We went to the restaurant bar for lunch. Excellent meals. Quite reasonably priced too. Drinks remarkably inexpensive. Occasionally noise from the ongoing renovations could be heard, noticeable, but not disturbing at all. The place looks good now... it will be great when completed.

Was very busy for a Tuesday night. Service was great, meals
didn't take long, big portions, my
eye fillet was on the rare side, melted in my mouth 😋😋, jalapeno poppers were delish!!!
Everyone at our table (11) enjoyed their meals. A great night 👌👍👍

Visiting Townsville for a few days . Arranged to meet at Stuart Hotel for a long luncheon to catchup with good friends .
Our friends and relatives all suggested Stuart , so pleased they did.
Friendly service , delicious meal, clean and modern atmosphere.
Definately would recommend and we will call again next visit.

The food was excellent but they only had prosseco or moscato fir bubbly!

the food and service was reasonable, however in regards to the bar staff I think a particular barmaid deliberately ripped me off - Charging me $14.00 for a single lemon/lime/&bitters. When I responded by saying 'How much?" She repeated the price of $14.00. Something dodgy going on with that staff member.

The accommodation was below standard for the price we paid,the TV is quite small and has only free to air channels. The air-conditioning is not very good,the bed was terrible to sleep on and we woke up with very sore backs,no bed side tables and the fridge is only a mini bar fridge. The shower curtain is too short and water splashed out onto the floor making it a slip hazard. We won't be staying there again,the food in the restaurant is great and the staff were friendly we would eat there again but never stay in the motel.

Rooms are clean and very affordable. Service as always is impeccable. We l9ve coming here for a Pub Lunch

Plenty of parking spaces, food was decent. There is a kids room available, a lot of seating, gaming room, public bar and drive thru bottle o. They also provide rooms for accommodation. Uncertain what the rooms are like so can’t give details. Meals were quite quick to come out, lunch time seems popular. Staff could maybe smile a bit and be more friendly.

Ordered meals waited well into an hour ....saw very busy..then thought come on...lunch please....checked with staff oh sorry we left your order on the till... thanks for nothing...left and had a nice lunch at the long board in town...much better service and much better staff.

My family of 8 called up to make a booking and spoke to Wendy at 2pm and this was confirmed. We live out of town so the drive is 30 minutes. When we arrived the ‘manager’ older lady with the booking list asked for our booking name. We seem to not exist on the list. She than goes and checks with Wendy about the booking. This lady comes back and tells us we are welcome to sit on high chairs until a table is available. When looking at the tables there were 7 tables available with reserve signs on them. What we don’t understand is why we weren’t catered to one of these tables as this was not our fault that Wendy can’t do her job. The manager was not helpful and as this is the closest pub for us we use to enjoy coming. However you will not be seeing my family there again. We ended up calling the sun hotel and they could fit us in right away and the meals were fantastic. Thanks Sun hotel. It’s a shame the Stuart hotel can’t cater for their mistakes.

Meals are well priced and come out quickly but very average (chicken was edible but dry, Ingredients clumped together- I assume just made in advance and microwaved). The service is self service to get your food from the counter.
The beef stir fry was actually decent though, interesting for a pub. Lots of space and a place to watch the sports

Meal's are good value. I waited about 20 minutes. Customer count was approximately 50. I had a pint (~450) of ale for $11. Thursday $19 schnitzel night is good value also.

Maybe if it's your local you'd have more good experiences than bad, but as one visiting this pub for the first time I won't be back unless there is an unmissable event.
Came for some food and watch the Karaoke and have a beer.
Found a poor bar setup and staff policy, you can not order food from the bar staff, the dining room ordering area is a fair walk passed toilet and all the way around the other bar sides from the main bar area since you can't walk both ways round the middle bar. It's a hassle when you have to do three trips to bring the plates around and the staff won't or are not permitted to pass food order over to the main bar side. (There were others whom are regulars that said this is a new policy, but eating at the bar on this side wasn't me doing something unusual for the place)
Tried to order loaded wedges from the menu but that was an old menu, ordered loaded fries and cheesy bacon garlic bread. chips were undercooked and it was not real cheese. The highlight was the garlic bread it was actually quite good. And as you'd hope the beer was cold.

