We went here for lunch on the last day of our holidays - very disappointed to say the least. The menu was average as it is in most pubs these days, and the specials board offered a few different options so we chose the slow cooked lamb shanks with mash and green beans. $30 was a bit expensive for what we got, a small plate with a fairly fatty lamb shank, smothered in a tomato sauce which wasn't mentioned on the blackboard, a few green beans and a bit of mash. Was it worth the price? No. Would we return again? No. Very disappointing indeed.

We travelled around QLD and stopped in Tannum for 2 nights. Had a feed at the pub and it was hands down THE BEST food we have had on our entire trip. Their steak was melt in your mouth delicious. Would highly recommend stopping in here! Atmosphere was relaxed and is kid friendly with a games room and playground. We stayed in the motel and the room was very clean and tidy and well-kept. Would give higher rating if I could!

We hired a venue for a birthday party. Platters were absolutely magnificent and huge! Everything was cooked perfectly and was all very fresh! Uneaten food was packaged and we were able to take home with us. Espresso martini was the best I've ever had!

We had a lovely meal of Coral tout (fish of the day) and lemon pepper calamari which was served with adequate salad. We could have gone to the self serve and got more but we didn'tneed to. The only down side was the rice with the coral trout was on the dry side. We sat outside (a little noisy inside) and enjoyed the view out to the ocean. The service and the staff were very efficient and friendly. We'll definitely be back.

Very disappointed with the quality of food, the meals were below average for the price paid. The focaccia bread for burgers was cold the steak was so thin the salad in burger was 2 slices of tomotoe - little lettuce and side of the worst bottom of the bag chips. 1 meal we had to take back as it was inedible. Couldn’t eat the calamari that was left didn’t bother taking that back. Would not go back.

This pub is located away from the beach near the middle of town. It’s not gourmet. It’s quantity over quality with barefooted kids screaming as they run around the restaurant. After lining up to order food we were told there’s no menus and the only menus were in an adjoining room. The bar staff don’t like opening fresh bottles of wine as it inconveniences them. The only wine looked like it was opened last month with just a few dregs left. The food we received was just edible and served army canteen style without any thought of presentation. With no competition they have a captive audience. Not the sort of place you’d want to come back to. 2 stars at best.

The food took a long time to arrive as you'd expect during busy period. However, the cutlery was dirty. Couldn't find anything that was clean enough for me to use. The food itself when it arrived was obviously rushed, not cooked well and had no flavour. I might go back for drinks but definitely not food.

Stopped for lunch and decided a frozen cocktail on a very warm day was much needed. Food was fine, air con was not great. If it was cooler, would have enjoyed it so much more.

Staff were absolutely fabulous. Floor staff couldn’t do enough to relocate us to another table inside for the NRL game 3. (A table of very, very loud women with raucous laughter and their kids with “outside voices” made it unpleasant to enjoy our meal and watch the game.) The chicken schnitzel was probably one of the best I’ve ever had and the chef was very careful with my mushroom allergy. Bless. The bar staff, a young bloke, was happy for me to taste two red wines before selecting one to purchase. No drama. Very happy to recommend this pub.

Sometimes great atmosphere and great stuff on for kids however food is average and overpriced schnitzels are dry they have the monopoly being the only pub in Tannum/Boyne better food and specials at Diceys in town.

Signage is poor, we went past. We then turned in, & were confronted by the NO ENTRY signs on the bottle shop. So we went into the car park, but then couldn’t see an office, so found the bar, which we discovered was the place to check in. Our room was clean and adequate, with breakfast cereals, tea & coffee, & milk provided, and 3 cutlery bundles. It was nice to have a back door with a table & chairs, & a view to the sea, only 5 minutes drive away. On the downside, the light over the bathroom mirror was not working. There was only one small bedside table, between the double and single beds. There was no hot breakfast available, but a cafe nearby filled that need. The restaurant was reasonable, although service a little slow. I had grilled salmon, which was hot and nicely presented. My husband’s burger was enormous, enough for 2. I noted that deserts were served in paper cups, not a good look for a restaurant. Our room, no 5, was quite quiet, even though the location is next to a large roundabout. We were there on a week night. I’m wondering how the noise levels would be on Friday or Saturday, when the bar and perhaps live music were busier. In summary, a comfortable location close to the beach, and not far (30 minutes) from the city centre.

Shame. Great spot, good building and some willing staff. Management is a shambles though and the food? Absolutely shocking. Coral trout cooked within an inch of fossilisation. Ribs the same. Perfect example of no other choice. However if you want to eat and have staff who are invested, go to the Surf club. More pared back but much better food and a warmer atmosphere.

Ordered food, got told 45minutes. Waited an hour and a half, fair enough. hope the food is good and hot then. The only thing served warm was chips. they were not even hot. My steak sandwich was cold and the hardest bread I've ever had. It literally hurt and damaged the roof of my mouth. Tasted as if it was already stale, cooked until burnt, left cold then reheated to turn hard as a rock. Can't wait to wake up to an inflamed mouth for the next few days. I only continued eating as we were very hungry and didn't want to get a refund, wait longer and go elsewhere.

Love to visit this venue every time that i'm in the area. Well set up and run. We sat outside in the beer garden, overlooking the ocean, watching the ships go by, all the while a soloist was playing some really smooth tunes. Kids playground off to one side.

Hi all, I must admit this place is very nice on a Saturday for a family of 4, drinks are at an average price and energy is great. Only disappointment was our order for food, happy to wait for an hour but in the time frame instead of dine in, chose to takeaway in heavy service time but order was spiked and not fully received til we came to the kitchen at 8:50PM, only after a quick discussion with the kitchen that our order was missing the chef was obviously feeling bad but we both resolved the situation. I would not steer away from this place, im happy the staff is willing to resolve a situation and continue to improve.

Had lunch here today and it was 5 stars across the board! Staff were welcoming and friendly, service was quick and meals were amazing. The steak was an absolute 10/10 and I joined the clean plate club with a delicious carbonara. ||We ate indoors and there was room for our pram between the tables, though it wasn’t super busy. I’m sure the staff would be happy to assist if space was limited but we had no troubles with accessibility. ||We are loving Tannum Sands and if we are back we’ll be eating here again!

Food was great, very tasty. But children allowed to run around screaming and just generally out of control place was dirty, tables sticky no service but happy to charge a surcharge on everything extremely hot, wouldn't go back or recommend it to anyone. Couldn't possibly relax and enjoy a drink for the evening.

Amazing place, friendly staff and friendly locals. Highly recommended. The views from our room were amazing. Room was quiet overnight. The bed was ok comfort wise but price for the room was great, tavern had great meals well priced and staff were friendly and helpful. Right next to supermarket and fuel station perfect for an overnight stay on a big trip.
