We were visiting as my nephew had his nsw title at the dubbo speedway have to give give credit were credit is due Food was absolutely amazing staff were lovely over all 10/10

We were staying in Dubbo for a few days and found this on google maps.
Exactly what you want a suburban pub to be. Indoor and outdoor seating areas, great food with deals each day of the week, and friendly service. They are clearly doing something right, it was packed on a Wednesday night! Locals and visitors.
A fabulous fenced playground area makes this a very family friendly pub.

We took family out for dinner on Saturday. It took more than an hour to arrive. We saw a promotion for Wednesday night and thought it would be quicker and good value. It turned out the promotion was not as good as advertised, even after trying to clarify with staff 2 times! We made a complaint to management. They said they would train staff but neglected to offer anything more than an apology. Disappointed!!

We stopped here on our way through Dubbo for dinner and it was a great meal for the price. Also huge kids play area which is always a bonus when travelling with kids.

We ordered a chicken schnitzel and parmegian chicken with a drink. I thought the pineapple drink would be made fresh but it was poured out of a tetra pack onto a glass with loads of ice and it doesn't justify the price. The bar/restaurant smelled of cigarette smoke, so we couldn't sit inside even if we wanted to. Coming to the food, the fried layer was too crisp for our liking but the mushroom gravy was quite tasty. Good amount of chips and salads was a plus, and we couldn't finish the meal. Good size kids play area on the outside just near the seating area.

Went here midday on a Monday and the lady serving the bar couldn't do enough to make us feel welcome. We ordered the chicken ceasar salad and it was right up there with the best I've had. Proper cooked chicken breast and plenty of it. Well done!

Went for a friend's birthday dinner with a fairly large number. Nothing was a trouble for the staff and service was quick. Meal prices were exceptional and the meals were of high quality. It was an affordable celebration, enjoyed by all of us. 👍🙂

We had our staff Christmas party in the private room upstairs, and it was fantastic! The Christmas meal provided was delicious, and they did an excellent job catering for several gluten free guests. We also loved that we could play our own music over the built in speakers, and that there is a private bar in the room too

We had a great time here. The playground was the best part as it kept our son busy whilst we were relaxing, enjoying our drink and food! ;) (main reason we came here!) The outdoor dining area directly connected to playground allows us to supervise our son playing whilst providing good pub athmosphere. The food was good and well priced. We will come back again the next time we visit Dubbo.

We ate here last night and it was such a nice experience. We are in town for a wedding and weren’t sure where to go for dinner. The staff are so welcoming and friendly. Food was excellent and priced really well. I got the steak chips and salad for about $20. Steak was cooked perfectly medium rare and even though it was busy everyone was being looked after. We will definitely be back again!

Visited Thursday night for Ribs & Rump. Fast service, staff friendly and with a smile. Made you feel welcomed. Food was great.

Two adult and two child meals. All cold. Nothing worse than cold hard chips, let alone steak and kids pizza. Left hungry as none of us could finnish. Over 100 dollars wasted.
At least the kids playground was great and general atmosphere of tavern was nice.

They are very nice here you also get free soft drinks if you're playing the pokies,kid friendly and they have a little park as well.

Relaxed venue, family friendly, cold drinks and great value meals. An easy night out for dinner and drinks from friendly staff.

On an overnight stop travelling from Brisbane to Adelaide and we were sick of takeaway food. Had a fantastic reef n beef here and the staff were super friendly.

More than an hour to wait for a meal, very disappointed. Good chips but the rest are very overvalued. $80 for two plates, taste like pub style, normally the price is $12.50 each🙃

Had a friend in town, so we went up to the south Dubbo Tavern for a counter lunch it was absolutely magnificent even the chef came out and had a chat. Very friendly staff, nice dining area, great food and cold beer.

Food is ok, and reasonable priced. I ordered delivery on the 5th April for approximately 7:30-7:45pm. It didn’t arrive to almost 8:20pm, as I had to pick my wife up from work there was almost going to be no one home to collect it. My wife didn’t like her steak as she found the chargrill on the steaks to be a bit too burnt. It seems to be an issue more confined to the Tavern.

Fantastic experience - the food was great, and the little tented areas inside the playground are a great place to enjoy your night out, and keep an eye on your kids at the same time.

Fabulous food over two nights, Sunday and Monday nights. 26 & 27 may 2024
The service was good too.
Unfortunately the gaming room let us down on the second night. It stank of smoke, there were ashtrays at every poker machine, and there was no seperate room for people who did not smoke.
We asked if there was a seperate games room for non smokers and was told there was none. I will be reporting this establishment to the health authorities for full disciplinary actions. A lady was next to my wife and proceeded to light up a cigaret. When asked, the staff said the club was special! I think not!

By far the best pub feed we had on our work trip to Dubbo. Big family friendly pub with a modern bistro. T Bone was cooked perfectly and the beer was cold. Pretty standard pub prices for these days although it looked like there were some great weekday specials. 👍👍

Bit torn about this review. The meal we had was what you would expect from a tavern and was a high standard. The bar staff and kitchen staff were really friendly and couldn't do enough for you (even got a doggy bag for left over food from the kids, hard to get that at home). Only let down was 1 employee who had family or friends at that time, and she seemed to feel entitled and continually seemed to get in the way even though she saw us coming. I really felt like giving lower stars, but can't do it because of 1 staff member.

2 for 1 on a Weds night is a pretty good deal. Meals were generous but the wait was about 40 minutes (no one mentioned that when we ordered) and the place was really noisy as it was packed. After a 12 hour drive it was possibly not the best venue choice for us. When I asked about the progress of our meals (having no clue about the timelines) I was told in a pretty unfriendly, stick it kind of tone, "40 minutes, that's how long it takes darl". Lesson learnt!