Look I just want to be really really honest I like the Stuart pub I like the venue and I like the staff. The only place the Stuart pub really falls down is the food.
Don't get me wrong it's decent food and halfway decently priced.
But it doesn't really have a lot of flavour..
I have ordered the south-west chicken tenders.
The carbonara.
The chicken parmigiana.
The steak and prawn parmigiana.
And the chicken wings.
And in all cases I found the food to be somewhat bland reasonably cooked but bland needs more salt and more seasoning.
3 stars out of 5 for presentation.
The Stuart pub has a lot of potential but needs to do more with its food for the price...

I went for dinner and we waited for over an hour for our food and this has happen more than once. We are not happy with this service..

I really enjoyed the meals that were 💯 present and the staff are 💯 percent friendly I would highly recommend them 💯 percent.

Have never stayed at the stuart hotel , but the steak is one of the best I have tried in townsville .
Very good kids play room and can sit next to on large tables .
Would recommend to any family who wants to relax have good food and let the kids play.

Great place overall. Great meals and the drinks are nice and cold. There is a children's play room. The meat trays on Saturdays are enormous. The manager and staff are very friendly and make you feel welcome.

Great food, drinks and service. Karaoke on a Saturday night is also a great laugh. If they don't have Karaoke it's usually live music. Good local spot.

Dear Wendy,
I need to know where you wrote my name and phone number because I booked at table tonight for 7 people and when we arrived we where declined our booking. No other arrangements where provided us (other then a seat at the bar) BTW WE HAVE a disabled family member who can’t sit on high seats and a 12 year old with us.
I am absolutely disgusted as this was a celebration dinner and we have always enjoyed your food and service. Please discuss with Wendy on her role as a “booking manager” because you have failed a loyal customer.

Big dining area (no ambiance, just a big room), the home cooking style meals are big servings with a choice of veg or salad. There is a nightly special board and loads of menu choices. You won't go hungry at the Stuart.

Attn Front counter, after witnessing the total rudness and disrespectful manner this man gave to my close friend who was just picking up a room key today...
This employee needs to learn Customer Service. Brett i know everyone has a bad day ...but you really took it out on the wrong person today...!!!!!!

Always exceptional service, short wait for meals, no matter what time of the day, competitive prices and complements to the Chef! My fiance and I will continue to dine there most certainly! Bring your family or yourself or even your four legged friend for a quality meal at a quality price!

After my grandparents had flown in from over seas I decided to treat them to what I thought would be a nice dinner out at the pub. From the moment we got there we weren’t made to feel welcome. The bar staff didn’t want to be there, they looked miserable. When ordering the meals, the kitchen staff were shouting at the order taker that they had “none of that left” rather than coming and telling us, or the staff member at the counter. Finally we sat back down and the girl came to our table stating they had no rump left at all and would we like something else? We settled for an eye fillet. Whilst watching the meals be prepared I seen them put the eye fillet under the light which sat there for well over 15 mins and was never brought to us. We got our meals and suddenly we were asked if we got the eye fillet.. which was right infront of my dad and he was eating it. They then tried to take the meal away from him while he was eating it to replace it with the one that by this point had been under the light for over 20 mins. We told them no, he’s already eating his meal. Then AGAIN the staff have come over asking what the go was with the eye fillet which we said he’s now eaten it, we don’t understand. And AGAIN they come over asking what meals were missing and there were none.
After all of that kerfuffle, we then watched the same girl that served us, video another patron (which is highly illegal) through the dessert cabinet for her own entertainment.
Not good enough, and won’t be coming back.

Accommodation was great. Food was disappointing. Pork cutlet with caramelised apple and Gorgonzola cheese was 2 under poached/boiled apple quarters and what tasted like cheap blue vein and cream sauce, powdered mash is the norm it appears.
