Was in the area on a Friday night and randomly chose to give this place a try. The establishment is fresh and comfortable, bar attendants were friendly, served drinks promptly and kept the tables clean. Lots of screens to watch whatever sport you’re interested in and the playlist was great too.
Drink wise, really impressed with the range of drinks they had on tap. Tried a couple which I haven’t seen elsewhere.
Food wise, pizza bar is at the back. We had a medium pizza for less than $20 and it was more than enough for 2. Saw the servings of other dishes and they were big.
Located right across the station, otherwise there is street parking or 2 hours council parking nearby.

Very disappointed that after years of calling ahead due to having a short break at work someone in management has decided to over complicate everything.
Have been advised that I can’t call the Italian pizza bar directly to make an order, and I now have to call the royal oak hotel to do so. Upon doing so I was then told I have to come in to make an order defeating the purpose of calling ahead.

Very clean and nicely renovated.
There are plenty of giant TV screens for sports lovers, and they open till late. Direct opposite station so convenient.

This is the best place for gambling. You will lose your money every week in a provocative manner and you will decide to quit gambling forever, so it is the best place for a gambling addict.✌

They have charged me for a water even though I was told to play gambling and I did etc............................................. Worse customer service in my experience coming to this place. Regrating coming here for 4 years experiencing a same thing with different workers. How? But I loved the place just poor service.

The spicy pizza is my favourite. As a spicy food lover, this place makes the best spicy pizza.
+ prawn pizza is good too

The renovations are complete! the main bar is much roomier and modern with a TAB area and plenty of sports on TV, there is now a dedicated dining area where children are allowed and the bistro still serves well priced, good quality food. There is an outdoor seating area for smokers. Everywhere is wheelchair accessible including the upgraded restrooms. There are 18 different types of beer on tap, every taste is catered for and they are nice and cold.The staff are friendly and efficient. There is an off street car park at the rear of the hotel. Well worth a visit.

The food in this place is quite decent for the price and the drinks are reasonable as well. The location is right next to the station, so easy to get home.
Staff are friendly and the bottle shop is open till late on weekends, which is quite handy.
If you are into the sports betting, the facilities are very good and cater to most needs

The bosses are absolute hypocrites!! They treat us loyal customers like dirt by banning our kids in the newly renovated sitting area and only allow them to stay in the dining area,but on the other hand the owners dog is allowed INSIDE the pub where other customers are eating and drinking???! And when my husband went to get drinks he had to leave the kids in the dining area to get his beer since they're not allowed in that area...guess what? They just banned my husband for leaving the kids unattended in the dining area. Mind you it's pretty much connected to the bar area just with a cage thing around it. Contradictory much???

Superb atmosphere. Management, staff and patrons are all jovial. The main reason for repeat attendance. It's always clean, friendly and the beer tastes terrific! Highly recommend.

Staff are nice. But for bistro patrens there is no proper seating in pub for dinners. Food is ok but drink prices are a rip. Very average pub nothing special.

Saturday 7th served up beautifully cooked steak meal. My daughter and i gave it a 4.5 out of 5. Sunday 15th we came back ordered same meal. Requested medium to well done steak and it was hardly cooked at all. Was a major turn off. Bar service is fine.

One woman there is absolutely joke. Rude and thats not the way customer service is done. I had few drinks and food. And after i finished my launch and drink i was just sitting on a table and then she comes and tells you can't sit if you are not buying anything. Absolutely joke.

not sure what the deal is with this tall skinny korean female bartender, never initates greetings with customers, never approaches customers, just stand there and act oblivious. you are a bartender, not a korean idol, no one cares about your looks, just serve the drinks, and quitting acting like you are the boss and better than everyone else there, if you were, you wouldnt be standing there in the first place.

Not a bad boozer. Looked like some renovations were going on when we were in. Nice selection of beers and ciders. Lunch was nice. Spaghetti Bologna was nice.

Looks great, well renovated and potential to be a local landmark, but ridiculous prices. I asked if there was a happy because the drink prices at crazy, and got the response "there pretty cheap especially when you consider city prices". Unfortunately prices are cheaper in the city and lidcombe is not in the city, so maybe it should be cheaper.

I went to the toilet and had my shopping stolen from poker machine I was playing. Told manager who said it was my fault for leaving it there he would not check cameras which are everywhere. Eventually I left and will never return as it is surely a scam. Be warned as he is allowing theft to flourish there.

Great place to have a drink, watch the sports on TV, place a bet on all the races around the country, and if you want to just talk with a friend or partner there are comfortable lounges to sit and chat when the owner finishes the renovations. There is also a pizza restaurant at the back. Great atmosphere and friendly bar attendants.

Food was absoloutly beautiful and the staff were so kind and friendly. There was also a great atmosphere and it was very family friendly too. Can't wait to go back!

Every time I visited ROH; I got the same mixed experiences.
Friendly and professional kitchen staffs; tasty freshly cooked food; affordable price, indoor sitting arrangement is always tidy and clean.
However, the front of house staffs are not professional enough (except the Korean bar man who's been working there for long); specially the girls are not yet ready to work in front of house. The outdoor arrangements are not good enough. Table and chairs are always dirty; cigarette ashes are everywhere. Hope to see more improvement next time.

Called in to play the pokies to kill some time. Wouldn't bother visiting again. Staff only seemed interested in serving particular clientele. Suffice to say an older Australian male mustn't be a valued guest. I won't bother again.

A nice spot for a drink, especially at late hours if u are a shift worker like me as they stay open really late. They have a huge TV screen which also makes it a great spot to watch sport. A nice little quaint beer garden too if u would like a smoke. There is a pizza shop inside that make delicious traditional italian pizzas at an affordable price. The location directly across from the train station also makes it very convenient.

ALL THE ATTENDANTS ARE RUDE! They only look after their "own" people. They should be given proper training on how to deal and communicate with people. Look - I bought a schooner of beer and my glass was still half full when I decided to go to the toilet quickly and when I came back, my half-filled glass of beer was gone! I spoke to one of the ladies (who could hardly speak in English) and I asked her, "Where's my beer? I left it just here [referring to one of the gaming machines wherein I still had a credit of $19.00]." She went, "I took it... (and mumbled some words that only she was able to understand)." And then she disappeared. Five minutes later another lady came to me and she went, "I WAS THE ONE WHO TOOK YOUR BEER AWAY!" I asked, "But why did you take my glass of beer away?" She replied, "BECAUSE YOU'VE BEEN AWAY FOR OVER TEN MINUTES!" Ohhhhh Jeeeeeeezzzzzzzzzzz I replied, "I was only away for two minutes - to empty my bladder! Not ten minutes! Not even five minutes! You can check the camera and let's watch together!" She went, "NO, SIR! YOU WERE AWAY FOR TEN MINUTES AND LONGER!" I didn't want to argue no more so I just left the premises in total disgust. The bottom line was: I was just waiting for her to say, "I'm Sorry. Let me grab you another beer..." or with mere 2 words, "MY APOLOGIES" - that could have ended my frustration amicably but she looked at me as if I just did a horrible crime by leaving my beer on the side of the gaming machine - like, IT WAS ALL MY FAULT. It was like, next time, when you go to the toilet, TAKE THE BEER WITH YOU EVEN IF YOU STILL HAVE CREDITS IN THE MACHINE AND DON'T BLAME US WHEN IT MAGICALLY DISAPPEARS! THERE'S NO NEED TO CHECK THE CAMERAS BECAUSE WHETHER YOU WERE TO ADMIT IT OR NOT IT WAS YOUR FAULT!"
