Who would’ve thought this would be one of the best pubs in the Inner West? Certainly not me. The drinks are cold and decent priced and it’s got that classic pub feel, everything you need inside a drinking establishment. The best part is the atmosphere, you never know who is going to walk into this palace of drinking. You have everyone from all walks of life and all style, a safe place for all to have a good time.

Went here today to watch the UFC. The pub was great the food was amazing and the drinks were average prices.
Very friendly staff and even had kids and small dogs in the pub too.
It also has a designated area for smokers and really has a great atmosphere. I would highly recommend it

this place is very ordinary for a local pub
the food is horrible
my group normally come in every week but haven't been for a while
we came the other night and the place is still smells terrible, no atmosphere the service is ok but that drew guy doesn't work there anymore, he was the only good thing about the place lol

They say the path to a man's heart is through his stomach, but at the Summer Hill Hotel, the route is a delicious detour! The kitchen wizards here must have sold their souls for such sinfully scrumptious grub. One bite and you'll be uttering profanities usually reserved for romantic endeavors.
Heck, you may not even notice the food with all the eye candy behind the bar. The bartenders belong on the cover of a racy bodice-ripper novel. I found myself ordering drinks I've never heard of just to indulge in some ridiculous banter with them. Was I flirting or just very thirsty? You be the judge...
As if being fed and watered by angels wasn't enough, Lady Luck must've gotten trapped under one of the poker machines here. I was raking in chips like a Vegas high-roller! The only risk is developing a gambling addiction - to these irresistible pokies, that is.
In summary, stumbling into Summer Hill Hotel is like falling into a heart-attack inducing trifecta of ecstasy - food coma, thirst trap, and wallet bulge. My condolences to your arter...well, everything really.
P.S. If this lascivious review has you curious about the rakish rogue who wrote it, just ask your server who ate two plates of the chef's signature 'Coronary Surprise' while winking relentlessly at the staff. I'll be the one leaving a suggestive tip!

The most sullen and unfriendly staff you are likely to encounter in any hospitality environment. If you can get a smile out of any of these people seemingly stuck in their own personal-nightmare then you may as well buy yourself a lottery ticket.
Order a cocktail and you’ll be lucky to receive it at all, without a reminder or two to the bar staff. Order food, it will come out minutes after it was prepared, cold when it arrives.
The good news is there is some nice beverages on tap and sports on the screen. A shame the service forgets what industry it works in.

The manager Prashant was extremely rude and arrogant. We’ve been going to SHH for 4-5 years now and never had a problem there, now I will never return there until they remove this manager - why would you bother!
Sad because it’s been our local for so long and it’s such a shame!
Let us know when or if Prashant leaves!

The atmosphere and ambience were very good with excellent service from the staffs. Especially, Prasant was very helpful and provided us the best service. The food was good aswell. Overall , a good experience. I would definitely recommend it as a good place to hangout with friends. 👍👍👍

Ordered a schnitzel via delivery. It's was quick due chips that had obviously been sitting for a while under a light dry and gross and the schnitzel was covered in rock salt unbearable salt taste and sauce never came with order.
Won't be doing that again in a hurry.
Ok so tried again and it hasn't improved
Dry dehydrated schnitzel can't cut and it's cold
Inedible!!!
KFC would've been cheaper and better

Nice pub right next to summer Hill station. Service is usually swift. Staff is friendly. Food has gotten much better over the years. Great for a week day dinner. Not something to take your first date to though. Beer selection is broad. Beer or fresh and tasty

Me and my partner had dinner here, the service was exceptional. The chef with the glasses was great and the food was amazing. Will definitely be coming here again :)

Looks can be deceiving.
I wasn't expecting too much, but was pleasantly surprised to have had a very tasty burger and chips.
The ideal hangover cure. It definitely hit the spot.
Nice pub, friendly staff, great outside deck.

Its a PUB... And the food out of the kitchen is amazing. On point and and cheap, cheerful and amazing. We went there looking for a classic pub meal after work in Sydney. Tired exhausted and just hungry, with low expectations...a pub so you think you know what to expect.
WELL the backstrap lamb was the most one of the most memorable dishes I have ever eaten. EVER! so curious we went back.
Steak excellent, lobster well priced and ( lobster at a pub?!) geeeshhh-amazing) the food and sides great potion sizes.
The beer on tap great and the atmosphere a little well PUBBISH... it is a pub! we have been back 3 times and will consider it our local when we visit from Canberra... It was welcoming and friendly the staff are so patient. The small kitchen runs like a well oiled clock. 100% the best place esp when you are trade clothes, boots and looking for a feed, this place is not pretentious, super inclusive and 100% great value.

