Went to the mind, body and soul expo. Would give 5 stars just on that, but, the food at the restaurant isn't much to rave about, so 4 stars it is

Went for a meal and was sadly disappointed.......quality of food not good at the main restaurant, Chinese.
We ordered 2 sizzle platters looking forward to them, we were expecting what they served kotara, not the same
But salt and pepper squid not bad, quantity not the same. Oh well 🙃

Tidy club, great service & greeted by the lovely lady Supervisor and staff at the door. Good seating options and an excellent tasty chinese meal, huge portions. Refreshing to get personalised service in a larger club.

Terrible .. steak was wafer thin.. enough chips to have a half a chip per bite of steak..salad was more a fruit salad than a proper salad..customer service was sour .. back chat abt the customer within ear distance..wrong orders taken .. could at least smile to customers let alone listen to them.. can not recommend!

Only a basic RSL style menu, mostly serves Chinese meals with some Thai dishes thrown in. The whole fish I had was decent but would've been nice to have some more typical RSL options.

Just over 10 years ago, a friend of mine who was a member here (now an ex member) was so pissed off one Thursday night members Draw which was $8k @ the time, That Thursday night, the club had the hide to call a member number which was 1 off my friend number (my friend was in need of that money) instead the club offered my friend some lousy club cash which my friend DECLINED) then 5 days later, My Friend (Got Evicted from the place he was staying at) Left the area & only been back to this club once, (My friend is still living on the streets)

It's a lovely place as far as looks go, but don't eat there. I ordered a simple chicken shnitzel with pepper sauce, vegies and chips. The shnitzel was covered with some weird batter which fell away from the chicken. The pepper sauce was Diane sauce with a dozen whole black peppercorns on it and the vegies were cold. The only redeeming thing on the plate were the chips, which were very nice.

I recently had my engagement party at Souths, and I couldn't be happier with how smoothly everything went. Grace was so helpful with filling us in on the details we needed prior to the day, and the booking process was simple. On the day, Simon helped me with several things - getting the fans turned on, turning off the outdoor music so we could have our own playlist going - I was just over the moon with how accommodating he was. We used the Alfresco space, including the downstairs grassy area, and we were able to customise the space as we needed it. We barely decorated because of how nice the space looks on its own. We also needed to order extra catering during the party (nothing to do with the venue, we underestimated how much our guests would want to eat 😂), which Simon was happy to assist with. We used our laptop connected to the TV to play games and run a door prize for our guests, and sometimes that can be a nightmare to set up, but it was a simple plug and go. We were allowed to arrive three hours before our event started so we could set up, and I was even given a trolley to help me carry things to and from the car! I'm so thankful to the team at Souths for helping make our party a success ❤️

I haven't been to South Newcastle Leagues for a while although on this occasion we were extremely surprised with the service provided by the staff from reception to the Kitchen, there was one exception with what I believe to be above quakity service as my wife and I were sitting in the dinning room having a meal when one of the male staff was walking by and noticed we were low on drinks and asked if we would like another drink at which we at first were shocked as I've not been to a club where this kind of servoce has been offered, we said that would be great, I gave him my members card and payment and within minutes was back with our drinks, cards and receipt.
Exemplary service, not something that was expected
5 star service and the meals were amazing

I got the schnitzel for food which was great the staff was very polite and the clubs atmosphere was overall great.

Grew up in the same block as the club in Morgan Street. Got kicked out the club a few times for being under age. Worked there as a barman during my university years. Always a good place to enjoy a beer, convivial company and the food was always good. Lots of good memories!

Fantastic spot to socialise with friends & family. Great staff who are always so friendly & courteous to all. It has a terrific family atmosphere here & with tremendous food available from the Restaurant which caters for both Asian & Western Meal selections. South now has an improved playground area for the kids, as well as a choice of an alfresco dining experience. # Give South a try when your next after a great meal, a quiet drink or catch up with family, friends or colleagues in enjoyable relaxing & friendly surroundings.

Beer was good,service was ok,meals huge but not hot.
Dont know why the big screen was on free to air tv with the volume loud when you are suppose to have the racing on,this was annoying,dont go out to watch free to air tv we wanted to bet & listen to the racing.
Nothing special about this club.

A great place for a quiet one or two or ..... Anyways, food is always good here. They catered well for our function upstairs. Staff are always friendly.

A fantastic club with a great community spirit. The food is incredible and occasionally they have some very good live music upstairs. The INXS Tribute show, ABBA tribute, and lots of local shows including Ty Penshorn & his DIAMOND tribute show! .
