Went here for dinner tonight, what an overpriced disappointment. I ordered the salmon, there was none (and hasn't been/won't be available for a while) so I ordered the lamb shanks and my partner had the scotch fillet (medium). The $44 scotch fillet looked and tasted like an overcooked piece of topside. The lamb shanks were nice but they weren't "shanks" it was ONE shank. I'm not sure how long this apparent "typo" has been on your menu but if you're not aware already it's actually ILLEGAL to give false or misleading information. I was left so hungry that I started eating the complimentary bar snacks - which is a really nice idea, especially as the meals you pay for are so small. The only thing wonderful about this place was the lovely lady Emily who took our order. She has great energy, very friendly and accommodating. I feel sorry for her having to constantly explain to customers that meals on the menu are either unavailable or not as described.||I read another review saying the Tamworth Hotel were advertising $1 oysters on their website and on a sign out the front of their hotel, but were told, once inside, that there were no oysters. The owners response was sorry, due to public holiday the oysters weren't fresh, I'm sure you don't want week old oysters........ ||What a pathetic response, seriously. It's YOUR responsibility to check your advertising is CORRECT and UP TO DATE. It takes 2 seconds to write "N/A" on the sign advertising the oysters, or put an update your Facebook page or website - given they were a "week old" it sounds life to had plenty of time to warn customers and update your advertising. Yet another example of false and misleading advertising.

We came here for a drink as well as for dinner. They have a large outdoor area which is fabulous and in the evenings the bar opens up outside. Inside there is a large dining area which is more modern and looks like an extension of the older hotel. However, the front bar is amazing. The nostalgia and beauty of this pub is to be seen. We went here three times during our stay and enjoyed each moment. (Note we did not stay in a room - but google gives no options to exclude the room when completing stars).

Very clean. Helpful staff. Main meal very nice. Dessert terrible. Easy access from cbd.

Really enjoyed going to dinner here. I haven't been to this pub for years & they've really done it up. The meals were delicious, not a complaint from any of us & it was a lovely decor too. We sat by the window overlooking the beer garden which would be lovely to sit in during the warmer weather. The pub was packed even though it was a Tuesday night & yet our meals came out promptly & were served by friendly staff. If you're looking for a nice meal in a nice place, I'd definitely recommend that you try Tamworth hotel 👍

Really cute, clean rooms. Communal showers were spotless. My only drawback was no one on reception in the morning. We lost our keys and couldn't get hold of anyone before 10ish (the keys were found behind the bar). Other than that, I highly rate The Tamworth Hotel.

Love this pub when visiting during Country Music! Sensational venue, saw Kevin Bennet & The Flood. Never disappoints! Hats off to The Tamworth Hotel. Thank you for the awesome music ♥️👏🎶 👏♥️

Loved the practically untouched inside of the premises, friendly staff behind bar. But the food was a real let down. Steaks come out on wrong plates and we're extremely ordinary cuts of meat neither could be finished.

Just had the worst pub meal ever! 6x pork 1/2 circle dumplings the size 1/2 of a matchbox on an empty plate (you know the sort from Woolies?) $16 bucks and a small bowl of soy sauce. All I got! What a bloody joke!
This review has been up for weeks. No comment from the hotel in regard to this review. Just goes to show they don't give a " Rats Arse" about the review process. Avoid this joint.

It’s very rare to write a review while I’m still sitting at the table I’ve just completed a meal from. This is the exception.
That was at least in the top five of burgers I’ve ever had. And I mean EVER. The ingredients were fresh. The chips were hot and crispy. The finishing touch was the way the beef pattie on the cheeseburger was cooked. Perfectly charred ever so slightly. Very juicy but not messy.
And the staff are not only incredibly friendly and welcoming. They’re also gorgeous!
The room is basic but tidy and clean. The inclusion of a split system aircon AND a powerful ceiling fan is perfect for the 30 plus weather at this time of year.
This is my first stay here and in Tamworth. And this will be my go to venue from now on.

Had a massive storm roll in whilst there, not a bad place to wait it out! Good selection of drinks, lamb cutlets where good (probably could of got a couple extra as they weren’t massive) nice beer garden area out the back! Worth a look!

