Wow what a difference new ownership has made to this local watering hole. The Monday night steak deal is outstanding. High quality food all round. And friendly, professional but most of all, happy staff. Kelsea behind the main bar has a very pleasant demeanour and a genuine customer focus. She helped make for a very pleasant evening. Keep up the good work guys. We’ll be regulars I’m sure.

We went mid week for a quick catch-up with my uncle. Wednesdays are a quite time, it was a great catch up,. The food was lovely and service was really good. We will be back.

Went here for $15 Schnitty Thursday deals and the schnitzels were perfectly cooked! Food came fast and the service was amazing especially Paige! Will come back again 😊

We had the Shafston’s Fat Angus Burger,
It was very good, came with Krispy potato chips.
Since it was a Friday night, we enjoyed our meal with the sound of live music, which made this night even more special.

Was looking for a nice steak meal, popped in with my sister while on holiday and was greeted by lovely friendly staff. The meal was amazing , reasonably priced, steak perfectly cooked. Just in time for happy hour drinks. Thank you to the young girl who served us, wish I’d got her name, she’s an asset to the restaurant

Visited the public bar area last Friday during happy hour- very friendly bar staff (Kiaora) and good area to watch the footy from.welcome change with an attractive lady behind the bar as opposed to the guys usually being there.

Very standard Brisbane pub not far from the Gabba, food was good, had the Aussie burger which was on special,it was good, they advertise the best steak sandwich in town but I didn't try it, others in our group said it was very good

Under new management, and the beloved parmi has suffered as a result.
Using a thin, soggy "schnitzel", which is hard to tell whether the meat inside was real or not, and thin strips of ham instead of a slice.
Is nothing sacred? Stop trying to fix perfection. You've made it so much worse.

Stake is always a winning on Mondays. This time despite the fact of us mentioning we moved table our dinner got deliver wrong. We only got our food when the manager took care of us. She was really quick polite and efficient. However 55 mins wait on food can not only be fixed with 3 extras aioli. Would have been nice to be offer another complimentary option as it was their fault running the food to the wrong table

Shafston Hotel meal area at back is now a better atmosphere for dinner since the renovations and upgraded seating, tables and decor. Have tried the Monday steak special night quite a few times. Steaks are great value for the money with salad, chips and choice of sauces. Usually comes out exactly as ordered. Staff are friendly and helpful. Can be a bit of a wait if busy. Not a great fan of the new menu, compared to the previous chef and menu, which in my opinion was better tasting. Parking availability is quite good. Definitely worth trying. Recommended

On the 1st of July 2023, I celebrated my 50TH year anniversary as a Hairstylist.
As I live about 300 metres from the Shafston Hotel, I decided to have a meeting with Keron, who is the executive manager at the Shafston Hotel.
From the second I sat down with him, to discuss what I had in mind, the amount of guests, sit down dinner, decorating, band, lighting, I was put at ease straight away.
Keron, understood straight away, the importance of my function and the atmosphere I wanted to create.
Well 200 guests filled the downstairs main bar area, the grazing tables for the self serve entrees, the grazing platters for the main course, and again grazing tables for the self serve scrumptious desserts,cheese and fresh fruits looked absolutely magnificent.
Service was efficient, extremely friendly and accommodating, nothing was too much or a bother.
Every and I mean every guests left the party, feeling that they had one amazing night out.
A week later and friends are still talking about it with such enthusiasm and excitement.
Keron, I could not have even imagined how amazing the night turned out, I am a very hard person to please because I look for excellence and professionalism when it comes to entertaining my clients, friends and family, you and your staff truly excelled in every area of customer service and the high standard of which the food was presented and delivered.
There was just nothing to fault.

Love the new furniture in the beer garden. It now has a lovely feel. The new menu is great. The service is friendly and fast.

Last night in Brisbane. Had a great meal at this wonderful local Pub. Amy on the bar was very welcoming and helpful. Made me feel at home. Great service and I had a fantastic Strip loin steak. Juicy, tender, tasty. Really good. Thanks to Scott & the team for a great experience. I will be back with family & friends. 🙂

Just came in for a post work drink and was greeted by Ashleigh, such a sweetie. She went through the wine list with me as I forgot my glasses. Love the vibe that the owners are bringing and clearly the new staff are a much better fit from last time I came in, in 2022 very excited to see how this place takes off.

Jeff, Kiarna and Yen in the Sports bar provide awesome service, Diego in the Pokies and Natalia in the Restaurant always make you feel welcome, New Chef, Great food, Monday Night Steaks, Free Pool tables..!

I like the openness of the Shafston, spacious with some big divider plants, it has a nice vibe. We came for a late lunch but we were still able to get a really well cooked tender steak (with choice of sauce), crunchy chips and delicious steamed veges, fresh and tasty. Friendly service from the 'Balter' staff, and the beer was good too.

Have been going several times a week for years. The food has increased in price, but the quality... has gone the other way. Sad state of affairs
The new owners are clearly trying to do something different (fancy). The Pineapple Hotel, around the corner, is much better and more modest.

Hands down the best rump steak I have ever eaten.
The red wine Jus is the perfect complement to a perfectly cooked steak. 🥩
The service was impeccable with a special mention to the lovely Paige 🫶🏼❤️

Great venue with heaps of space and plenty of big screen TV'S to watch a good mix of sports on display. Can be a little cold in the back bar area.
The food is amazing, I am a massive fan of a chicken Parmigiana and had one of the best one of these at the Shafston. Oh, and the creamy mushroom gravy was absolutely amazing.
Good selection of tap beer available.
The place is clean, staff are friendly and service is efficient.
Definitely be back here myself.

Great local with an awesome Monday night steak special. Food is good and haven't had a bad a bad service experience yet. Join their member program to get more discounts and loyalty points.
Have been coming here for almost two years now, and it's still as friendly and consistent as ever. Staff always make you feel welcome and remember your "usual". Good spot for free pool tables at lunch too.

Came in with the family, I had the Karaage Burger and wife had the Gnocchi. Both were delicious and the service amazing. Will definitely be returning to try more items from the menu.

Basically, I find reasons to leave site because of the lovely atmosphere and staff ! Special mention has to go to all the girls in the pokies rooms and bar staff ! I have to personally thank kiarna for all of the lovely chats !

All the staff is absolutely great!
Kiarna M is the most friendly barmaid ive experienced. She is the reason why i always come back to the shafton! Keep uo the treat work!

3.5* really but can’t leave a 3, that’s not fair, so went with a 4. My go to with pub food is either parmy, or steak. Got the parmy here and it was good, but not great. The chips were hot, crunchy and fresh cooked, the salad was fresh but the actual parmy was jus bland. The toppings just had no flavour…0. The staff are nice and there is a great selection of beers.
