We really enjoyed our dinner, just two of us. Large meals. Only neg was the server brought out our mains before clearing our table from entree’s and proceeded to squeeze them onto the table with no room.

We didn't have a reservation but we were able to get a table. My friend ordered risotto which she loved. I had 'food envy' as I ordered the Morrocan roast vegetable and chicken couscous. The roast vegetables 'walked through on stilts' and the chicken 'flew over the dish' . Meal was lacking in flavour. It was very disappointing and at $28.00, not cheap. Dish was the size of a small soup bowl. Haven't been here for a meal for about 6 years. Won't be rushing back. Staff were pleasant. Place was clean. Music was too loud for those wanting to talk over dinner. Wine by the glass at about $12 was reasonable. However, my friend said parmigiana night is worth a visit.

Tried the Guinness last night, I've drank plenty of Guinness around the world so I do know what a good Guinness is, unfortunately it wasn't great.
Average head and it was served pretty chilled which was a first for me. I tried to split the G and nearly ended up with a brain freeze.
Ordered a chicken pie for dinner (chef special) pretty tasty but I wish there was more average size portion. Great for a lunch but small for dinner.
I will be back just up the temp on the Guinness.

The team at Sir Barkly were awesome! Eric served us at the bar and had a fun professional charm.. along with his happy and friendly coworkers.. food was yum and came out quick considering it was quite busy..

The food had soooo much salt you really could not eat it. It felt like the whole packet of salt was thrown in the food mine and my friends meals.
The Chef or Manager never came out to speak to us with an apology or say we would get the meal for free even thou we ate about a quarter because we were very hungry by the time we ordered. We will never go back again or we would not recommend to family or friends.

Stumbled in for a quick bite, ended up with the "small bites" special, which was anything but small, with a side of kipflers. All this washed down with a blizzardly cold pale ale. A great place for a a very tasty and we'll prepared meal. Would recommend

Spent more than 30 minutes waiting for two mains, when they came out the steak was overcooked and the vegetarian parma was inedible; so raw I couldn't cut it and tasted freezer burnt. Left most of it uneaten. Paid almost $70 and didn't even get an edible meal.
Save yourself some time an inconvenience and go to maccas.

Really great food. Atmosphere in the beer/sports garden/bar (enclosed) was really good. High top tables too for a casual vibe. Menu had a great selection with special and food was hot and tasty. Serves were large especially the large parmas. Would go back.

Not bad for a suburban local. The food was pretty good. I had the Parma: great to have one with a flavoursome tomato sauce, and ham with flavour. My partner tried the lamb cutlets - nice and crispy..
Service was good, everyone polite, smiling and helpful.
We were sat in front of the terrace, which was actually quite cold: good thing I brought a jacket. It's a generally noisy environment.

My husband and I had dinner here tonight. The food was delicious as usual. Assorted dumplings, wedges, and Angus beef sliders.

My girlfriend & myself went to Sir Henry’s for lunch on Sunday!
We ordered scotch fillet steak @$48.
It was as tough as!!

Love this pub. We live locally and especially enjoy the weekly specials, which are such great deals. The food is awesome, venue has several great areas which would suit any type of gathering but the best thing about this hotel is the amazing staff. Each area is always well staffed which is unusual post covid. Management must be doing something right! Tom at the bar is exceptional - nothing is too much trouble and he makes an amazing cocktail. Highly recommend

Juicy succulent char grilled steak. The salad is nice. 🥩🥗
But they shouldn’t charge extra for the sauce. That is very stupid. Lucky to get 5 stars if charging for sauce especially when the sauce ain’t amazing.
And what’s with the rip off price on the balter beer? Just make it $13 a pint.

It's the better of the pub bistro options available in Heidelberg. Sitting in the eating area, there's no visible poker machines, and very little smoke drifting towards you from the outdoor lung cancer lounge. The decor is nice and modern, there's plenty of space for kids to move around and overall a spacious feeling. The food is on point about 80% of the time, and delicious when it is. I recently had a lamb ragu pasta which was rich and homely in it's tomato-ey goodness, and my wife had the crumbed lamb cutlets which were quite moreish. Servings were suitably pub-sized large. I guess I would say, it's 5 stars for pub food in the area, but not the best pub food I've ever had (hence 4). Same for the service - friendly and efficient, but not 'go out of your way' friendly and efficient.

It’s a good pub experience. Very nice service from young friendly kids. We took the tapas option which is great value. We couldn’t finish it! The food was tasty. The mini sliders were beauties, and the duck spring rolls were good too. $24 for the meal was good. Wine was pretty well priced

Great setting an environment, beautiful food. Ordered a Parma and margarita pizza, both cooked perfectly with fresh produce. Staff are also very friendly, great customer service. No complaints from me or my wife :)

Great local, two massive TV screens to watch the footy with a few more smaller ones scattered to the side. Lots of beers on tap (staples of Carlton dry and draught), food is decent and staff is friendly.

Friendly staff, tasty food (tofu stirfry and tofu Moroccan salad) and nice atmosphere. High ceiling in 'beer garden' area (earthy brick undercover area) made it very comfortable on a 32 degrees day. Would certainly come back again when in the area.

Friday night Parma in the new and modernised Sir Henry Barkly hotel was great. Food was delicious and so was my prosecco. A popular place with locals. Great pub with a nice vibe. I will go back. And ... i did go back, this time had a parma and pot on a Thursday night. The eggplant parma and house sparkling were perfect, the parma was served with a better than usual green leaf salad, had mushrooms and cherry tomato. The chips are still crunchy and delicious.

The food was ok but not especially notable, just basic pub meals. I made a mistake of getting a risotto at a pub.
Good reviews of the steaks though.
Staff were friendly and hard working on a pretty busy weeknight

Start of Service 5/5
*The staff that greeted us are friendly and polite, professional as well. I did catch one Waiter roll their eyes when noone could hear / claim for a coffee order in our big group, in terms of that, probdbly best not to roll your eyes and keep it behind closed doors not out in the open. Still, we are all human, so not marking any points down for this given the group size, numbers of people and the order!
Food 5/5
*Steak was cooked great, portion was very generous and was soft and delicious!
*Burger was also massive which came with fries as well to make you even fuller, I ordered a double patty not knowimg how big it was gonna be, boy, I had a big stomach after! Wasn't mind blowing, nor bad, but extremely good int erms of value and size. Great for a pub burger.
*Salmon was cooked to perfection, mum absolutely raved on and on about it and wants to come back. What needs more comments? Great!

*The size and value for all the dishes across the menu was extremely well priced and generously portioned. Please don't change! Very affordable, noone will leave hungry!

*Pub style, clean, modern and well themed. Mostly senior that dine here/tradie type/function but anyone can come here!

*Staff regularly came to clear dishes, refill jugs, always a staff presence which is very very good and were not over the top or under. Well done!

Awesome venue.. With amazing quality food along with very good choice of Beverage and happy and courteous service. Highly Recommend and definately gem in the suburbs.

As a pub Sir Henry Barkly deserves 5 stars. The food seems to be standard pub fare like parmi and fish&chips but their kitchen is better than average quality. I ordered dumplings to have something smaller and the portion was actually great size! What's even better the presentation and taste was above what I expected/ I will definitely be back here for more!

After waiting 1 hour for a 3 tapas dishes it didn't get better!
Saganaki was delicious, the duck spring rolls didn't taste at all like duck, and the pork belly bites tasted great but thumb nail size just didn't cut it! All the other photos where so different what we got.
Apparently the steak is good, so I my have to come back and try that?
