Went there for a lovely Wednesday lunch with my partner and my father in law, the staff were very friendly, the food was good and it was a really nice atmosphere.

Went for a family lunch. The online booking process was not reliable, resulting in two phone calls.
Meals were mostly good - well priced and tasty ( except for apple crumble which at $10 was more like a small unappetising slice )
Service was ok and facilities fresh and child friendly.

We have been coming to Somerville Hotel for some years now, whenever we visit our dear old childhood friend who lives in Somerville, but must be in a wheelchair.
We all drove from Williamstown, Glen Iris, Heidelberg and Latrobe Valley so we certainly were looking for a good lunch.
The staff were SO helpful, even giving us a table in the front "al fresco court" area as we needed a quiet space.
The food was absolutely beautiful and we had a lovely visit.
Thanks Somerville Hotel.

We booked in for the Trivia night once and have since been back to have food and drinks. Food was lovely.
Staff/Management very friendly and service was great.

We are not happy with the meal. The Chicken Parma was rubbery. And the calamari was not very good as it tasted like potato.The atmosphere was great but the staff were stressed and couldn’t handle the pressure. Most of the staff were very helpful but they were running around like a headless chicken.

The staff impressed us no end!
Dropped by for lunch over Easter as we had been here once before. We had an initial issue with the QR ordering system but once we had that sorted lunch did not take too long.
We ordered the Fisherman’s Catch and the special of Salmon Fillet with Garlic Prawns and Calamari (with extra prawn toppers for both) but unfortunately the Salmon was missing the prawn toppers. After a bit of back and forth the prawns were delivered separately. The food itself was not bad (not sure the salmon in particular, was worth the $38 price point as it was a bit dry) but we let it slide due to the high standard of service.
Thanks to Justin (solving the QR code issue) and Ella (sorting out the missing prawns), both were so friendly and helpful and are definite assets to the Somerville Hotel team!

The hotel was clean and tidy nice to walk into specially the staff they were very welcoming!

Thank you Somerville hotel, we were one of the lucky streets with the “Streets eat discount” my neighbour and myself walked down and had a polite welcoming from a young man, showed us to our table and said show your ID when ordering, the food was great! Tasty and a decent serving. We both left full and happy! Good job Somerville pub! 😊

Stumbled on this hotel by accident, 3 nights ago, looking for a pub for dinner. Have to say we definitely were not disappointed, staff were absolutely wonderful, the food was fantastic and delicious. We decided to go back tonight, just to confirm, and let me tell you nothing had changed! Will be back next time we are in the area.

Sorry somerville hotel, i did really want to give you 5 stars but I couldn't. There were 11 of us but I can only review 3 of the meals. The 2 beer battered fish was a bit tasteless and not very crispy and pretty much the same for the calamari .

Service was great, very friendly FOH.
Trivia night was going, the man running it was engaging and great for the gig.
Nice and clean looking establishment.
Food was a bit of a let down, mainly my meal.
Meals took an hour and a half to arrive (four people on our table).
My steak (ordered med-well) was the worst steak I've ever received.
It was so thin and dry, cooked so far past well done. Don't even know how that's possible, other than pure neglect!
How you could serve that to someone is beyond me?
I'd waited so long in the first place, I didn't want to get any sort of a replacement meal.. I'd not have that chef send me another unseasoned dry sad little offering.
So just sucked it up and ate my sides mainly.
Only writing this as I feel management really needs to know of this chefs lack of consistency, absolutely appalling.
Who ever was on grill the night of 17/04, really needs to be put onto the cold larder section for some quiet self reflection.
Seafood platter on special was very generous.
Burgers looked good.. aside from the bacon that was barely cooked, that got the side eye too.
Still would recommend this pub as it had so many positive things to offer!

My family and I have been to the Somerville Hotel on many occasions. We eat in the Bistro, and the grandkids also enjoy playing in the playroom. There are many positives to talk about.
You can order and pay via scanning a code at your table that brings up the menu/drinks on your mobile, or you can order at the counter.
Fast service from professional and friendly staff.
A calm atmosphere and comfortable chairs.
Disability access.
The wide variety of well cooked food choices, including specials, are of great quality.
The food is served in generous portions that are appealing to the eye.
Requests for minor changes to meals are readily accommodated.
Dietary preferences/requirements are available.
The playroom is secure for the kids.
Overall, it's a really inviting place to go for a memorable meal.

