What a great town. It is quiet but has important aspects such as coffee shops and a supermarket. The resort is central and has all that one would want. The restaurant has a great menu, and the pokies area has tasty coffee. The rooms are very comfortable.

Went there to see Wendy matthews in concert. The setting was great, but not enough shade outside. The advertised start time was out by two hours, it seemed like they wanted to get people in early to buy more food and drink. Then there was not enough seating for the number of people they were letting in. To me it seem they needed as many people in as they could. If they are going to do that, increase the shade, increase the seating. At least one person collapsed due to the heat and at no time did I see a first-aid attendant. Duty of care guys. Money is money, but customer service should be at the top of your list

We had dinner at the restaurant on one evening and then take away pizza on another evening. Both experiences were excellent. With the restaurant within easy walking distance of the accommodation ir provides an excellent dining opportunity.

We had a meal last night. Great sized menu with variety and not the usual pub style meals.. Food was excellent. Good size portions. Tasty and excellent presentations. Some hadsmaller options (see pic for large and small fish and chips)Prices seemed fair. Staff were friendly and attentive. Chelsea was great. There is indoor and outdoor seating, appears there is music played at various times. Small kids play area, giant chess/checkers board to keep them entertained 😆 All on the flat so all accessible for wheelchairs etc.

The units are tired and need updating, there was mould in and around the shower. For a unit that could sleep 6 the comfortable seating was inadequate. However the service was prompt when we needed it and the view over the golf course was lovely. The staff were all very friendly and helpful and we found the meals in the dining area very good.

The resort is very good. Has everything you could wish for..except one thing..excitement.|The two bedroom suites are very spacious, light-filled and comfortable .Good Wifi and a big TV is in place.| Shearwater is probably a lovely quiet town to retire. However for the visiting tourist, there isn't much to do there. The tiny shopping centre is a giveaway. Real Estate offices in force as well as a large Dental Surgery. As a result, we did a number of short day trips to Cradle Mountain and Devonport.|As to the resort, the office reception is strong on providing details on local attractions.||Tips: Avoid F Section,it is a centre for a lot of amplified voices. section F is enclosed and sound really travels. There is a laundrette there with people coming and going. Also, there is a room for the staff and you will hear them chattering early in the morning.

Shearwater resort had the most amazing, helpful and informative manager at reception check in. He helped booking activities and was very knowledgeable about the sites to visit during the stay. It was a lovely resort to stay in and relax. Thank you, Shearwater resort.

Rooms are a bit dated but very clean. Staff are very friendly. They have a restaurant on site. Unfortunately the chef quit, while we were there and we were unable to dine there. ( one of the reasons for selecting the place) and we had to travel to Devonport to eat out. No body's fault and I feel for the other staff as they had no work while the restaurant is closed. We Wooli be back.

Over all we enjoy our stay, however. This "resort" has seen better days. The room. Was very dirty and dusty. The fan in the room was caked in dust. No air con in the room so it was very unpleasant, also the showers are very bad. The morning we checked out we had no got water . We had a downstairs room and the noise coming from upstairs and through the walls was unacceptable. The pools were nice but the spa near one of the pools is in dire need of some repairs. I hope this place gets some upgrades in the future and a cleaner who knows how to dust.

I would like to thank the staff for their wonderful service but I would also like to say that the cooks in the kitchen at the restaurant need to put more care into the food they serve. I’ve eaten there three times with my partner, each of us have had different meals each time and have been thoroughly disappointed. Please take this review into consideration to better the food you give visitors as it is your weakest link.

Have been coming here for over 30 years. We have time share and it a shame we cannot see more of our annual maintenance fees being spent in the rooms. The facilities and rooms are always clean and staff clean the BBQ areas daily We always enjoy the golf course and it is an easy, flat walk. Across the road are some nice cafes and shops are worth a look.

Great spot for touring around Tasmania's top half. Loved the closeness of the beaches and outlying areas. Very helpful owners/receptionists. Clean and tidy (although a bit dated). Found the two bedroom apartment would only be suitable for a family group rather than 2 couples. Need an oven or airfryer in kitchen as we only had microwave and hobs for cooking - no fries!!!

Great room, well appointed and comfy. Would recommend this resort to anyone. Very good amenities. Rooms are quiet. Lovely balcony to be able to sit out on over looking the golf course. With in easy reach of the beach.

Good, comfortable accommodation in a lovely setting with our unit having beautiful views over the golf course and a very good size balcony. Waves bistro served up a lovely meal and their seafood crowded was delicious. There's also a Bottle-O on site as well as a very big indoor heated pool and gym.

First time staying here at Shearwater Resort in Tasmania through Timeshare. It's a very lovely peaceful resort with a golf course, two indoor swimming pools, a spa and sauna, laundry room, an on-site restaurant (Waves Bar and Grill), Bottle-o liquor store, games room, bike hire and more. We stayed in number 11 overlooking the golf course. It features two bedrooms, two queen sized beds and twin bunk beds, a kitchenette, dining table and lounge with large flat screen TV, a bathroom with shower, bath and toilet plus a balcony with beautiful views and garden below. It's a very spacious apartment, though I do have some feedback about some of the fittings. There's no ceiling fans in any of the rooms nor is there air conditioning, though the pedestal fan did make a difference as it can get quite hot and stuffy in the bedrooms. The exhaust fan and shower/bath in the bathroom are both very outdated and need to be upgraded. The shower screen only has one panel of glass. The cupboards are also very old but still are in good working order. The spa pool is also in need of maintenance as there's too much pressure coming through the jets along the wall and it splashes a lot. The service from the reception staff and cleaners was very friendly and approachable. They have many different events and group activities during the week that you can attend and book in for. Overall I really enjoyed my experience here.

First time here and definitely not the last! Craig's attention to detail and quality advice were so good: his local knowledge was most invaluable. Never having been to this part of Tasmania before, he introduced us to the north west and provided the personal touch: organising our 1/2 day wine tour, advice for attractions and bush walks, nothing was too much. We loved the facilities, and it was great to have the bistro on site as well. We were so busy, we never got to play golf for which we received vouchers! This is a must location because you are never too far from anything. We look forward to returning!!

Firstly this resort is in an amazing location, its about a 5 min walk to the beach, great golf course, close to the shops. It has everything going for it.||We found the facilities to be ok, they were clean, comfortable size wise however they are quite dated and really do need updating, it just feels tired inside the rooms. The decks are great space to use especially for the kids.||The pool was great but again the area just need a little bit of updating and it would be back to the amazing facility it used to be when I first visited as kid.||Having said that you get exactly what you pay for and the price was really good. So I think if you go in with your eyes open and enjoy the experience you can look past the other stuff

Felt like 70’s retro, carpet up the wall, plastic covers on the dining table, dark timber cabinets and a spa perhaps passed its use by date, we needed bomb alaskas and cheese fondues to be truly late 60’s or 70’s!!

A large group of us had a meal. The food was excellent - fresh, well cooked, generous serves. Service was friendly, and the atmosphere family friendly. Great experience.

Abysmal place to stay - like a dinghy rent by the hour motel not a timeshare resort - no heating - 1960s furniture - dishwasher doesn't work - no oven - asked for disability unit - had to go up outside uncovered stairs and use a shower over the bath. No laundry in units - only 2 washing machines for the block of dinghy units and only open 8-8pm. Advertised heated pool but the titantic would have been sunk earlier if using this. Avoid at all costs.

A beautiful place with views of the ocean just beyond the golf course. Rooms were neat and clean and the actual apartment was very roomy. Offers you everything you need plus more (heated pool and jacuzzi and sauna)
