You'd think as a person in a wheelchair you'd have the bare minimum privilege of being able to piss in a restaurant but evidently not. Toilet was completely inaccessible and has clearly been used as a storage room for quite some time, despite the manager saying it was "broken." Really disappointing as food is good.

We had the spit shack cater for our Christmas party lunch, the lamb, coleslaw, gravy and bread rolls were all exceptional. Everyone loved it and I couldn’t recommend them more, very helpful and friendly staff.

We discover this place today and it is an authentic gem hiding in canberra, we love it genuine concept and food was amazing.
Surely I will be back with my friends!

waste of money. literally, I waited for half an hour..... after waiting such long I received very low quality of food....Please don't waste your money here...

Tried Spit Shack for the second time in a few weeks, we ordered the Adriatic lamb roll, chorizo and a few beers which was $60+ plus. The beers were great, the lamb roll had a strange fishy smell and flavor to it and the chorizo wasn’t house made and reflective of the same you buy at woolies. The fit out is amazing but unfortunately the food is average. I’m at 3 starts primarily for the fit out. Won’t be a return customer.

Totally disgusted! I ordered a chips and meat from you guys and when I open to started eating I saw maggots all around the food. Looks that the food is not fresh at all. I wouldn't never buy food from this restaurant

The Good: friendly lady, delicious chips.
The bad:
Overpriced food. Smelly patty in burger.
Thu ugly:
The entire inside of the restaurant has been turned into storage garage. We are not allowed to sit inside or use the toilet. My girlfriend had to go to servo across the road to use toilet.
How can you treat customers like this for the ridiculous price you're charging. If you want to do take away only. Then change take away price. Not $17 for a tiny 4 inch burger. Maccas is way better for comparison.

The 12' express pork classic roll and express shack stack are quite good here. A good alternative to Subway and kebabs. Their pulled pork is particular good and toddler friendly. I've had better bread though and I think this is an area they can improve on. Yours truly @fooderarri

Slow-cooked meat, amazing coleslaw, stunning decor, fascinating liqueurs, friendly service. One of several oases of genuine culture which bloom in the seeming badlands which is Mitchell. Popular with both the high-viz and the white-collar sets.

Ordered some catering for an event. Was quoted $40 for pork and $45 for lamb per kilo. Got sent the brochure in an email with the prices and went ahead and ordered 12kgs of shredded meat and gravy. On the night of pick up, my mother picked it all up and it was $200 more than what we expected. She didn't want us to be out of food so just paid for it. When we asked them about it, they said there was a price increase and we were charged the new prices. We showed them what we were quoted and they have just ignored us. We aren't asking for a full refund but just the difference in what we were quoted and the new prices. Really not that much to ask especially when we have proof that we were quoted the 'old prices' only 3 weeks prior. Instead they've received their pay so don't feel a need to get back to us.

My girlfriend and I visited for an early lunch. I was pleasantly surprised with the beautiful atmosphere, friendly staff but most of all the delicious food. I ordered the steak sandwich, and I gotta say, it was the best steak sandwich I have ever eaten, fresh, full of flavour and just the right amount of a hint of chilli! 10/10 would recommend

Lamb pie was delicious but only half of the pastry was actually filled...
Loaded chips were exceedingly average.
The pork sandwich was alarmingly dry, but this may be due to it being delivered, rather than eaten in-person.
6/10 Nice, but wouldn't order again

Incredibly delicious food. They also now serve burek of various flavours, so the cultural food there is next level excellent. The best I’ve had in Australia for Balkan food. They also have cultural wines and they host community events. The staff are the kindest and warmest you’ll ever meet at a restaurant.

I came here during Fešta with my Russo-australian friend and his Croatian-Austrian mates. As a Korean, I felt very welcome and entertained despite not having any overlap of culture. Friendly people and staffs, good food, and great scene. Slava Hrvatska.

I absolutely love the service, environment, and of course the food here.
You are warmly welcomed by staff and served very promptly, endeavouring to do so even when it is busy. Plenty of seating indoors and outdoors in a very fitting Croatian-themed setting.
Big shoutout to Chef Tomislav and the crew for cooking some of the best food I've had in Mitchell. Love being a frequent customer.

From Sydney here! Considering the variety of food we have, this is probably the first time I eat something and the first thing that comes to my head is “i need to leave a review” WOW WOW WOW. The lamb is on point. Great food, cozy place will be back very soon!

Food was nice although very salty. Really dissatisfied with the lack of tap water and they did not provide this for patrons. This is not acceptable at a licenced venue.

Came for a late lunch. Got two large pork rolls with apple sauce gravy and cheese. One was as a combo with can of coke and chips.
It’s was a lot of meat which I appreciate. But it was with too much gravy and was a bit soggy. The taste of the pork it self was delicious and tender. I really liked it but didn’t finish it all and ate it later on.

Been eating Spit Shack since it was in the van. Can't go wrong with the roast rolls, my favourite is the lamb. Juicy meats and friendly staff. Love the Mitchell shop fit out. Canberra OG love to see it.

Vegetarians might not enjoy jt the way I did.