Looks promising from the outside. Nice building and tastefully designed inside.
Food was average. I don't recommend the chicken burger, it was like eating a rubber tyre. The schnitzel I had that replaced it was just a generic frozen fried schnitzel served with some too blonde chips and a side salad with no dressing.I could taste. Pretty average unfortunately. The kitchen could be so much better than it is with a chef who likes fresh made food.
Judy behind the bar was lovely and friendly and made our experience warm.
Unfortunately the smoking area had no formal undercover area for rainy days like today. 5 of us today left pretty quickly after food as there was nowhere to sit, enjoy a drink, chat and chill outside as all smokers.

I have tried repeatedly to contact management of this establishment so this was not publicly published but I never received a response.
Dear Sir/Madam
We as a large group dined in your bistro prior to attending a private function at your venue Saturday 11/5/24 diner booking for 6pm .
The gentleman on the front desk was very polite and professional.
However the lady who was apparently titled manager was a total disgrace with little or no ability to fulfill her title. Unable to represent the hotel with dignity or professionalism.
My husband and his friends ordered drinks from the bar , she was rude , angry and clearly out of her depth with her responsibilities . We then ordered our meals , I personally ordered , mushroom risotto with bacon , no chicken ,as I am highly allergic to chicken and it will result in hospitalisation if I consume.
Your very sweet employee who carried out her instructions precisely.(who unfortunately did give me a filthy look as I left,I can only assume her so called manager had misled her ,this action was noted by many friends).
After a couple of mouthfuls it was apparent it contained chicken . I approached the under skilled manager only to be told that , they are so busy and I’ll be waiting a long while for a replacement meal in fact I may not even get one at all .
I simply said that will not suit as we would be required in the function room and thank you for nothing as that is what she informed me I would have to except…nothing . It turns out one of my friends on our table had been given my meal and had only eaten half of it . I chose to eat the remainder and forget it ..until your rude manager approaches our table and loudly remarked to me in front of many patrons, that she will not except her staff being spoken to as I did . I asked her to please come back to me as I would have explained to her I was not talking to any staff member apart from her and it would be beneath me to be disrespectful . She stormed off still carrying on . So in closing
It was an experience I will never subject myself or anyone else to engage in again .
Your manager needs to rethink her customer service abilities perhaps selecting a career more suited to her personality.
Thankfully the reaction to the chicken was mild .

I get excited when my daughter says let’s eat at the Sommerville Hotel
Yum yum ... been here a few times and a few others in the area ... I rate this the highest.. always clean n tidy ... yes had a few issues wen signing in not my fault , their system but after the service n when the food arrived ... omg 😱
So excited after not being able to get here during Covid ... it was so damn Great !!!
10/10 n more ... always fresh n tasty and Awesome food

Horrible wait times for 2 of the 5 meals. 3 had already finished before others got their meal and it took 2 complaints for them to do something and one of the 2 meals that was delivered after so long was the fish and chips which was like rubber and overcooked. Too bad there isn’t a 0 star option. This isn’t the first time we have had problems with wait times last time took over an hour

Had a great day at Ratts Tatts and Pun ups Sunday 15th, bands were awesome car show and stalls were amazing, big turnout! Thanks to Gavin and Kingpin Events for having us perform

Been here at least 3 or 4 times over the last 2 years and it is really quite sub par even for a pub. I have to question these great reviews, it makes no sense to me, perhaps they have not left somerville to eat? The decor is nice but thats about it. Food is average at best.

As a child I remember our family and the Moorabbin Baseball Club used to travel from Melbourne down to The Somerville Hotel for their Sunday night smorgasbord. It was always a fun night and over 45 years later it’s great to see the pub has had a spruce. Looks great and the staff were great. Well worth a visit when you’re down Mornington Peninsula way.

Always a good time! Venue has a great atmosphere with great food. The service is always top-notch and all staff (including management) are friendly and accomodating making every visit enjoyable.
The annual footy tipping comp is always a bit of fun, offering weekly prizes and the opportunity for some friendly banter with management. Highly recommend!!

6 meals ordered, none rates above 5 out of 10, Ceasar Salad was a zero out of 10. All meals are nothing more than pre cooked out of a box.
