You will not get a meal Wednesday to Sunday without a booking.
Don’t just rock up to the club in the evening expecting to be able to order a meal unless you have made a reservation.
Even if you see 20+ tables available.
Instead….
Book for the table and then do a no show.
Seems like what everyone else does!
The club suffers for it.
Solutions:
1) make some tables or areas non-reservable.
2) take payment for reservations at time of booking
3) Allow patrons to use the tables until the reserved time.
I believe this review will fall on deaf ears. Blinded perhaps by the glow and fortune that the pokies bring.
As a board member of the club, I too, would look at the P&L and write this little review off.
But those that have read this far, it’s a 5 star club that just needs some help with operations.
Maybe it grew too fast - maybe everyone just books - who knows.
Til then - Grab yourself some Red Rooster across the road, then head on in for a slap.

Yesterday I went to Sharks Southport for the first time to have work experience in Hospitality and it blew my mind! It doesn't have a glamorous look from the road like usual clubs but what a clean, neat & tidy well maintained club it is from inside!
I thought it was for members only but it is Open to public!

Wonderful vibe at the Sharks, kid and family friendly. Staff are so friendly!! Food is delicious with a wide range to choose from, buffet was very tasty!! Would highly recommend.

Wonderful place to have my birthday 🎂 dinner with the whanau, 3 adults & 3 children. Sunday was the half price buffet special so you have to go with an empty stomach! We had pre booked and were seated within 6 minutes and kids were off to see what was on offer at buffet. There was a really good variety of salads, sauces, mains and desserts. We also opted for the "bottomless soft drinks" for all. Our finished plates were taken away pronto and everything that everyone tried was delicious. Place filled up quickly and dishes on offer were constantly topped up. Great service all round. Highly recommend 👌

Went with five friends for lunch. The lunches were well priced, ready quickly and tasty. The lunch, bar and cafe staff were pleasant and helpful. All in all we spent a very pleasant afternoon at Sharks.

Went to a friend's surprise 70th birthday party for lunch at Sharks on the 16th June which was organised by her wonderful daughter and it went smoothly.
Plenty of outdoor parking. No undercover parking unfortunately. The meals were delicious and the staff were friendly and helpful. There was a child minding room there for toilet trained kiddies and if they are still in nappies an adult would need to be with them, but otherwise there was staff to mind the children and keep them amused. How fabulous is that. Of course there were pokies to play if one felt inclined to once the luncheon was over.I would definitely consider holding a group affair such as that one there myself and will not hesitate to refer to others needing a great venue to celebrate or just to enjoy a good meal. Thank you to Sharks for providing such a great venue.

Went for lunch on Easter Sunday and they chargered 15% surcharge for a “public holiday” in which technically Easter Sunday is not a public holiday. - this is just to gain extra money.
Shredded ham was used on the petite chicken schnitzel (absolutely disgusting) portion size of the salad was disgusting absolutely appalling. Was not worth the $20.90 members or $24.90 for general. I don’t know how they think they can charge this.
Would never go back. So so disgusting.
I wish I could get my money back definitely not worth it.

We have been going to Southport Sharks for many years & have always enjoyed every visit. They have perfected the art of attentive service while providing outstanding, value for money, entertainment experiences. We would highly recommend a visit to have fun.

We always have a great time at the Sharks.
Whether it’s a casual drink with friends or a family get together, we have always had a great experience. We celebrated a 21st recently in the Cabana area. It was well organised with a great selection of food and music which everyone commented on. It was such a relaxed atmosphere, that guests were comfortable enough to let their hair down and truly enjoy themselves.
The gaming area has a great selection of poker machines and an area to sit and relax and just play keno. I would highly recommend the Sharks for any occasion.

Today I went to Sharks with my husband and son as we often do on a Friday. I ordered lunch for the three of us. There was confusion with the order and only my husband received a meal. After waiting a while I inquired at the counter. Mel very professionally and kindly sorted out the problem. We received complimentary meals personally delivered to our table. Delighted with the great service at Sharks!!

Stale Nachos. Ordered nachos and they were stale at the bottom of the bowl. Told the cafe staff and was told that she just opened a new packet of corn chips so it can't be stale. No refund even though there was still half left. We ordered 4 nachos and left half there unedible. Kids were still hungry so we had to go to Hungry Jacks. Won't be back again very disappointing.

Staff were nice & that was about it. There was so many reserved parks for disabled that some could have been reserved for parents but instead had a fair bit to walk with two kids. Ate at Frenzy’s, not much of a choice & whatever the fried rice & Singapore noodle was cooked in was horrible! Traveled from Logan to watch the performance that was meant to start at 7:30pm which didn’t start until 8:30pm for Samoa’s Independence Day. Didn’t get to watch anything because by then the kids had enough. Very pricey on food & drinks. Definitely won’t be on a rush to go back anytime soon. Very disappointing
Edited: the change room were inside the toilets which made it difficult having two children in nappies. Dad had to wait outside while I changed one then had to do a swap. The change table were flimsy, I had to rest the table on my leg because it dipped down with the weight of the child. & where the bag hook was to the table was not ideal

Spent 100 dollars plus on food. Which was very nice. They had a really good live band on. My son whos 7 was told that he had to leave the dance floor because he wasn't allowed to dance along to the live music. Along with a heap of other parents. Very poor in my view after you've spent a significant amount of money on food and drinks for your 7 year old son to be escorted off the dance floor by a bouncer all because he likes to have a dance. Very poor customer service.

