We love the Smithfield Tavern, it’s a family favourite. The service is fast and friendly. All the meals are great, we’ve never had a bad meal. So many choices and good portions.

Tonight we had the 200g rump steak medium and it was perfectly cooked with just the right amount if char on it and the salad and chips with pepper sauce was delicious and the price was great($20).
We'll be back.

The Schnitzel V, was fresh crunchy and delicious. The salad made a well balanced meal and overall refreshing, the chips were yummy too.
When I, asked the counter for tomato sauce they instantly went to the kitchen and got me some.

My friends and I are the only regulars at this place, we are there almost every week. Tonight, our food was dry and overcooked with hair in one of our sauces. When asked for a refund the manager was being disrespectful and concluded that she wouldn’t remake it or give a refund. Also, the fact they took almost half an hour to make ours drinks when we order through QR codes they have all over this place. After 3 hours of us drinking, eating and spending money in this place the manager has the audacity to tell us to leave after we sat down from playing pool with bogus excuses. It was clear that she only told us to leave as she knew we were done spending money. We have never had any problems under the other managers but this girl has had an issue with my friends and I for absolutely no reason. Disgusting attitude and behaviour. We will not back and now let’s see who else is willing to spend money on weekly basis. LOLL

My first time dining for dinner here and won’t be my last. I didn’t have much expectations but the food was nice for the area but the customer service given by Jon made the experience better.

Just a classic, old school type pub. Came in for a meal by myself and had a pleasant time. Staff were super friendly and helpful. Food was really tasty and they accommodated my request to modify, plus such good value for money, big portions for a reasonable price.

If I were able to give 0 stars I would do just that. Do yourselves a favour and don’t buy any food from here. I purchased steak from here that took well over 30 mins to arrive, it was burnt and had with HAIR in my sauce. When I spoke to an employee regarding the poor food quality, I was graced with attitude and complete resentment towards a PAYING customer. In addition to all this, the manager approached me saying she refuses to give me a refund or even remake my food forgetting a reasonable excuse to match her disgusting attitude. Not to mention, this said manager has made it her shift mission to find unreasonable excuses to remove us from the premises. While playing a game of 8ball pool, we were instructed to “stop being so loud” and to “stop disrupting other customers” WHEN WE WERE THE ONLY PEOPLE IN THERE. Moreover, if you plan on having a night that includes fun, make sure this manager isn’t there. Don’t lose your DIGNITY by coming here.

Smithfield tavern has a great atmosphere. ....👌👌👌👌.Its not overly busy but not completely quiet. ....👍👍There is adequate seating, TV's and an outdoor smoke area.

Came in with the fam and had the 400gr grazier rump steaks and the schnitzel with mushroom sauce. Premises was very large and clean. Steaks were cooked perfectly! could not fault whatsoever. The schnitzel was pretty good also. Service was amazing. Very friendly and welcoming. Really wished the ribs were available, maybe next time. Also, shame the table ordering system wasn’t operational for food items, hopefully the table ordering system is back up and running soon. All in all, not bad at all. Definitely recommend it if you are in the area.

Came here tonight food was terrible my friend had pan seared barramundi had no taste at all I had a steak sandwich which came on a bun it said mustard sauce felt like there was none on there and last drinks were dearer than most pubs we have been too

Came here for dinner on a Friday night with my partner. Staff were very friendly which is always a plus. As far as atmosphere goes it's a tavern so it's pretty nice and basic. The meals were really nice, the pork belly was melt in your mouth, parmigiana was crispy on the outside and tender on the inside. Chips and salad were fresh. Highly recommended place for dinner of you're interested in honest pub food

Came for dinner with my old mum . Aircon on cold during winter and door wide open . 2 other people in pub . Ordered rissoles , mash n peas and they took 25 mins to get . Mash was dry , rissoles were tough and horrible , peas were nice . We had to sit in TAB room so the wind didn't blow on us from the open door . The meal came and the lady told us to go and get cutlery from where she just brought the meals from . (Great customer service ....... Not ! ) Last time we eat here . $50 later . We only came to check the food so we could have all the family and friends come here for her 89th birthday .

Asked for a pan sealed barramundi and it had been grilled you could see and taste the lines was not nice my friend asked for the steak sandwich and got a burger when he said he asked for a sandwich the waiter new chef, so it's hard to decipher between a bunch and sandwich, very disappointed, won't eat there again

Another doggie place with disrespectful stuff. It's 9.45 and I wanted to have a quick beer. They said the bar is shut without any calling for last drinks. They're opened till ten and I could finish my drink within 10 minutes and be out before closing time. But no I wasn't playing pokies I played pool and had two rounds of drinks for us so I guess not much of making money from us. Dogs !

A friend that visited here previously recommended Smithfield Tavern & their steak, said it was one of the best in the area. He wasn’t wrong, was skeptical, but was pleasantly surprised how good the steak was. Heard they recently changed kitchen too.
The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, which is rare for taverns/pubs, they usually always overcook.
Very reasonably priced too at $17, but they have a special for lunch for $15, would have to say this is one of the best value steak I have had in Sydney.
Fries are cooked very well and have a good crunch to them. Sauce didn’t cost anything extra with a wide variety and good serving size too. Service was friendly and we were served very quickly, really can’t fault this meal @ all.
