St. George Hotel

worst experience I have had in a gaming hotel. I have possibly spent thousands through this place and never had a problem (though never won much). Then they changed hands recently. Hardly ever win and today pulled my card out of one of the machine with $25 credit the credit didn't transfer on to card. Told the floor assistant and she tried to help and rang the gaming people. This went back and forth for a good 40 min while I played another machine and lost another $50. After that I went up to the manager and said I was waiting for my $25 he said he couldn't give it to me because it needs to be investigated and when the gaming company give the all clear they can give me back my money. I told him that that wasn't my problem and if he thought I was trying to rip him off it would be for more than $25 dollars (also i had $27 worth of bonus points on my card). He said he would lose his job if he gave me the $25. Wow, people spend so much money in this place for no service and the occasional drink. They knew I had just spent over $100 there just then and obviously from the amount of bonus credits had spent a hell of a lot more. This guy really couldn't care less because they're not worried about retaining customers they know that some idiot will come and spend all their paycheque at this place and that is all they care about. Getting the next idiot through the door. Shame because this was my local for the past 10 years. The Manager on duty basically called me a liar and a theif over this $25 so i won't be going back I guess I'll just have to walk that extra 5 minutes down to Belmore Hotel, and the manager of St George can go have a free lunch on me once the investigation finds that I was ripped off the $25 (& they can stick their bonus points back into their greedy profits!!).

Win or lose its not a bad place too visit.

The service in the bar is very deficient, bad attitude, good service in the entrance but the girls in the bar are very rude

Small sports bar, and the staff are wonderful. Excellent service and work from one of their managers - black hair, smaller, kind woman.

Not much there receipt pokies, no restaurant nothing. Shame. Bar staff are friendly but lots of occasions bar is unattended, looks like the barman is servicing the pokies bar and main bar alone.

nothing gets fixed seats in the tab that hard you sit on them for 2min only two sides pokies and the poor section tab take care of all customers air con out tonight may be back 2mths note staff great mangerment on the nose fix the problems

Nice new area but not the best parking available and no food options. They are more focused on getting people on the machines

Lovely staff More on gaming venue but the bar area is not bad.

Lived two blocks from this pub ,only been there once ,no food , no proper takeaways , no entertainment other than pokies .

Just realised my wallet was missing, I'd dropped it on the floor at the St George yesterday, Rang them up on the off chance they had it, and they did. Young Nepalese guy behind the bar (sorry, don''t know his name), has always been helpful and friendly. Can now add honesty to this list. He's a champ, and has my enduring thanks, Mr publican, this young bloke deserves a pay rise! :)

I would like to give zero star if there have. Rude staff and poor customer service. I and my friend just went to the VIP lounge for bathroom and also wanna play the machines, the lady who wears glasses let me show the ID, I just presented student card for her which has photo and date of birth on it (Over 18). She impatiently said it is not valid and stared to forced me go outside there. How rude she was, will never go there again.

I was there late at night playing the pokies, went to the bar and asked how much for a large coke and the friendly barman said it's all good I'll sort that out and poured me a glass of coke. I know that you get a free coke while playing the pokies but it was really nice to get one for free when I wasn't really playing them. Last thought nice friendly place.

It's a good bar, very nice and friendly staff but no food. Couldn't even get chips. There was pie in a warmer and crisps out if the vending machine.

I have lost tens of thousands on this pub. I played pokies the other night wanting to order a drink the staff came to me and just says hi without asking what i want and when i was about to asked her she just walked out. I did the same on two other machines requesting for a drink satff just walking fast i dont know if they noticed me or not. For 3 hours i was there not even one glass of water i got offered. I will never come again.

If you are looking for a "pub" then forget this place. Rude service (if you can get served), no fox channels, management especially evening/night time doesnt care at all about the bar, only focus is making people spend their wages on the pokies. Night manager told me "thats where the money is" refuring to pokie area when complained to about poor service from his staff. Pokie area all smoking, tip seeking asian girls "staff", too busy flirting for tips or on their phone, get very angry when they have serve a regular bar patron. All good if you want to punch your weeks earnings through pokies, while breathing in other peoples exhaled smoke. Not good if you just want a beer in the bar. Go to Belmore Hotel near train station instead.. only 10 mins walk away..

If I needed to ask security to find someone that works behind the bar in the games area, I have to say there Customer service could of been better, thank you to there security 👍

Great pub on the corner of the main road, awesome service from staff post lockdown.

Great pub in an old school area. Haven't been their for years but it has that same feel. Renovated now and new management. The liscensee was very inviting as we're the bar staff. Cosy pub near Canterbury hospital. Great tap beer. Carlton dark ale was nicely poured through clean hoses as it was crisp. Didn't have the chance to eat , but in sure it would be great. Will drop in again on Friday when im back in the neighborhood.

3pm on a Thursday and can't get any staff attention to pour me a drink. Is anyone working here?. Nobody in the place. Looks closed. Stood around for 5 mins and walked out. Not going back that's for sure
