We recently held the wake for my mother at South’s Bowls Club. The staff were excellent to deal with. They provided us with a seperate area for the function. The supplied hot food, sandwiches and cakes were all tasty and good quality. The price also was very reasonable. Definitely a really good choice for your next family or group function.

The waiting and atmosphere was good except the food was a huge let down I ordered the Bolognese and it was watery and had little to no cheese or flavour.

Relaxing atmosphere. Good service. Busy, efficient staff. Reasonable prices, better if you are a club member. Food came out in good time. Big meal. Fresh salad and very nice fish and chips. Singer in the bar area was fairly good. Worth a quiet night out.

Recommended this club for a lovely meal..an thats exactly what we got. Beautiful juicy steak exactly cooked to my liking. The mash potato was perfect,salad crisp and fresh. Lovely club. Easy access and friendly staff. Clean and well set out.

Loved going to South’s Suburban. Used to come up to visit family and always chose this bowlo for drinks and meals when we were here. Now we are here living I still enjoyed coming to south’s to enjoy a good tooheys old which is one of only 2 places in Mackay I know it was on tap. But unfortunately you are taking it off which is a disappointment.

Kids eat free Wednesday absolutely love a bargain… also love the kids room. Edna is wonderful with the kids!

I love this little bowls club the live entertainment is always great the food is scrumptious, there is a good range of poker machines if you are into that. Kids club and the staff are amazing 🥰

I have never had a decent meal here. Fritters both times were black & burnt. Fish tastes muddy & now BBQ ribs are from frozen bags.
Even the chips are not consistent.

I cant comment on the food etc. but I can say the actual lawn bowls club and it's members and committee are fantastic.
We stayed in Mackay for 5 weeks. I played social bowls 1 - 2 times a week and loved the whole overall feel of the club.
If you,re a bowler travelling through I can highly recommend the club for a friendly no pressure roll up.

Great place, great deals, love the meals, good staff, cosy gaming area, nice places to sit outside can get a bit warm in the warmer months, got a colossal crumbed steak meal (pic below).... 1 kg steak later ... wow. Totally recommend here if your hungry.

Great little bowls club. Have only lived in Mackay for 6 months. Lovely atmosphere. Great food each time we’ve come for dinner. Lovely staff also. 😊

Good atmosphere. Was fun to have a bowl on the green with the family before grabbing dinner. The kids enjoyed the kids room. While the meals may ocassionally be a little slow to come but tonight was worth the extra bit of time plus just gave us more time to catch up with the family. The rib eye steak was cooked perfect medium rare. The special of the day the Macadamia Nut and Coconut Battered fish was beautiful! Crunchy on the outside and soft in the centre. 🤗👍😊

Fantastic night for our Uke club.
Service was the best and 54 meals
all top quality and very quick. Great kitchen.

Easy Access, not too busy, quality of food was okay for pub food although it was a little underwhelming and not up to the same level as some other clubs.

Birthday lunch for an 84 year old, only 4 people.
All choose the roast of the day, which was beef. The meat was inedible!! Very tough, hard to chew!! All of it went into a bowl to go back to the kitchen.
My complaint fell on deaf ears!!
With the only comment, " oh, I will tell the chef".
Small consolation, the vegies were OK, which was all we ate.
Gave the deserts a miss!!

A lovely club for a meal 🥘 & drink🍷🍸🍫. I went to Souths Suburban Bowls Club for an outing with 1 of my disable customers. We both enjoyed our meals and drinks. She's had a Bundy rum & coke, I had a lime bitter (a non alcoholic drink😁😉) After finishing we went into bar area to listen to the band performance.🎷🎸🎶 We both had a lovely night out, met a few friends. I recommend this place to everyone. Quite, friendly & fast service, a big choices of nice meals. Thumbs up!👍👏👌😉🥰
