Work Christmas dinner with a fixed menu. If I'd been paying for the food - it would have been sent back to the kitchen. Very average, probably won't return.

We popped in for lunch and the food was fantastic. They were very accommodating of our requests and the staff were very friendly. Shout out to Bobbie who was bubbly, friendly and extremely helpful. Will be back on our next trip to Hobart.

We had the function room for retirement drinks. Only down side was having to get the bar staff's attention every time someone wanted a beer.

We had lunch on saturday at the Black Buffalo hotel and was very pleased with the meal . Very healthy food .great menu and friendly staff . I had the travally ; Delicious and my other half had steak he really enjoyed. I'm on a low sugar diet and made the mistake of ordering Orange juice , it was way too sweet , I could not drink it .but apart from that it was fantastic . They also do parmies as big as a dinner plate lol

Underated restaurant. The standard pub fare is fine but the menu is also regulary updated with interesting and well prepared dishes. Great function room.

The staff were very friendly and fun to interact with. Ordering at the bar instead of having orders taken at the table was a let down, was standing in line for ages waiting for just one table to decide what they wanted and order AT the counter. The Surf and Turf I ordered was nice although bits of the meat were chewy/hard and essentially inedible. However the overall dining experience was good with the Angle of Death brownie and Flat White being thoroughly enjoyed afterwards.

There was 15 of us on Saturday and 5 of us had scallops and they where dry ,hard,very small .The price was over priced $28 for less then 8 in a very small dish not happy at all and I won't be going back there again -5 but the staff I given them 5 starts.

Staff inattentive, had to go to the bar for water and glasses. Fish was beautiful, vegetables soggy mess.

Revamped pub with good menu. We stayed in the accommodation upstairs which is dated and needs some love, but was priced accordingly.

Really I don't like it ....vegetables are always overcooked. Just a basic home cooked meal.

Quite a big room, super comfy bed, polite and helpful staff. The accomodation was really good! Made our stay in Hobart even better.

Last work day before Xmas, too noisy, with other over excited loud groups, for us, smaller quieter group to converse. Separated bar/gaming from dining. Great service, if over worked prior to Christmas. Exceptional lunches menu

I booked two hotels in Hobart. first one from 7 Jan to 9 Jan and Black Buffalo from 10 Jan to 12 Jan. Because of COVID number increase during break so i have to cancel my booking on 4 Jan. first hotel didn't deduct any money but Black Buffalo deducted $125 from my account. booking.com try to negotiate with Black Buffalo, but they declined their request. i m not sure why they claim i didn't cancel so have to take $125 from me. this made me feel bad. first hotel didn't deduct anything.
i will still go to Hobart when COVID settle. but this Black Buffalo definitely not on my list

Great place to stay in the busy city of Hobart. In the height of summer it's difficult to find a room and this motel in north Hobart is a short 30 minute walk from the waterfront. The room was very clean and comfortable and the staff were very helpful. The restaurant was very busy every night although I didn't try it this must indicate that previous reviews of food are true. I would recommend this motel.

Every time I've stayed here the reception area is closed for the day and I have to go to the bar which can be annoying. Great counter meal food, though being a popular with the locals there is a decent amount of swearing that little kids probably shouldn't be exposed it.

E dealt with Jenna recently following the death of my father and needed to arrange a wake with few details and little time. Nothing was too much, they were professional and friendly at all times and flexible on the day with ordering due to the large turnout. Would definitely recommend for a future function. Thank you.

Decent hotel. Positives - Close to city, ample parking, friendly staff, big room, comfy beds, clean bathroom, plenty of towels. Negatives - Websites advertises "Spoil yourself with room service" yet when we called downstairs to order food to be delivered to our room (because one of us was sick in bed) we were told the hotel didn't do room service.

Black Buffalo Hotel Melbourne Cup Lunch. Great atmosphere good food and drinks and prizes and efficient and friendly staff.

Black Buffalo Hotel Hobart surrounding is quite . The room is spacious. It is a two stoery building . There is no lift so it is a little difficult for seniors.

Black buffalo great service. Had the pork belly though and no crackling! So was just skin and fat at the top. Not the best meal I've had there. Otherwise I love it here!

Adam and his team at the Black Buffalo go above and beyond when you have a function at the Black Buffalo.
