When meals are hot they are very nice.but I have had 2 cold steak and veg this month.i would like to know if anyone else have had this problem. The are good for the price otherwise. Waitresses are always happy and complying makes it awkward to complain.

We both ordered fish and chips and shared the meals. One was Flathead fillets and the other crumbed Snapper. Both meals were nice, served with chips and salad.
I found the dressing on the salad very bitter and left it on the plate.
The snapper was beautiful but the flathead was a bit overcooked and was quite dry.
Prices are quite expensive when comparing them to similar venues.

Very average food. Three diners at my table expressed disappointment with their steaks. Tough, overcooked. One person left it uneaten. On the positive side, the drink prices were good. Glass of house white for six bucks. Place had the feel of walking into the 1980s.

This review is in regards to the HOT SHOTS event recently at this venue.
Show didn't start on time (one hour late.)
Intermitention was when show was advertised online and on tickets to finish
So babysitter was 😠 😡 👿....
Function area was very nice but I personally think the room temperature was overly HOT on purpose and bars under staffed for the amount of tickets sold

The lunchtime special, Chicken Schnitty, which only cost $25, was worth every cent. The topping had chopped up steak, bacon, cheese and a few other items, made it the best Chicken Parmy I've ever eaten.

Ribs and rump were fantastic. Great atmosphere and friendly and helpful service.

Really wanted a cocktail , didn't have ingredients to make cocktails and had to actually look how to make them , the vodka Cherry was so overpowering , unsure what vodka was used , on a plus side I did win at pokies but can't really rate that

Orderd mexican nachos from the special and no where there did it say that the nachos where hot or spicy. When i got the nachos they were that spicy i couldnt eat them. I went back to the kichen and explained the problem and politely asked for my money back or something in exchange and said if the menue said they were spicy i wouldnt have orderd them. The chefs looked at me funny and the waitress said that because its mexican its implied that it is going to be spicy. And she was not going to give me a refund and said she could put it in a to go box instead.
If i had kids i probobly would have orderd them the nachos to share or just as an apitizer as most perents do, but they were that hot that they would have burned them.
I would have taken the blame if it stated that the food was going to be spicy. They wouldnt take any blame and teated me like i was stupid for not knowing that it was going to be hot.
Other things occurrd there that also upset me and my family but this was the main ordeal. Not coming back

Not local, thought we would pop in here for a pub meal. Nice atmosphere. Lady taking food order was clearly new and learning as when I ordered the lunch steak special, she didn’t ask me how I wanted it cooked or what sauce I wanted- so I had to tell her. She did repeat the order back though which I thought was great. Lady behind the bar was amazing (sleeve tattoos, young, dark hair, gold hoop earrings). She was friendly and after one drink remembered my order when I came up for a second. Food was a short wait and everything was amazing and fresh. Didn’t really like the salad dressing though; but that comes down to personal choice. All in all, happy with our choice

My friends and I have been coming to Sugarland Tavern for over a year now. Even my family and I go there regularly and we all love it so much. The food is so beautiful and they are very considerate for any food changes. Not only is the food delicious, but the service from all the staff is the best around. Specifically from the lovely Jennie. Her bubbly personality always leaves me feeling welcomed. I love that I am able to walk out of here with a satisfied and full belly and a wide smile on my face.

Look this place is good. They don't always mess up your steak but when they do they will replace it. Drink prices are the same as you'd expect in a big city" Bundy isn't that big" but in saying all that people are friendly. The bar staff are so damn good. Like a second home really.

I went here for a dinner on a thursday night. Good deals and good quality of food. It does get busy at times and service was average. Good atmosphere for a pub.

I was having the worst day. And when I lined up to order a good pub feed… I was served with the biggest smile and the best customer service I have ever seen. I have worked in this industry my whole life and all around Australia and never before have I had the best service. Carasa (sorry if I spelt wrong) is a star employee and definitely deserves a pay rise. Thank you

I ordered the 300g steak with veg and mashed potatoes. The steak was under cooked, the vegetables were raw and the mashed potatoes were powdered potato.

I have always found the meal here to be very good also the service is top notch.
But was very surprised to see a 75cent surcharge on my bill as I paid with tap and go, I did not see a sign saying there would be a surcharge for using this service 😡

I hadn't been to the Sugarland Tavern for close to 5 years. The meals used to be delicious. This time around, not only did we have 2 meals incorrectly delivered to our table, we had to return one of the meals to the kitchen, as it had a thick layer of raw flour under the batter. The coleslaw was also super sour and bitter. The consensus from the table was that the meals were "ordinary". It was sad to see that the meal quality had dropped so much. The staff however were lovely and very friendly.

If you want a steak I would really advise against it. I like it medium, my friend likes his well done. He was unable to eat it due to being undercooked. I received my steak rare. On the way out I overheard a couple of ladies saying that their steak wasn't even cooked. I haven't tried their other meals, but if a chef can't get a steak right, I would not go back for a second waste of money. Sorry Sugarland Tavern.

Husband was happy with steak & veg. Chicken parmigiana was a large tasteless meal. If you like bland with no flavour than this your place to eat. Friday night was noisy, busy with large groups and families.

Had parrotfish, spinach, green beans and potatoes. The meal was nice, apart from waiting 20 mins for a meal, but the long wait was expected as it was busy. The staff were friendly that's always a bonus, just by observing the staff while waiting for my meal I could tell that cleaning and sanitizing was high priority, which is good because the last thing you want to finish eat at an unclean place. May come back.

Great meal and very accommodating to elderly who needed veges well cooked. Great job. Very friendly staff. Drink prices were quite steep.

Five years ago I was impressed with this venue, but about a year ago, the quality of food in the bistro had dropped significantly. The other night I decided to give it another go. Went with mains only, so I ordered the garlic prawns with rice, and my dining companion ordered the reef fish grilled. It came with chips and salad. We thoroughly enjoyed our meals. The fish was cooked perfectly and came with delicious chips. The salad was nothing to write home about, but it was totally edible. My prawns had just the right amount of garlic and cream sauce. We will definitely be returning more regularly once again.

First time going here. Had lunch with 3 girl friends to celebrate end of term classes.
Huge servings of meals, which couldn't finish & quite tasty.
Only negatives were at Entry/sign in with QR code, hand sanitizer bottle just on empty and needed replacing. Staff were informed only to ignore my concern and Ladies toilet within the Bistro area, hand wash faulty on the wall & empty. Informed staff & was told by the male staff member behind bar, yeah we looked at that last week, it's ok. I do not like being fobbed off when it comes to hygiene concerns. Staff helpful with our dietary restrictions at Bistro counter.

Every Thursday my colleagues and i come for lunch. Everytime the meals and service are top notch. We've tried most venues in town and nothing compares to the "stav"

Classic parmi and bbq bacon & cheese schnitzel. It was bloody awesome and massive.

Came for lunch. The roast pork was thick and chewy. No crackling which was disappointing. The vegetables over cooked and mushy.
The chicken schnitzel was dry and hard like it had been deep fried too long, and the dressing on the salad was bitter. Really couldn’t eat any of it. Overall not a pleasant lunch. We have agreed for what we paid and the lack of quality we wont be back.

Asked the staff if they can put channel 505 on fox.. staff tried then later manager who can’t be bothered sent his msg they don’t have 505 here. Then later on a staff was scrolling through 505 to 507.. i know it dosen’t matter much its just $50 a night u lost.. leave it bud if u can’t put effort
