went on new years day. The food was okay however the service took more than an hour. But the staffs were really nice and kind. had cocktails and few other drinks which was good. But the view was 10/10. the window seat with the beach view during sunset was something that might call us again back to that place.

Went for dinner with a few of my mates to their steakhouse. Got the ribeye, it was cooked perfectly, and it came accompanied with plentiful sides which were all spot on as well as an addictive bordelaise sauce. I only wish this place were closer to where I live, so I could be a frequent visitor. Great experience!

The two young people who played in the bistro on Sunday afternoon were amazing. We would love to see them here as regulars on a Sunday afternoon. Really made the place feel warm.

The location is fantastic and as our local pub it's a great venue to bring our friends to for a drink and a meal. As a vegetarian however I don't rate the food. More vegetarian options are needed on the menu for me to give a five star rating.

Thank you to the all the staff today who helped create a seamless lunch for our group of 13 today. The service was really wonderful and lunch really was delicious. It was our first time dining with you and will happily be returning. ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Lovely birthday dinner with friends in February. Great priced, tasty meals that go perfectly with a fresh Carlton Draught Tank beer. We love the vibe, the relaxed setting and the awesome views, and the walk afterwards along the beach. A local favourite!

Last night we had dinner with a group of friends at your venue. I ordered a Caesar salad. It came and presentation was poor, the egg had clear egg white in bits and the bacon was not cooked properly. I took a bite and it wasn’t nice. A lovely waitress came by and I gave it to her and said I’m sorry I can’t eat this it’s not very nice. She offered for me to get another meal which I said thank you and didn’t bother to get one. My friends gave me some of their food and theirs was very nice. The waitress then comes back and asks me to order something else and I tell her that’s fine I’m good. Then she says we can give you a refund which I honestly didn’t even bother asking for however she offered so I said my husband will come up to the bar and get it. what happened next flabbergasted both myself and my husband. My husband comes back to the table and tells me that the manager wants to hear the feedback about the salad from you. I was surprised as the waitress offered me a refund I didn’t ask for one so I go there and this woman without asking me starts telling me that the egg in the salad is cooked 63 or 64 degrees I wasn’t sure why she was going on about the egg repeatedly mind you like a broken record because it wasn’t just the egg that was bad in the salad. I told her the salad was below average compared to other Caesar salads I’ve had and it needs to be improved. I then proceeded to say the other food had by my friends was very nice. Also, I didn’t ask for the refund the lovely waitress came to me. Tia as we found out her name later was making us feel that the only way we would get our refund is if she was satisfied with the feedback. over a $23 salad!! She wanted feedback she got it. I didn’t even ask for a refund!!! She was repeating herself and wouldn’t let us speak she was using her hand and telling us enough enough do you want your refund or not. She was so rude and her behaviour as a manager was unprofessional and the worst my husband and I have ever seen in customer service. She wouldn’t tell us her name, her staff were petrified to tell us her name. Feedback for the hotel unless you are extremely understaffed and cannot find a manager/ leader who is going to represent your hotel with professionalism and a high level of customer service reconsider having this woman as your manager.

Large beachside pub in one of Melbourne’s bayside suburbs. Easily accessible from the city via train on the Sandringham line (a 30 minute trip) or plenty of car parking on site. Offers the usual public bar food / drink as well as more formal dining in the restaurant overlooking the beach. Great spot for a drink.

It's been many years since I've visited The Sandringham Hotel. It was a pleasant surprise to see a renovated bistro that had lovely Bay views. The atmosphere was energetic and a has very spacious dining area. My meal of grilled Barrumundi served layered upon beans and broccolini on a bed of roasted potatoes. The barramundi had a crispy skin covered with capers and finely diced tomato with butter herb sauce. The presentation was very appetising. I am excited to come back and try something different on the menu. I'm happy to revisit this location. The staff were friendly efficient and helpful. Overall, it was a great experience.

I haven't been to the Grill house at the Sandy before although I do remember having dinner in the same space years ago when the decor was less flash and the food was not great. For the purposes of the review just pretend 'rooms' is food. Arrived a fraction short of 12 on a Friday and the place was almost empty. This was handy for myself and my dining companion. We had the pick of seating and swift enthusiastic service. Food was good and plentiful. I also had a cappuccino - lukewarm sadly - the only downside to the visit. Prices were at or near pub average. Worth another look at peak time for comparison.

I had the absolute pleasure of being served by the two kindest and most pleasant young gentlemen when I recently attended The Sandy's trivia night. Oscar and Lewis were not only extremely professional, charming, and helpful but incredibly facilitating to my groups needs. Never before have I been so impressed by the service that I have received. I would like to extend great gratitude to both the delightful Oscar and the effervescent Lewis for making my evening!

