staff member must be from menai talking smack to customers about how much better the food is since mikes left lol news check no one is in there for a reason and mikes down the road is full as I right this last time I ever step foot into the royal

Restaurant gets busy and food is quite good. Meals a decent size. I would recommend it.

It was great they let us in feed us served us we had good time then left them to clean up after us tops
We had to pay naturally but for what u get on your plate it nearly free

In the bistro I had lamb chops which were on the rough side and very insistent in cooking undercooked to overcooked and soggy chips. The rest of my party had the rib which were quite good, apart from the same soggy chips. Apart from this the service was prompt and pleasant

i love it the daily specials meal. because it really high vaulem and very delicious. the shelf will tell you the best sauce let you choices. Service was also nice ,it can com every night. five star for recommendations.
Btw,the mushrooms sauce it’s really great,im lovely,so everyone can try this sauce next time 💓💓💓

Had an amazing feed here last week from the new kitchen team. Food was excellent, and service great from the bar staff too! Loved it, will be back

Great staff, welcoming and want to help out that extra bit finding items asked for or making your requests there top priority. Food was great and was fast leaving the kitchen, even when the place was 80% full.
The beer was cold which is great.
And the over all atmosphere was good. A nice place for lunch or dinner for sure

Great place for a few drinks and socialise with others. Food is available getting better still room for improvement. Pokies don't pay much be careful.

Great meals for a good price. Kitchen under new management & the food is good quality for pub food. I will definitely be back.

Nice inside and outside area.
Food was served fast and delicious
Beautiful fresh grilled barramundi with a nice salad and chips. Meals were big portions.

Great historic pub in Sutherland.
The food is very tasty and up to standard the portions are also large, the Royal has a good amount of options on the menu including a decent amount of seafood.
Offering two pool tables and two outdoor areas it is deceptively spacious for a small pub.
Great staff, very welcoming.

Good food good atmosphere very busy on a Friday night, but service is quick.
Had the basic chicken Parma it was good about the size of my face - so a good size. And the chips were crispy and not soggy which is always a plus. My wife had the surf and turf, the prawns for that were excellent. We also got some mushroom sauce with it but that seemed to be gravy with mushrooms in it so not the best mushroom sauce, but it went well with my chips so that was great.
Has a play area for the kids and a good family atmosphere (not much swearing) - with lots of other kids to play with while my kids waited for their food.
For the kids meal I'd recommend the spaghetti as it was a generous size very yummy.

Big servings of tasty pub food. Typical pub food menu but large serving size plus tasty food. Will eat here again! 😍

Awesome local pub with a great atmosphere and bistro that serves great menu i really enjoyed our dinner the service and staff were fantastic

A typical pub. Schooners are good quality. No pints except for Carlton unfortunately. Free pool on Wednesday and Thursday (pool comp). They charge extra for a schooner size spirit and mixer for some reason whilst their standard size looks a tad small.
Overall good.
Haven't tried the new food vendor yet.

Always a good atmosphere and a nice modern pub. Has pool tables which is great. We ordered burgers and they tasted fantastic. I just moved around the corner and will definitely eat here again
