We ordered two small plates for lunch, the pate and sardines with a side of fries. We ate outside under the grape vine which was pleasant and food was good at the higher price point for lunch. Unfortunately the service let the venue down. The first waiter did not know the specials or how they were cooked, the terrine was unavailable. After some he time came back and took our food order, to return to take drinks but did not return. We called another waiter, unfortunately the wine we ordered was not in stock. We ordered the chips with aioli, but were delivered with tomato sauce, followed up two times and eventually went inside to get the aioli ourself. Service is the responsibility of management, we find this unacceptable for where the venue positions itself.

We had to try Stefano’s Cafe as we heard so much about it when it was reviewed in the The Good Food Guide Mildura. Amazing coffee and we could have had another- yum!!
Not bad presentation of the pancakes with delicious lemon curd by Mildura standards. Nothing could fault the pancakes but what a miserable plate of fruit with a few grapes and melon pieces for a hot price of $18!!
Sadly, can’t say much the rude customer service and mistakes made on the orders, especially on a quiet morning. I’d give the service a straight out 0.
After thought: Was surprised to find out that Stefano sold the cafe and it’s under a different management using his brand name. Pity!

The best egg and bacon roll anywhere, for breakfast and only place for coffee (doesn't fail each and every time). Even sighted the man himself, checking in on the business!

Quick service but coffee was bad, we were travelling with cats in carriers, but they wouldn't let us bring them in and we had to sit outside in the 6 degree cold. Every other cafe we went to was fine with cats so long as they stayed in their cat carriers.
It's a shame because in years past this cafe used to be much more welcoming, have much better customer service, and much better coffee.
It got ruined post covid. Don't recommend anymore.

Poor service. Simply ignored. Walked out after 10min waiting. Not particularly busy. They are coasting on a reputation no longer deserved.
Poor lunch experience in December also.,so not a one-off.

Lunch at Stefanos.
The ambiente imitates an Italian eatery as perceived as such in Australia. A good standard.
We ordered 4 dishes. Mushroom burger is ok, but not exciting good. I would notice that a sharper knife for the burger should be offered. It is common, though, to get a standard cutting knife everywhere. Chips, together with the burger, resemble a classic Burger Chips dish. There's nothing wrong with that. And the chips were well fried, thick and maybe not from the bag?
Suacage pasta was tasty, missing maybe some pepper, spicyness.
Gnocchi with Stefanos sauce was ok. The Gnocchi were massive. I would prefer them a bit lighter in texture and fresher in the arrangement. Red sauce with parsley topped with a bit of cheese, it is ok, but heavier as wished for a lunch dish.
I cried when there was no Osso Bucco available!
The steamed vege was nicely glazed,green zucchini, Brussel sprouts, and broccolinis. Ok, good! A good choice for a side dish.
The service was a bit strange. We have been asked to sit on a table for six. Then suddenly the manager? Asked if we were waiting for anyone else. On our answer, she did not even reply. She just turned away and continued her work. We have noticed her being rude to other staff. Not rude but abrupt. Do not do that in front of your customers! A manager must be the friendliness personified.
Not offered the wine list, even after I started looking on the displayed wines. Why?
Overall, I had higher expectations. It's a good restaurant, but it can do it much better. Improve the organisation, train your staff to be polite besides being "stylish" and with "attitude". And play a bit more with the dishes. Do not forget your wine list!
Last moment addition... desert practically not existing. The pantry displayed mass-produced flourless "persian" tart, lemon curd, and a few almond croissants. These are not deserts!

Lovely place for breakfast and a get together with travelling family. The meals were well presented and tasty without being memorable. One dilemma was the sour dough was thick, which meant it was rather difficult to cut with the cutlery provided. Perhaps a re think on the bread or the cutlery might be needed. My relatives left most of their bread whereas I gave up on any attempt to eat with any poise. 🙃

Just went for a coffee. Stayed for 2 and had breakfast as well. Best coffee i have had in a while. Excellent service. The only problem is i live 5 hours away, otherwise it would be my local for coffee.

Just had a great lunch here on a local's recommendation. Steak was cooked to perfection but more importantly had a lovely interaction with the staff and a local customer. Looking forward to visiting again. Thank you for great service.

I enjoyed a good breakfast and a delightful coffee at this cafe. While the menu options were a bit limited, the staff's friendliness and helpfulness added to the overall positive experience. A solid 4-star rating for a cozy spot with room for a bit more variety on the menu.

How can you rate a place where you sit for 15 minutes, no menu, no water, no coffee order. It was loud, poorly serviced, so we walked out. For someone who had waited 15 years to come here, to say I was disappointed is an understatement!

Had a beautiful breakfast of fluffy pancakes with a coffee to die for!
The cafe was bustling which is alway a good sign and the service was quick which made a morning out with the kids, a much nicer experience even when ordering a second coffee!
A really lovely start to our weekend and an affordable breakfast with the family

Great food, great service. The cafe has by far the best coffee in Mildura and great food too so it was incredibly busy over the Easter period when we went several times. The staff were quite obviously doing their best to make everyone happy during what is the busiest time of year, and did a great job keeping up with the demands of customers. Looking forward to going back again this week when its a little quieter to enjoy some more of their great food and something from the awesome wine list!

Excellent toasted ham, cheese and tomato sandwich. Think and fresh bread. Not your supermarket rubbish here.
Beautiful interior with soft background music playing.
The large flat white was good. Not great but at least 8/10. Temperature was perfect.
Service was reserved.

Excellent food, open early from 7am for travelers with in-built providore shop.
Great array of breakfast choices. Lunch options (to 3pm) look world class. Even so, they made up scrambled eggs to diner’s specification.
Excellent sourdough with Pepe Saya butter. But raisin toast is made fresh and frozen in hen toasted on demand; which is a recipe for stale toast for everyone. The freezing process dehydrates the bread and you lose that baked daily freshness. Offered sourdough as replacement.
Coffee was brilliant - never had a better cappuccino. The crema, the milk, all perfect.
Service was top notch - super prompt, gently friendly, knowledgeable. Eager to accommodate our requests.

Excellent experience. Open early for pleasure (great menu) and business meetings (quiet and can hear the conversation). Couldn't find a better place this early. Open till 3pm and has Take-away section that you can grab coffee etc on the run.... but better to enjoy the venue. On a warmish morning you can sit outside under the vines for extra atmosphere.

Excellent enviroment. Lovely staff and amazing food. Kyle, the waiter that looked after me had great customer service and made me feel welcomed and wanting to come back again. Should definitely give him a raise

Beautiful eggs and bacon with fresh spinach on sourdough.
We loved breakfast so much we went back again the next morning whilst visiting Mildura
We also had lunch there. My steak sandwich was the best I’ve had in years.
The produce section was also a delight, filled with lots of goodies to purchase.
Will definitely visit again next time we come back to Mildura

Amazing breakfast, delicious coffee and a versatile menu to look forward to each and every time. Poached eggs need to be perfected if it is on the menu however accompanying food steered me away from any form of complaint.

A cheese platter is always a good option during a break when there are fewer selections for your lunch meals.
Fusion courses on the menu are unique to serve customers in Mildura. Have a try when dining in at this cafe. Never disappointing during meals time. Excellent customer service. You can also buy some products from here: wines, cheese, homemade sauces, or dipping sauces.

A breath of fresh air to a somewhat negative business attitude in Mildura.
The staff at Stefano's Cafe went out of their way to get us seated and were an absolute pleasure. The food and atmosphere was absolutely amazing and we will most definitely be back as regulars.
