We stopped by for a rest and refreshments on our travel through the area. Great views of surrounding area. Ample parking too. Very friendly staff and quick service. Clean and ample restrooms. Only downfall, elevator not working so a bit hard on the legs and back for the oldies like me. We didn't eat but the dishes passing by looked very appetising, we'll make an effort to stop for diner next time in town.

We came as a group of six for Saturday lunch. Very nice environment, good outlook over the surrounding greenery and view, noise pleasantly low, ambience good, food was good quality. Vegetables sides were well selected, it’s not a Michelin starred restaurant, but very pleasant pub food, excellent place for family groups, in a nice atmosphere. We ate the seniors menu, which included dessert, with cakes, panacotta and a wonderful raspberry sorbet, which reminded me of Berthillon in Paris on the Ile de la Cite

The kid meal is 14 dollars, but my 6 years old kid still feels hungry after it. It's totally not worth it. Adult meals are average and overpriced.

Thank you to the manager "Sheldon" & the lovely bistro staff today for my husband's "Special Birthday" . There was 12 of us & we could not fault anything on the day at this beautiful venue! Food , service & atmosphere ten out of ten 👍👌👏👏👏👏

Surprisingly spacious & modern. Deceptive from outside being an older style hotel. Good food & service. Membership available. Ample parking at the rear. Wheelchair accessibility.

Pleasant atmosphere, good service and dishes were traditional and tasted reasonable. It was spacious and we could hear each other talk easily unlike many noisy and crowded restaurants.

Parma was good but considering it’s Father’s Day so pretty busy they put several day old so called roast potatoes on the plate- they were pretty bad. Golden rule: you can’t re-cook spuds from the previous day/S and people won’t like them. Roast Potatoes must be cooked on the day.

Ordering food is slow, they need to move to a QR based Ordering and payment method Kids under 12 menu , we ordered fish n chips and there was a small piece of fish with a huge portion of chips.. we expected 2 portions of fish Senior grilled fish and vegetables.. the vegetables were hard not fully cooked .. broccoli, cauliflower, pumpkin.. We presented the issue on not fully cooked vegetables and eventually they agreed to replace the vegetables.. still they were crunchy Overall food was okay. I think there's not enough staff and thus quality of service is lacking.

Nice sports bar with 2 pool tables! Food was average only :( Chicken in the butter chicken was a bit over cooked… Chicken Parma was meh… Can’t go wrong with Somersby apple cider! Good cake and ice cream selection! Heard there’s indoor playground for kids!

My household used to come here regularly, but have stopped due to the unpleasant dining experience. The dining area is really noisy and unpleasant. On our last visit we left early as it was so loud and strressful. There are often children running about being disruptive around the bar area.

My elderly Parents have dementia and don't eat much at all. I ordered them 2 kids meals because they don't eat much at all. They didn't even finish them! They played the pokies and put a fair amount of money in the machines. I was told they can only order off the seniors menu next time. This is ridiculous! They hardly eat! I am sure the hotel made plenty of money from them!!

Mains meals are fantastic in variety and taste as well as value. Unfortunately the starters are as bad as I've seen . Below is $17.50 worth of duck rolls with sweet and sour. Buffalo wings and calamari cost more and portions are even smaller. Mains, good...starters , avoid at all cost. Also taking away empty glasses seems to be outof fashion. Very good venue and atmosphere though

Lovely atmosphere, friendly, helpful staff, menu with an abundance of choice to suit all food requirements, coffee cake deals and not to forget their very own distillery over the bar. Next time we're back in Melbourne, we'll be sure to stop by The Tempy!

I recently visited the Templestowe Hotel for the first time since they updated and moved away from the all-you-can-eat buffet. While I was a little disappointed that the buffet was no longer available, I was pleasantly surprised by the new menu and the excellent service. The place was very accommodating, especially as we were there for a christening with a decent-sized booking. Everything went smoothly, and the food was really nice, well-cooked, and well-presented. Overall, it was a great experience, and I look forward to coming back again.