Great pub, old school aesthetic and comfy couches. Has air con and great music. Loses points though as they really need to upgrade the facilities - it’s a large pub and there are only 2 ladies toilets in the whole venue 🤯

Good location. Experienced the beer garden, very well set up for social, office, gatherings. Awesome food. Best vege lasagne ever!

Good bar and restaurant, and pool table (recommend it). Guinness on tap, but a wood fireplace not functioning, which would have added a lot to a night in Winter!

Food, service and atmosphere was great! I dined both in and outdoors and ordered the Chicken Schnitzel. So good. It was a very hot 38 degree day and although there are misters and fans in the beer garden, I would recommend dining inside.

First time to Tamworth and popped in early Saturday evening for dinner and almost all tables were reserved, lucky we got a spot and ordered food.
Note not all items on the website menu are on the in-house menu.
Anyways, ordered drinks and meals promptly arrived within 10 minutes. Have to say that chicken parmie was great, rest of party said similar with their orders.
Was driving so didn't explore the bar, which was buzzing at the time and looked like a place you could spend some time in.
All in all pretty impressed with friendly staff and food.

Fantastic country Pub experience, this will be a must stop at place whenever in the neighbourhood. My sons and I arrived for dinner after a long day on the road heading south as hungry as almighty and ordered three mains and two entrees. Food arrived in record time just after sitting back down from getting a pint, we were all so happy with the food quality. Rump steak was cooked perfectly and tasted superb, I will order the pulled brisket on chips every time without fail it was amazing. Younger son loved the chicken schnitzel and pulled pork nachos too! I was wanting country lamb chops and was not disappointed in the least - crumbed lamb cutlets definitely met my expectations.
After dinner we sat around the open fire,
the comfortable old leather lounges, tartan carpet all set the mood.
Top pub, as must go!

Excellent food and service. We are in the beer garden on a Saturday evening. It was chilly but the great gas heaters kept us warm. The food was fresh and enjoyed by all. As a wheelchair user it was great to have an easily accessible bathroom. The manager went out of his way to help me.

Entrees were good. Mains were terrible. We had 1x lamb shank, 1 x parmi, 1 x kids pasta. Disappointed

Decent room. Currently locked out of front of pub, venue key doesn’t fit the lock. All my luggage locked inside, no after hours answering service for guests. Guess I’ll just wait here??

Came here for dinner with colleagues while in town on a work trip. The food was awesome, beer garden is a great outdoor atmosphere, staff were lovely.. but honestly it was the trivia and the guy who hosted it that we're the most memorable of the night! 10/10 would recommend

Best chicken burger I’ve ever had, great friendly staff and locals. Blew in for a bike service on a Sunday afternoon and couldn’t have made more welcome. Definitely recommend the Tamworth for food and friendliness. Well worth the money I spent!!!

Beautiful historic place
Great service and friendly bar girl
Nice accommodation; clean bed and cutie room.
Noisy outside fan until late night and The room did not have curtains to block the light coming from 6:30 am from the front building.
Toilet had nice old look, but need lost of work; repairs, cleaning and drainage cleaning

Away for work in town, me and my CEO decided to have a little fun after work. We noticed it was trivia Tuesday and endeavoured for a game. The questions were out of this world! The beer was nice and cold, and the locals were lovely but stiff competition ;)

As myself and two lady friends went to this establishment we were taken back by it’s first impressions.
Walking in the front doors of the pub was a lightly lit bar, creating a cool and relaxing atmosphere.
The copper handles and dark wood was pleasantly complimented by a historic tartan carpet.
As we walked further through to the beer garden we had been moistened by mystified water particles falling from the well placed above head reticulation system implanted among the vines.
We decided to have a late lunch anticipating the standard country options.
But we wound ourself up to our elbows in a succulent chicken taco as my other lady friend ate what could only be described as a well pulled pork. 🤤
I myself, ate a thick, juicy and lightly blooded rump, which cut like butter with their highly efficient cavalier steak knifes.
If anyone was looking at visiting or passing through Tamworth your life will only be known as dim, if you don’t take the time to experience what the pub has to offer.

Always excellent place to dine. The steak was delicious and cooked to my liking. A bit noisy in the bistro but all clientele having a good time and well behaved.
