Off Highway A1, this laid-back roadside hotel is 1 km from Mackay Regional Botanic Gardens and 4 km from Bluewater Lagoon water park. We went here for dinner while we were staying in Mackay, it's a nice and friendly place, staff were very helpful, food came out quickly and was very nice, I have the barramundi. Would recommend it to anyone travelling through the area

Went there for food. They had pie of the day, and it massive. It was steak and diana pie. Very nice customer services. Was the last group to leave to place, and they will still be happy to service us. I know they wanted to clean up and go home, too, so we ate fast and left

We are often visiting the Shammy bistro & recently had the pleasure of attending a 30 birthday party in the small function room. We were looked after by 2 staff members. The young blonde lady was very engaging & hospitable. Thanks for making the night a great one for everyone !

Took family to the Shamrock for a lovely dinner, before flying back to Melbourne. Delicious! Table was set out lovely and the ambience was great, not too noisy.
Food was outstanding. Quality meat, fresh vegetables (not frozen) and just caught seafood. The meals were generous portions, all but one finished their entire meal.
Presentation showed the kitchen cared and took pride in what they served their clientele.
Had many choices- Specials Board, Large or Smaller portions and all priced accordingly. Chef's,
Table and Food Servery staff very efficient. The plates removed seamlessly and we were asked if we were happy with our meals.
Only letdown... drink service. Not enough bar staff for the people dining. When served though, staff member was polite, offered choice, advice and I appreciated the tray to carry the tables drinks safely. Will be back to eat at the Shamrock when we come home to Mackay throughout the year.

This place is the best hot wings in town.
Always had a good time in the bar side. They did a great job at a couple of events I've been there for.
But the wings. If they change the wings I'll stop going there out of spite.

The Monday night $18 200g Rump and Chips deception deal. Made a booking for a table for 4 for 6:30pm. Got a drink. Place was less than half full. Went to order about 6:50pm and told they had sold out of the 200g Rump but they did have the 250g Rump for $34. When asked why dont they just chop 50g off the bigger one was told not possible. Seemed a bit of a rort and deceptive behaivour. Its not like the place was heaving and demand was much higher than expected. Beers are also very expensive for a suburban joint. No XXXX on tap in Queensland for heavens sake.

Stopped for lunch. Good pub food. Reasonable prices. Quick service and gave us a take away container for the food we couldn’t eat because we were full.

Stayed here on the way to Brisbane. Very happy with the exceptional service and delicious food. The rooms are also very well maintained and have all the ammenities that you need, they really have thought of everything. The value for money is also quite note worthy, for what you pay you get a lot and more. Highly recommend A+

Stayed at Shamrock Gardens Hotel and went here for Dinner, great price, friendly service, food came very quickly despite the amount of patrons, and food was very good! Would come here again.

I was ordering dinner and wanted to use 2 cards to cover the total ! The lady serving me was lovely but didn't know how to do it and asked a worker to help and he said they can't do it because there was issues previously with not putting the right amounts in the system ! Pretty piss poor I've never had any issues using 2 separate cards before for payment ! What a joke !

It has everything you want a venue to have pool table, pokies, great food, friendly staff, new look, hotel, keno, drive through bottle'o i don't know what more you could ask for 😊💯❤

Have just spent 8 nights at the shamrock garden motel this is our 2nd visit couldn't fault the service from housekeeping to the staff in restaurant all are polite & willing to help if possible highly recommended we will back

Had dinner here this evening and it was excellent! Really nice hotel, large dining area with indoor & outdoor seating, nice decor. Staff are pleasant and very efficient. My husband had Caesar Salad with Chicken and I had Ranch Salad, really fresh, tasty and healthy. Good serving sizes and they came out quickly - very impressed! Busy for a Wednesday night, recommend booking a table.

Had a prawn linguine was smaller than any entre I’ve ever had, waiter couldn’t care less flavor was good but went home hungry very disappointing

Had an amazing "21st birthday" lunch celebration [for a once every four years 29 February birthday] with family and friends. Food and drinks were great, as usual for the Shamrock. All the staff were amazing with helping setup table decorations, balloons and bringing out a 21st birthday cake with candles for dessert.
The restaurant managers and staff went above and beyond to make it a special event, with superior customer service that is a real hallmark of the Shamrock Hotel in all areas. Many thanks!!

Great rooms. I like that they supplied the continental breakfast in the rooms so I didn't have see other people before breakfast. Very clean and comfortable. Amazing water pressure in the shower. Meals are sometimes great, sometimes not.

First time to this hotel. Friendly helpful staff. Great meal in the bistro. Reasonably priced. Gluten free lemon pepper calamari was delicious & tender. Nice salad with plenty of chips. Definitely recommend.

Didn't enjoy....ordered fish, this massive piece of fish was so oily, it was soaked through...the salad consisted of a bowl of lettuce with a couple of pieces of tomato, onion & cucumber. The chips would have been good, but they were covered with oil from the fish...not pleasant, went home totally unsatisfied.

Absolutely yum, I had the 300g Rib Fillet with Surf n Turf. I would highly recommend the food here. The staff go above and beyond. Thank you!