I came here on the 22/06 and I was having a drink in the sports bar. I was served by a really lovely young girl with long hair that had great customer service, she was positive , smiling and extremely polite. I also seen her interacting with other customers and she was so vibrant and positive. She deserves some recognition for her good customer service. I would hire her in a heart beat if she came to my work place.

Hotel has had a make over and looks bright and fresh as a result. The buffet has gone and a new menu introduced with senior pricing added instead of a separate seniors menu. The food was delivered to the table quickly and the super checked with us to make sure we were happy. We were. Noticed there is now a small seating area in the pokies, handy when waiting for the gamblers to finish. Only disappointment is the bar stools in the main bar smoking area. A great place to catch up with friends or family for a meal.

Have enjoyed dining on several occasions at Tempy Pub. The food variety and quality is great with lots of healthier options. I was super impressed with the service when I dined with my extended family, a group of 17 people on the Sunday before Christmas. The pub was at capacity and we still managed to get our meals in a timely manner. Staff are friendly and are great at making adjustments to meals. Would highly recommend for large groups and groups with children also.

Hadn't been here for probably 30 years and was pleasantly surprised. Great renovation, pleasant ambiance, good choice in menu and food quality is better than average. Will return and recommend to friends.

Great menu with lots of variety, catered for dietary for one us and we're super helpful, pool tables are in good order and at $2 good value, good range of beers, what more can be said👍🏼 I have to say my Parma was huge and amazing, I opted for the three pigs Parma with chorizo and bacon, I did change the barbeque sauce for Napoli but next level, bold statement as I have had alot of parmas in alot of places but it was unbelievable, the guys who ate my left overs agreed, one of the best parmas in Australia 👏🏼🍻 everyone was happy with the meals, except Bolognese but who gets that at a pub except kids 🙈 will definitely be back to see what the rest of the menu is like 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟 was definitely earned

Great local dinner spot in the heart of templestowe. The new renovations make such a massive difference, a big turnaround from what the tempy hotel used to be. Fit out is very modern with a lot of thought in the layout. Staff very friendly and most importantly food was beautifully cooked medium rare steak actually cooked properly with well portioned meals. A selection of deserts would be nice as the cake display is a bit of let down but overall good experience. Cold Beer on tap and beer from the tank is very good.

Friendly customer service. Kids eat free at the 5:30pm Friday sessions and they get to enjoy the entertainment of a clown in the kids area right where you can still see. Much nicer and quieter than other all you can eat places that we have been to. They pre set the table for you and I feel it had a nicer vibe than other places. I guess even customers are nicer dressed than other places I've been to lol. Great range of desserts and a nice long buffet filled with great tasting food. The ribs were falling off the bone and tasted delicious (chef special) Definitely our new favourite! We have already recommended this place to friends and we will be back in the future.

Food was very good for a pub but the sizes were just a touch small for price. But it was great for our table of 12 old friends on a catch-up

Food review: Atmosphere was nice, felt like the decor had splashes of updates. But some of it felt like it is aging. The seafood basket was good, crispy seafood and decent salad. Felt it was on the pricier end. Wanted to order the ribs special but they sold out. Staff were friendly enough.

Ever since this pub has been renovated, my experience has been disappointing. The food isn't worth the price, the atmosphere lacks.

Disappointed A $50 steak should be reasonable at best. I asked the lovely lady who served me if she could ask the chef what cut of meat he/she would recommend. (No options under $45) She went back to ask the chef and the 20 year old manager stopped her and came out and tried to explain what the cuts of meat were about with his vast experience and knowledge The rib eye is juicy but a bit smaller The porterhouse is a bit bigger The rump is if you are really hungry. The lady who took my order (who was absolutely lovely) apologised and said that she was not allowed to talk to the chef $50 steak Not happy Jan

Called in for lunch on the run. The food was actually very good! We probably shouldn't have eaten our meals in the sporting room as the atmosphere was terrible. Next time, we will check out the bistro.
