Went to try pizzas. Really fresh and probably the best pizza I have eaten for quite a long time. Highly recommend trying . The pub is iconic in Newcastle located in Carrington it once served seamen,Dockyard workers in times in the past. The pub has been renovated but keeping a Deco feel. I can imagine locals have many a good time. Staff are friendly and welcoming. The menu covers most food choices and prices are not ridiculous. Kids menu will keep little ones happy.

We go for the pizza. It’s good pub pizza. I especially like the prawn and chorizo pizza. They start cooking the pizzas from 4:30pm so it’s a great place to go for that early dinner straight after work. We only ever go to this pub on a week night or Sunday eve and it always has a good feel. I’m sure Saturday nights are pumping but haven’t been. On weeknights it has the feel of a local even if you’re a visitor. You can feel Newcastle’s industrial history in the walls. The patrons are relaxed, there’s a TV section showing a range of sports, there’s a pool table section that’s always popular, and the dining section. The industrial surrounds outside are great to look at - silos, coal trains, industrial harbourside. In summer, sit outside with your beer and soak up the Carrington vibe or sit inside and you’re bound to strike up a conversation with a local.

Very authentic pub & hotel with the old charme of post industrial groove. In early years the hotspot of seamans, sailors and dockworkers. Above the bar an iconic Ocean Worldmap, see picture. Friendly and quick service. Have not eaten nor booked a room.

This pub has lots of character and friendly locals. It's situated in a little hamlet called Carrington, or Carowdise by the locals, old style architecture with throw backs to the days of early openers and a haven for sea farmers. It now has a younger, more sophisticated clientele who enjoy the old-world charm.

The accommodation is a bit meh. Fine for one night. No airconditioning in rooms which sucked. Especially while staying on a hot summers night. Bathroom was quite dirty. Otherwise the pub itself was great and staff were very friendly.

Seven seas hotel that there were some good things at this accommodation. Firstly the staff were friendly and the food in the hotel was nice. The rooms fell short of a few living standards.Food is always 10/10, price is amazing and their daily specials and deals are always great. The pub is iconic in Newcastle located in Carrington it once served seamen,Dockyard workers in times in the past. The other locals are also always very friendly and it’s always such a great atmosphere. I’ve tried some other pubs around the area and nothing really compares!

Rooms are dirty full of bugs. Found a bug in a water kettle.🤢 rooms smell like smoke and digusting. Hasnt been dusted in a while and dust is everywhere. 🤢 NO air conditioning. 🤯 no air flow in rooms

Just came for lunch. Food is very good, only thing is the portion on The garlic and cheese squares on the entree menu is a full pizza which is ridiculous. Other than that was great, will definitely be back

I’ve been coming here regularly since moving to Carrington in March earlier this year with my family and this pub has become my all time favourite in Carrington and the broader Newcastle region. Food is always 10/10, price is amazing and their daily specials and deals are always great. The staff really make it into a great place, and they have been extremely friendly to us since our first visit to the pub. The other locals are also always very friendly and it’s always such a great atmosphere. I’ve tried some other pubs around the area and nothing really compares! I’ll always return here. Here’s a photo of the $18 steak deal on Wednesdays, I really cannot fault it!

It was OK. Food not overly generous. The crispy skinned barramundi was cooked perfectly but the broccoli was under done and the cauliflower was sauce was cold and hardly there. This dish was the special of the day and the most expensive dish on the menu. A all right meal but only just.

I have tried food all over Newcastle and I know a fresh pasta when I see it..this was by far the best fresh pasta, price is also much lower than other places serving lower grade food in my opinion. The chef is amazing. He is so lovely and approachable. 5 stars from me !!! This is now my Sunday spot for a great pasta 👌👌👌

Great pizza. You have to try the pizza. This was our first visit. Great authentic and original hotel in Carrington. Bar service was excellent. I had the Earp gin cocktail for$18. There’s a choice of 3 different types. Inside and outside seating, plenty of space with a voice of areas to sit, eat and drink.

Great nite, great staff, beautiful dinner, there was a problem with the fire alarm in the morning but the staff were happy to give us half the money back which I thought was very good of them. Nice spit close to Newcastle showground which came in handy

DO NOT STAY IN THE ACCOMMODATION AT THIS PUB. Room was dirty including bed sheets, with the bed not being made up. Crumbs in the fridge. Floor had not been vacuumed. No soap supplied to shower with. EDIT: The owner continually removes my review, to which I re - post in order to inform the public on how this hotel conducts business. It is totally unacceptable to rent a room in the above described condition to anyone..... AVOID AT ALL COSTS.....

Before I give an opinion please note that there were some good things at this accommodation. Firstly the staff were friendly and the food in the hotel was nice. The rooms fell short of a few living standards. The room we were in was so hot and stuffy. The fan rattled so loud, when on high it was impossible to use if you wanted to sleep. There was no air-conditioning and it was so hot inside the room. At the price the rest of the accommodation was ok for a hotel room. I would not stay there again unless they put in air-conditioning. Sorry guys it was so hard to try to sleep and that's all I needed while travelling through Newcastle area.