I had a fantastic time at the pub, thanks to attentive staff, Prasant was very excellent. Their level of service was exceptional, ensuring a pleasant and enjoyable meal. Highly recommend for anyone seeking a welcoming atmosphere with outstanding service.

Hit and miss who cooks the food. Also if they leave the nachos under the heat lamps too long it tends to burn the nachos so important to get them out quick. Sometimes there is no staff to bring them out

Had a lovely lunch here today with the family. Good variety of foods to choose from and very reasonably priced. They also have lunch specials Mon to Fri. Lovely and efficient staff.

Great customer service by all the team. Recently had a function there. Daniel (manager) went out of his way to assist despite last minute booking. I sent an email to arrange the function which Daniel was quick to answer however also went into the hotel to organise which was easy. Food is good but could do with a function menu.

Get the Lamb Backstrap Special. It's AMAZING!!!
Atmosphere: It's a pub, not a 5 star restaurant. Service? There's no waiter fawning over you, it's a pub. I suppose it could be better but really a solid 80%.
Why I brought you here was for a review of the Lamb Backstrap that they had as a special last night. Oh. My. God! We live rurally, we've got access to Waygu beef, farm killed lamb, pork, duck and chicken, none of which goes through the regular abattoir trauma. Folks, this lamb was cooked by an UTTER MASTER. So tender, so juicy, so flavourful, without being slow cooked to make it soft. Accompanying mash and broccolini were perfect. Just nothing to criticise at all.
Rump steak? yeah, it was okay as pub rump steak goes, but FOR HEAVEN'S SAKE, JUST GET THE LAMB. IT'S AWESOME.
Beers were nice. I'd prefer less TV screens around the place, but hey, it's a pub meal.
I've had some really bloody good meals in my 50 odd years. This lamb was well up there with the very best I've ever had.

Food was good sized portion, tasty and fair price.
However when I ordered dessert, took them 15mins to realise they had run out of the pudding to tell me. Should be better communication between the bar staff taking the orders and kitchen crew on what's available.
The trivia sound setup needs improving - sounds like the host is under water so it was very hard to hear the questions.

Ended up here for lunch after driving through Summer Hill. We thought with pub classics you really cant go wrong these days.
The pub was very quiet when we arrived only a small amount of tables expecting food and a few just drinking. Unfortunately, the food took forever to arrive. It was just fish and chips and a steak sandwich so should not have taken that long (at least 40 minutes). When they arrived I could see straight away that the fish was frozen - I've seen the same fish in cafe's and other pubs, 3 small sticks of fish in bland batter and to add to the disappointment of the fish the chips were almost cold. This was also accompanied by a sad, wilted side salad. $25
We also ordered a steak sandwich. The meat was just ok but a bit greasy and fatty and generally boring with way too much mayo which made the whole experience eating it just messy and oily. $25. We've experienced amazing fresh food in pubs for the same price or less. There seemed to be no reason the food took this long and arrive cold The service was friendly enough but this food was the worst I've had in ages.

Don't go there unless you book. We couldn't have dinner there because all the tables were booked for Trivia night. Can't give a review.

Delicious steak, two pool tables but could use a refresh. Everything felt a bit sticky. The vibe was a bit sticky.

Average local pub. It’s now a lot better after the renovation back in 2020. Can get a bit rowdy at times but overall nice atmosphere. Food is good, reasonably priced - just your typical pub feed. Cheap pint is a winner though, $7 atm for beer of the month.

Seems like they've updated their menu and the head chef, the food here so much better now and so well priced. 4 stars.

A great place to hang out with friends and family. Price-wise there is not much difference compare to other competitors but the food is good with big portions. I will definitely recommend you to come and enjoy the vibes. We were there on Wednesday when they had the trivia nights.

A classic local pub opposite Summer Hill train station, it has a gaming room, small bar area, bottle shop & a large indoor and outdoor /balcony dining area where you can sit outdoors and see the train passing by. The food is classic pub fare & it comes out fairly quickly. Schnitzel is good as was the steak. Fries are always good especially the sweet potato fries. Servings are decent and weekday lunch specials are great value. Bar service is very friendly.
