What a great day we had at the Royal Oak on Friday afternoon. From superb service from Sam the manager and Lilly to magnificent food supplied by chef Russell. All our expectations were exceeded.
Sam and his staff went the extra distance ensuring that all our needs were easily met. Sam, Lilly and Russell were very friendly, giving great service and made it a fun day. We enjoyed ourselves so so much that we stayed an extra 2 hours.
What you look for is good food, good service, value for money and a good environment. This was easily achieved and exceeded by Sam and his staff.
We highly recommend the Royal Oak and shall revisit with anticipation. Totally satisfied with all aspects and would give them the highest rating possible.

We were in Richmond for two nights after covid restrictions eased. We came across this pub. Best find ever! Huge meals & the food was divine! We came here every day either for lunch or dinner. Russell the chef is a lovely, friendly character. He made us feel most welcome & boy can he cook! You won't be disappointed! We'll be back.

We always have a great time here. They are very accommodating and never rush you to leave or feel unwelcome. The food is also lovely and great value. We love it here. Thank you.

Travelled to Melbourne and experienced the worst customer service I have ever received. The barman was extremely rude and tried to intimidate us. Will not return and recommend a course in customer service to the Barman or a different career.
The only thing good about the place was the security guard she was lovely. Very disappointed.

This pub is my new favorite spot for drinks! Love the selection of beers, wines, and cocktails, all without breaking the bank. This place has got something for everyone. Plus, the happy hour deals are unbeatable.

Staff deserve 5 stars, as they're always friendly and always greet us upon entry, and also when leaving. Have never been anywhere every staff member has been awesome b4 this place lol. Im only giving the Royal Oak 4 stars, mainly due to size, and it needing a bit of a revamp. Theres a lot of old machines in the gaming room other (a plus for some), but could do with some new machines. It could so with a bit of renovation, but has a nice TAB, and a warm atmosphere.

Royal Oak appears to be a bastion of a cozy, relaxed pub in the middle of unrelentingly trendy Richmond. We enjoyed our lunch and nicely-priced beers. Staff were very friendly and talked cheerily with our footy-mad eight year-old

Love this pub's food! It's exactly what you want from a pub. Tasty, filling, and perfect with a pint. The lamb shank is unreal. Must try..!!!

It was a very hot day, for lunch. We were the only ones in the dining area, but staff were helpful and polite. Food was great.

Had a week night visit to our ‘local’ pub .. The Royal Oak. Never let down by the excellent food made by ‘Russell’. Always hot, quick and tasty food. His cooking would put a lot of so called prominent eateries to shame. We’ll be back! 5 ⭐️

Had a function with 35 people. This is a great hotel. The staff are very friendly. The food was great. Great value for money. Great gluten free options, they're very accommodating.

Great for a good ol' fashion pub meal. Service was great and so prompt. Staff attentive. Relaxed atmosphere. Great value 👏

Great casual place. Staff are very pleasant and whilst there is a big gaming area there are still large dining and outdoor areas away from the gaming if it's not your thing- open late too which is a bonus for us night owls

Gotta love The Royal Oak.
No nonsense food and a good bar. Specials are good. 2 parmas for $33 on Tuesdays.

Absolute sterling effort by feeding a lounge full of hungry patrons ! Preparing single handily in the kitchen !
Gorgon was serving the meals to tables and worked as waiter , also a good bloke as well !

Excellent pub with delicious food. Staff and Kitchen team (Dennis, Russell) are courteous and very helpful, understanding of requests for our toddler. An enjoyable dinner in the Bistro. Will return for sure. Thanks again.

Don’t go here. Had a handful of drinks at this pub. We were doing nothing but sitting and having a chat with mates and got cut off by the bartender because we were apparently drunk. (one friend cut off before even crossing the road into the pub)
Food is bloody terrible as well, all reheated and frozen and service terrible obviously trying to close early on a Saturday night.

Do not recommend the bistro food. Arancini was frozen in the middle, it was cooked more and we got it back minus the 2 we cut into. They were oily and not nice. Veal schnitzel was on the specials menu. The veal crumb was dripping in oil, it wasn’t pleasant to eat at all. Chips were over cooked, I couldn’t even put my fork into them. ‘Garlic’ chicken Kiev, not much garlic and chicken was dry. Only good thing about the meal was the salad.

Didn’t eat here so can’t comment, beers were cold and there is a reasonable selection. You can play pokies/keno etc. stays open to late. Tram stop right out the front. Plenty of other food options in the area if you just want a drink or three.

Comforatable atmosphere. Wonderful staff and welcoming. Food is fresh, tasty and satisfying. Relaxing way to enjoy home cooked favourites with friends at very reasonable prices.

Great Chef, Returned yesterday for a 90th Birthday, Sam the Manager looked after us all so well, Many thanks to Chef Russell for going above and beyond to provide a special request for the Birthday Boy. Food was wonderful, large portions and presented well. *******

Amazing food, with even better service. The staff went above and beyond to cater for our family of 5. The meals were large and incredibly good value for money. When we visit Melbourne again, we will definitely come back!

A group of friends and I had lunch on Friday.
The service was exceptional, food was great as always.
lilies and Sam handle the busy rush with calm and poise.
Always friendly , no matter how busy thru always have time to chat.
The ambience is perfect, very clean and tidy,

Absolute favourite for my Friday and Saturday nights! Their chicken Parma is insanely good, and can never get enough of it. Plus, the staff is amazing, always friendly and attentive. Love the vibes here! Definitely a must-try spot if you’re craving delicious food and top-notch service. For sure going back!
