We had booked for 8 people and a high chair at a nearby restaurant a week earlier only to turn up for our booking to be told they had ran out of high chairs. We then approached the St George workers club asking if they could accommodate 8 people and a high chair - which was early on a Saturday night so their bistro was quite busy. The staff were amazing. They pushed several tables together and made us feel welcome from the minute we got there to the moment we left. They provided colouring bags with stickers for the children, and our waitress interacted with our youngest in the high chair whenever she passed our table. The food was great, but the staff deserve a 5 star rating for their service alone. Thank you for making us feel welcome - would certainly recommend to anyone who is dining out in Pakington St.

we had a great night out! food was great, cutlets and steak, cooked to perfection! veggies and salad to our liking. we joined in the raffle, played the pokies, no big wins, but had fun with many others and the friendly staff did a great job in seeing to everyone's needs. as the club was packed, we walked in and got the last bistro table, 35 mins for meal to arrive, not bad timing with the amount of people, and staff asked if we needed anything as they passed back & forth. we'll be back!

We enjoyed another great meal at this Hotel/Club. The lamb shanks and crumbed lamb cutlets were both cooked to perfection (10/10) as were the roast vegetables. We followed up with desert being the pavlova and a pear crumble which were both scrumptious. Staff polite & helpful. Definitely recommend and will return again.

Very dissapointing.
Granted, we were there on Melbourne Cup Day which is a very busy day for the venue, but it's one that they promote heavily so they really should be able to step up their level of quality.
Ordering at 1.45pm, after the lunch rush, our food arrived with all the urgency of the type of fare that could only have come pre-cooked and sitting in the kitchen being mildly warmed.
The parmigiana and the vegetable quiche were both burnt through, the side of chips were black and the vegetables and wrongly supplied salad were depressing.
Some hour later, our entree arrived after much pleading.
Worse than this, our huffy waitress who had apparently returned to work after many, many years of retirement kept hitting us in the back of the head with dirty dishes as she squeezed through tightly packed tables.
No value, no service and appalling food.

Terrific food great service relaxed atmosphere,you can have a bet and has the pokies if your that way inclined in a separate area so if you just want to wait for a friend you can have a drink at the bar,👍

Paid $50 for 2 parmies but they advertise $16 each Lunch special ... I ask the cashier why they advertise $16 but charged me $25 . Her response of the $16 is the half serve I probably should of told you that . The parmies were soggy on the bottom and burnt around the edges . Besides waiting 35 minutes for the meals and it wasn’t busy . I also observed the chef use the same tongs serving chips, salad, meat and chicken ! At one stage I watched him use his hands to put salad on a plate after he had handled a bowl with chips in it . Not a good experience at all .

Online menu and in store menu are completely different, staff are unhelpful and have completely no idea what they are doing
And I was told I couldn't pay for my drink by card without PayPass, desipite being able to pay with a swipe card
Avoid the workers club, plenty of better pubs around geelong to get.a meal at

My husband and I go for lunch just about every Saturday. The chef, Jamie never lets us down delivering yummy meals at all times. Recently we have had the pleasure to be served by Juliette. She is very friendly and always has a welcoming smile on her face. I wholeheartedly recommend this place. You won't regret it.

My boss took me here a long time ago for one of those "we need a chat" talks. Turned out to be a good chat as his plan to test me backfired and I got an apology PLUS a free meal.
Veggies were a bit bland..... Like when you steam them at home, but the staff were lovely.

Great atmosphere for one or a group! Friendly & accommodating service. Delicious food form a light to full meal. Great spot for Punters or a relaxing catch up. Cosy outdoor smoking & punting area. Close to public transportation & shopping strip & city.😀

As well as being in a great location for lunch, the food is fantastic and the prices are reasonable. As a member...well ex member now, the inconsistency of the staff really irritates me 75% of the time the staff are fantastic and if you happen to forget your membership card you can prove it by showing the correspondence relating to your membership, the reasonable and logical staff understand that we are living In an electronic era...however there is one staff member who obviously has no control within her personal life and finds it of the utmost importance to provide identification to the enth degree as if we are boarding a plane. But hey just bring your I'd along even if you are a 99 year old about to celebrate your 100th birthday as the stickler will likely turn you down if you don't.

A group of friends from our Lions club met for a social evening and dinner recently

A great place to relax and take in the sport on the various screens or have a responsible bet in the TAB. The service by the staff was so friendly and obliging. Well worth a visit.
