We rolled in here at 8:30pm after checking into our hotel. Its a fairly standard sports bar/club affair. It looks like it might have been recently renovated, as the decor is very clean and open.
Service was friendly but I did have to find menus etc by myself. I couldn't see any signs to guide me either.
The food was average. I had the Wednesday night $15 rump steak which I was happy with for the money but might have felt a bit hard done by if I paid full price. My partner had a charred barramundi dish from the chefs feature menu, and again, no complaints but nothing to write home about.
Grabbed a cheap bottle of Barossa Shiraz for $28 which drank ok and overall dinner set us back about $80, which is reasonable.

Well worth the drive from Flynn's Beach. Good food, good vibe and pleasant staff. Service was fast and plenty of choice on the menu.

Until eating at the Tacking Point Tavern I have NEVER had a steak which had been adequately seasoned with pepper. I am one of those firm believers that there is NO such thing as too much pepper and have to apologise to the wait staff as I commandeer the pepper mill and proceed to drown my food in what most would deem an entirely unacceptable amount of pepper... The 200gm pepper crusted sirloin met my expectations with aplomb. Accompanied by a flavoursome and delicious peppercorn sauce it left me wishing the steak was twice as big. I will be back!

TPT has a sports bar atmosphere. On a Friday evening it had a mixture of workers and families there for the food which was tasty and reasonably priced. It feels suburban. Not edgy but not staid.

The food took a little while to come out, but it was worth the wait. The steak was perfectly cooked! And the veggies were fresh. The size of the meals was satisfying. The space was comfortable, and the service was friendly. Would eat here again.

Tacking point tavern is a great little family friendly pub, with a large open style seating both indoors and outdoors. Offering a variety of food and beverage options, staff are friendly and attentive, parking is the only sort of draw back can be tight sharing the shopping centres carpark, the team in the bottleshop are great also always willing to recommend something new and help you out,

TACKING POINT TAVERN ! Easter long weekend !! My family and I went to the tavern Monday the 1st April and the food, drinks, customer service was amazing !!! BILLY & CODY in the bar were so lovely and took the time to serve us inform us of our options for lunch even thou they were so busy ! The lovely MJ also accommodated us in the gaming section. We had the steak and tacos for lunch and our little ones had kids meals all the food was 10/10 and I would highly recommend the tavern if you have a young family and need a relaxed afternoon out in the sunshine. Thank you Billy and team for your hospitality !!

Outdoor area is awesome and having the play area for kids is a big plus. Food is great and good value, check out the specials nights as there is always a good deal going.

Oktoberfest was in full swing.
Staff dressed in appropriate style.
Menu written in German, with all German fare including Nona's Apple Strudel
Food was delicious, and served quickly.
Absolutely loved our afternoon @ this venue.

No vego options on the menu, asked for the tacos with no chicken and two staff members were incredibly rude and judgemental about it. The guy taking the order laughed at it and was judgemental and asking why, the lady who brought out the food was also extremely rude and judgmental and questioning us about it. The steak was so tough you couldn’t even stick a fork it, food was terrible. 5 stars to Mikey who was behind the bar and gave us a refund for the steak and also gave a free drink and was extremely apologetic. 0 stars to everyone else.

Nice venue. Was looking forward to being able to eat near the kids playground but there was a function on. Food was disappointing - $32 for a Mexican snitzel - $6 of that being a tablespoon of brown guac, the salsa was just diced tomato and the sour cream was runny close to non existent liquid.

Nice looking place but food service was so slow. Little care was put into meal preparation. Portion sizes were so small I went home to have a sandwich. Staff seemed uninterested and didn't want to be there. Not keen on ever going back

I had the Octopus Risotto and It was fantastic. Great flavour, I am a Chef of 40+ years and this was a quality dish. Complements to the Chef.

Holidaying in Port Macquarie. Went to Tacking Point Tavern two nights in a row for dinner as the food and service is so good. We can recommend the pan seared Barramundi with crispy skin, Marguerite pizza, rump steak with mushroom sauce and chicken schnitzel. Staff are super friendly and helpful.

Have visited twice in a 3 night period and have really appreciated the friendliness and efficiency of the staff. Randomly, my husband also appreciated the clarity of the blackboard handwriting. He feels this is a nice touch.

Great place for the family and your mates. Pool nights on a Thursday are great. The food never disappoints. Live bands on the weekend.

But totally Flabbergasted with patrons Smoking in the Gaming Room...
With No regards to any other non Smokers in the venue.. by Management or staff When
Asked why..the answer was it's accepted here in Port Macquarie N.S.W.

Great food. Steak is always cooked to perfection as ordered. Great customer service. Never had any trouble finding a car park. Great for families with a large inside playground that is conveniently at the end of a separate room to allow you to eat and keep your eyes on the kids without disturbing other patrons who don't want to see screaming children 😀

Food was amazing.. fresh fast and very tasty.. extremely well priced and every single staff member was polite and friendly both times we have been there.. will definitely be a regular well worth the 30 minute drive north from home to get there

Dropped in for a quick bite. It looks and feels like a cool little local for the people at Port Macquarie. There's a lot of staff around so you can tell the service is good. It has everything that you expect from a Tavern, such an outdoor music area with DJ, a good variety of food on the menu...a few pool tables and it has a good family vibe to the place. Not sure how it is at night. Otherwise it's a nice place to drop in.

Came up for the Easter Long Weekend with my family. All staff were friendly and approachable, food was great and atmosphere was amazing.

Came back to port to catch up with some mates. Chucked some money on the tab.. then they closed the tab without telling anyone at 8pm, then wouldnt let us cash out our tickets?!?
How can a business close the tab machine and still service pizza's? Poor comms

Amazing menu with so many options and choices. Some really good daily specials with a really good kids menu. Something for everyone in a great atmosphere. Really clean, modern and fresh facilities. Fantastic pub!

After waiting for over an hour & a half l was told my order got stuck to another order & was missed. During this time I checked twice before & was told it's coming but they were busy. When we finally got our meals the was average at best. My barramundi was over cooked & burnt at the ends. All chips on 4 meals were over cooked & dry. To make it worse other orders on my table were made well after my order & served well before ours. This is the second time I have received this service & there will not be a third. No apologies, no drinks offered, no discount offered after spending $200.
