Wow! We tried the Southern Fried menu, it was amazing, it's not often you see Gumbo at a pub, it was delicious as was the Brisket and Southern fried chicken. Cool atmosphere, great service and live music. We will definitely be back!

We recently hosted a business lunch at the Royal Oak Hotel, and it was outstanding from start to finish. Everything exceeded our expectations, making it a memorable and successful meeting.
From the moment we walked in, the hospitality was warm and genuine. I had requested a nice table, and the staff went above and beyond, setting us up perfectly for our discussion.
The food was amazing. Every dish was packed with flavor and beautifully presented. The menu had a great mix of options, perfect for lunch. Even the coffee was delicious and perfectly brewed.
Special shoutout to Nick and his incredible team. Their service was stellar—attentive, knowledgeable, and genuinely passionate about ensuring we had a great time. Nick’s leadership really showed.
It was the perfect lunch with great food, exceptional service, and a welcoming atmosphere. Highly recommend this place!

Went there recently for a couple of Coopers but they were about to be closed. Sam however was very accommodating and served me despite being almost closed. He didn’t have to do that but did it anyway. I’m very thankful for his service as well as the chat thank you Sam!

Tried finding a good pub in Adelaide. Wow I did. Amazing service and beautiful food. Have recommended to friends! Sam who was absolutely hospitable and friendly, thankyou for making our experience at Royal Oak memorable. We will be back!

This is a very eclectic place with many interesting curios scattered around the interior. I could not complain about the service. The drinks were reasonably priced. I didn't have a meal so can not comment on the food. Well worth a visit, especially when they have live music.

The Royal Oak was absolutely buzzing on Sunday evening when we went for dinner. It was a cosy and electric environment. It was our first time at the pub and we enjoyed our meal. Two steaks were ordered rare and came out well done but we’re not fussy eaters and enjoyed them all the same.

The lamb shank here is simply amazing—tender and packed with flavor. South Season's performance was mesmerizing, adding a fantastic vibe to the evening. The service was top-notch too, with friendly staff ensuring we had a flawless dining experience. Definitely recommend for great food, awesome music, and excellent service!

Since I've discovered this quirky little Pub I visit at least once a week. Yesterday was my 3rd time in a week. My family bought me here for my Birthday because they know I love it so much. The food is delicious, the atmosphere is amazing and the service is great with very friendly staff. The music is the best too.

Quite impressed with vegetable and salad bar. Able to eat and have a drink for $25 instead of spending $50 off the menu. Will return. A bit noisy, could have put our group of 11 in one of the side rooms.

Pleasant pub with an older character, well restored. Great place to admire its surrounds. The happy hours have good prices. Great choice with food menu. Restaurant done in 70's theme.
The gaming room is very well presented with sitting area to read the paper. Good selection in bottle shop at rear with easy parking. A pub which fits in North Adeliade's older heritage buildings.

Nick was amazing especially making sure my booking was confirmed. The food was amazing, and the cocktails from Josh and Aiden were awesome.

Nice chill atmosphere. Stopped in for a couple of quiet drinks and loved the place. The band was great, and the place had several different areas, so still able to hear a conversation and the music at the same time. Highly recommend a visit if you're in the area. Looking forward to trying the food on my next visit.

Met a friend here today I hadn’t seen in 10 years, was going to have a beef schnitzel but not on the menu, chose a beef curry, the guy behind the bar said have you had this before, I said no, he said it’s good, well 45 minutes later when it arrived with my friends chicken schnitzel, it was a plate full of sludge, no beef / meat in it at all, rice, tofu, raita, well that’s what they called it on the menu, rice’ mmm’ papadum, super market, service well zilch, the plates finished, but not touched , I had 3 bites and pushed it aside, 3 hours after we left, still sitting on the table. What a travesty this place is, when Saturno’s owned it the food was no 1. Never ever, ever, ever, ever, go back. Rude abnocious people work there.

I recently visited Royal Oak with a group of friends for dinner, and I must say, our experience was highly disappointing. The decline in the quality of their food over the past few years was evident in every aspect of our meal. We ordered a margherita pizza priced at $22 and a grill share platter priced at $50, expecting a delightful culinary experience. the pizza we received seemed like it had been hastily thrown into the oven straight from the freezer. The crust felt more like bread, lacking the authentic crispness and flavor one expects from a well-made pizza. As for the grill share platter, it was a sad sight to behold. The presentation was underwhelming, and the portion size did not justify the hefty price tag. The selection of items on the platter seemed meager, and the overall quality was subpar. Even the cocktails, while not terrible, were far from impressive. This experience was the final straw for us, and we have decided not to return.

I ordered the crumbed lamb cutlet with pistachios and basil pesto and a side of chips which definitely did not disappoint. I was amazed by the quality and freshness and rhe chips were truely the best I’ve ever had. The staff were also very sweet and attentive and the atmosphere was really nice. Definitely would recommend!!

Interesting decor, very eclectic. Loved it! Should be back. Not impressed by the crack head that decided to chat to us, as per the Response from Royal Oak, not a staff member, just a nuisance off the street! Updated review with some photos.

If you’re looking for something to do on a Wednesday night, this is the place to be, band tunes and dancing, what great atmosphere!
The exterior looks deceptive because upon entry, it is such a nostalgic look and vibe.
The staff are friendly and attentive.
Food and drinks were great
Restrooms kept clean during service.

Great pub with great food and great service, which I’d recommend!!
If you’re also wanting to watch a live band, I would recommend popping down for Lucifer’s Lounge that perform here every Sunday night from 7pm-10pm, and the 80s/90s night on the last Friday of each month, as well as a variety of bands that perform here every Friday-Sunday nights.

Bit rundown pub, that has its glory days long gone, but surprisingly great selection of food including plenty of vegetarian and vegan options, which was really surprising to find. Otherwise everything you can expect from pub plenty of beers to chose and even tea if you after one. Service very nice and kind. Sever seating options at bar, separate dining area more quiet behind and few outdoor seating. Something for everyone

A brilliant funky pub. Great vibe. Staff are very friendly a special shout out to Julie-Anne, Zoey and Nick all delivering sensational customer service making sure every customer was happy and seeing if they needed anything. I was Very impressed with my meal and so was my mates. Great meals all round. Good job guys. Keep up the top work. I be back soon 👍🍺