Really Good Club.
Great Food & Choice Of Eateries. There is Something to Suit Every One.
Good Drinks Selection With Reasonable Pricing. Especially if You Are a Member.
Have Had ZERO Luck On Their Pokies !!
Probably WHY The Club Looks As Good As It Does !! 😄

On Sunday 16/06/2024, I went to this place for buffet breakfast, it was an awesome experience for me and I love the food there, and the day I went there was also a game going on, would highly recommend coming here and I will also be coming back in the future.

I've been visiting regularly while my husband is at the hospital, Ive been ordering from the Cafe, who have been fantastic in service. Being Gluten Free is not easy to eat out, the meals have been 100% absolutely beautiful, truly outstanding! Affordable too which is awesome. Your bar staff also " know " how to make lemon and lime bitters drink, the BEST I've had ! Such a great club, to come and enjoy in comfort. I enjoy watching the massive fish tanks too...Definitely 100% from me 🙃

I used to eat here as a child and it was always a pretty good feed.
Nothing has changed its even better 😊
Between the fantastic range of food that they have on the bar and the choices of juice,
And the staff members were very friendly I will definitely be returning here again for the buffet breakfast,
as it was a great experience.

I have recently attended the Mad Hatters Celebration for Easter with my entire family. I am a member and my husband and I often come to have a lite dinner and play the pokies. We have always been very pleased with the service and the food.
However at the function that I paid $500. The prawns were not fresh the meat was tough, fruit was not fresh, very dry and tasteless.The soup was lukewarm. The bread rolls stale. I understand it was a long weekend but there are ways to freshen up bread. Maybe teach your cooks. The food overall was disappointing..
There was so many children running around and unsupervised which made it unsafe to walk with food and the smoke that was dispensed was hard to take.
I was very disappointed with the whole experience..
We were really looking forward to it and my grandchildren were overwhelmed with the whole experience. Dangerous and not enjoyable at all.

I have a regular catch-up with friends here, and love it! Easy light lunches, or coffee/tea and a shared pastry - it’s all delicious, fresh and cooked to perfection.
Best part for me, is staff awareness of allergens: no problem to check on ingredients, or to modify/simplify a dish so I can eat it safely. Heartfelt thanks to kitchen staff for my many delicious lunches!! 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
I’ve currently got a broken arm, and everyone is thoughtful and helpful.

I am a member and meet girlfriends regularly for morning tea as we love the reasonably quiet atmosphere A/C, easy parking, and until recently great service and cake selection for the members coffee and cake deal. Last week service was poor, staff mixing up orders, and no friendly greeting of guests . Today another mix up, over charge, wrong order and a long wait for my friend, who had her buzzer and finally after 1/2 hour went back to the counter to be told they didn’t even have her order ! An apology and maybe a small compensation would have been nice.
The new cake selection is all overly sweet, so I opted for a muffin which was dry and stale.
Please go back to your staff and ask them to be polite, train them properly on the till, and if possible add some freshly made cakes or return to the earlier selections which we found delightful .

Great place to eat as a family. I had the buffet and others at the table ordered off the menu. A jug of beer was $21, great value

Great club with a wonderful atmosphere. Very helpful bar and hospitality staff Loads of dining options and great prices as well. Good for families and all age groups. Lots of parking available

Great Club- reasonably priced food and drinks. Staff is friendly and it is well kept and clean. I highly recommend for food and entertainment.

As Victorians, we spend many months in sunny Queensland over winter and found The Sharks last year, so was happy to come back this year. We decided to become members as we love the club and its facilities. The buffet dinner is amazing with a huge choice of yummy food that should suit most people. The drinks are reasonably priced and the atmosphere is very pleasant, and the staff have been very welcoming. Highly recommend especially to all the Grey Nomads.

Altho the staff are all amazing when you are physically there. I have just called to make a booking and some lady named Donna on the phone was HORRIBLE. Never have I experienced this level of rudeness and aggression from the moment she answered the phone. A simple question of me asking "hi just want to make sure I have got through to the restaurant and not the hotel" and OhMyLord she was ANGRY and RUDE. Had the call on loud speaker beforehand and my whole family were shocked and appaulled by the rudeness and anger.
I have relatives from the area that go there three times a week and are on a name to name basis with some of the staff, which is why I wanted to book there. And it's not the staffs fault.at all. The majority are all lovely, but this particular staff member may be a few degrees removed from something. I actually hope she is ok. Customer service is not for everyone. Not Donna anyway

A great place to stay or enjoying your time at, they have a phenomenal buffet. They have a nice restaurant. The rooms are comfortable.
But they haven’t returned the $100 deposit I paid yet, and they haven’t told me that I should pay a deposit when I booked, so that took a star out of the rating.