I felt bad for the staff as when we hot there for lunch they appeared understaffed, stressed and it showed with their service. One guy was quite snappy with his customers as well as other staff. We had a mix from lunch deal menu and regular menu. The fish n chips were enjoyed by the teens. Good sized parma enjoyed. Caesar salad looked awesome and I was told it was OK. Steak was ok with chips... Fried calamari is disappointing may as well have been breadcrumbs... overall value was ok and the salads were fresh Meals were staggered when served. Again though service had no soul. It's was like they did not want to be there. No smiles, no energy. Even when we tried to engage they gave nothing. Understaffed or not, not everyone will ignore it and accept it. We just agreed we must have caught them on a bad day. Even the gaming room attendant was quite arrogant. Hospitality jobs are hard and it takes a certain type of person to be able to deliver on extreme expectations of today's society. Maybe with a bit more pay you can attract the right people ...

Here at The Sandy they serve toxic GLUED meat. The eye fillet is glued (cheaper cuts glued together - a practise becoming more common in restaurants and bistros/pubs where profit over quality rules) and they still charge $42 for 200g!! 😱 I had to send mine back, but no apology or refund was offered. *In response to the manager's comment below, we DID speak with your staff who arrogantly said "It's not against the law"! I suggest you make it TRANSPARENT on the menu where the MEAT is GLUED. A refund should have been offered, at the very least.

Have eaten here several times. The view is great. The menu is large with lots of options. Today we had the porterhouse steak and pumpkin curry. Both were enjoyable. The serving sizes are also generous. Def worth a visit.

Had dinner here. Staff were friendly however obviously understaffed. Rushed service or requests forgotten. The fish'n' chips batter too oily and fish too dry. Every other dish was delish.

Had dinner at the Bistro last night - very busy due to a larger party in the high top seating area. Staff were under a lot of pressure due the rudeness I witnessed by this group! Tony handled the situation very well! The staff were abused also poor form by patrons! I would also ADD the 4 of us all had the eye fillets and they were cooked perfectly tasted brilliant! More steaks for us next time

Great pub with nice atmosphere, but the service for drinks at the bistro bar was far too slow. People were pushing in due to the wait. For a Friday night it's just not good enough when they know it will get busy.

Great meet up place, but be prepared to be part of the buzz happening in the open planned diner, yeah it can get loud, but hey its the place for laughs and conversations. The food and drinks are really good and you can order through the AP or walk to the bar to serve, its that easy

Great dining experience with a lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. On the downside, the Parma was unforgettably bad. It tasted like a kids chicken dinosaur, the crumbing was cheap and excessive, the chicken was processed and in small quantity, the tomato topping was not tomatoey, and the cheese and ham was unfortunate. Great experience overall. However improvements can be made with the Parma.

Dropped in for a quick meal and had a very disappointing time. The only real positives were the look of the restaurant and the ocean view. Parma was one of the worst I have had in a while I asked and the fish with the fish and chips is frozen Price did not come close to the quality of the chicken and bland flavour of the napoli. It came fairly quickly at least. Table I ate at also had more wobble the creatures on Chapel Street on a Saturday morning. Upon entering you also need to awkwardly path around a bizarre table layout of round tables leading up to the bar? Very disappointed and don't think I will be back

Dined here today for lunch, food quality was good and the location was nice, however we were interrupted 3/4 of the way through our meal and notified that the table was booked and that we would have to move, there was no sign on the table saying that it was reserved from a time or anything and we were told that we would have to move immediately not in 5-10 minutes time but we would have to move straight away, we literally had food in our mouths, was appalled by the lack of care given by the staff, we were then moved to another table, with no assistance from staff, we left shortly after finishing our meal to find that most of the inside tables were empty, as well as the other balcony side, clearly other options for the people who had the booking to at least look at a menu and allow us time to finish our meal, or if we had been notified there was a booking we obviously would have sat elsewhere, extremely disappointed with the service

Come on tony, outdated vegetarian options waited in like to ask for a egg instead of mushroom on the “mushroom burger” tony insisted the kitchen couldn’t do it as it would take too long (he didn’t ask the kitchen) after telling me id have to pay for any changes (cheap tony but ok) Went back to table and ordered through QR code low and behold the kitchen did add an egg to my mushroom burger. Make it make sense tone.

Celebrated my wife's birthday . The food was delicious and plenty 😋 Well priced. There are plenty of gluten-free free options available, and they have separate fryers for GF meals . Service was tops having Tony looking after us with his big smile. Will definitely go back again and again and recommend it to my friends .
