We were there for valentine’s we ordered squid was undercooked, garlic bread was like garlic butter on bread, not toasted and two fillet Mignon We asked for medium well done, and we got a medium rare not great chef

We ordered a few dishes and they were pretty average. Farmer's plate - The chorizo was badly burnt as seen in the picture. Buffalo chicken - the batter was so dry and hard. Thai beef salad - the sticky beef sauce was way too sweet. Chicken pesto pasta and lobster were so so. The best dishes were probably the pickled salad and chips. We booked a table in advance via their website and was told our name was not in the booking. When showing our confirmation email, we were then advised their website was not working well, should have booked via Facebook or phone. No apologies and a "We don't care" attitude.

Went on a Friday night with kids and extended family. It was busy. Food came in record time, it was really good. Steaks could do with a bit more seasoning, but would definitely go there again.

Went looking for a steak, found this pub & THEN... Saw the Henry Snitz.. WOW, Great meal, full of flavor, salad was dressed, chips were good..but the Henry.. Awesome, just what I needed to fill me up. & it did. Seemed a rather busy bistro on a Sunday, & after The Henry, I can see why.

We had to wait over an hour and as we were going to a show we had to leave without dinner. Will never give there again.

Was in town for the big race last week and we were drawn in to The 1880 for a beer while it was raining. We ended up having the best American Hotdog Parmie that we have ever had. So much so that we came back 2 days later and had another one!
Great food, great atmosphere, cold beer. Can't wait to come back!

Usually love this pub, came out Saturday for my 20th birthday and the bloke at the front tried saying my ID was fake then he got over it. once inside it was good enjoyed a few drinks then some random fella decided to assault me and the door man bloke with a Mohawk decides to kick me out for “fighting” when I never touched the person who assaulted ME. Retrain your doormen especially that knob.

This pub was incredibly overpriced and disappointing. Firstly, the staff spent the majority of their time ignoring customers, with customers waiting to be served while four staff members chat amongst themselves and were dancing to music. Considering the price of the meals you would expect some level of table service and pleasant decor. However, what you get are bland, empty and dirty tables, no table service whatsoever and a sticky floor. Then there's the food. I got the pan fried snapper which was $32 or therabouts. My fish was overcooked with a chewy crust on the bottom that I couldn't cut through, the dregs of chips and a teacup full of salad. I've had better cooked fish from my local fish n chip shop. This meal was incredibly disappointing and I recommend you go somewhere else where you want pay a fortune to be disappointed.

The Rump Steak was freaking huge and soo juicy 🤤 Perfectly cooked to my liking (medium rare) compliments to the chef's 👌
Drinks are all well priced and we tried a vast majority of them 😅 Well worth a visit to this Pub for a meal or drink(s), while you're in Bathurst!

The most beautiful lobster prawn morney I've eaten in years!! Also the 1880 schnitzel's were amazing!! Hats off to the chef!! We will definatley be back

Sunday lunch for 3 people before a show in the theatre across the road. My fish burger was great as were the beef nachos and roast of the day. Wonderful pub, lovely staff.

Service was great and extremely friendly. All meals ordered were good except for the grilled snapper that tasted like it was cooked in/on the same pan/grill as the two steaks we also ordered….. it tasted like steak instead of the anticipated fish that was ordered. One fish lover extremely disappointed.

Overpriced average food and drinks in a place with almost zero ambience and atmosphere. When can we get a genuine pub that sells good reasonably priced pub food and not this pretentious over priced nonsense which is actually ordinary food and very average in taste. Fool me once shame on you - there won't be a second time.

Only had a chicken snitty but was really good , friendly staff and beer was great be back to try a steak or pork steak very soon 😁

Lunch experience. Service is friendly and efficient. Meals are generous servings and very well presented. Dining area can be noisy with parties and groups in attendance. Some sound dampening material would be good. Evening menu looks very interesting and look forward to checking it out.

I could not believe how the 'burger' looked and tasted. And seeing all the other meals coming out of the kitchen. I have to be back here.

Hi Team,
I put an incorrect review earlier. It was meant for another place who did not let us in and so by chance we came across 1880 hotel. The Security officer was really kind. Let us in before we could ask questions saying - go on in. It's too cold to be out at this time. And what a fabulous evening we had. Wickes and Watts was an amazing band and we danced a lot. We also enjoyed that there were really good beer options. Thank you for the memorable night!

Had the 300g rump and my wife had the snapper. The steak was the toughest I have ever had and the snapper tasted like old freezer fish. Very disappointed. Will certainly not go there again.

Had a really nice dinner here while on a work trip. Ordered the salt and pepper calamari and garlic bread for starters, both were really tasty. I also had the macadamia crusted salmon with veggies which was even better, the fish was cooked perfectly and the vegies were tender but not to the point that it became soggy. All round a really friendly place to have dinner at.

Food was terrible. Beef ragu wasn't actually beef ragu, but beef stroganoff with pasta. Beef was gristle and inedible. Chef was also unwilling to make a smaller serve of loaded fries (child friendly version) because it was busy. Definitely do not recommend.

Food was great. Large servings and cooked beautifully. Unfortunately that's where the good ended though. Service was friendly but not efficient. Multiple meals were taken to wrong tables etc. Despite the full order being read back correctly by the order taker, a meal was missed, which happened to be the birthday girls of all luck, and we were then told to go back to the counter and pay before they'd even begin making the meal. Probably most disappointing were the facilities. For a place newly reno'd it was in a poor state. Half the light globes were blown, both M & F toilets stunk and majority of the toilet seats were broken.

Food good. But hard to eat an 1880 schnitzel with NO cutlery. Meals were pre ordered but service very slow. Ran out of cutlery and wine glasses. Our Group booked well ahead and ordered our food week's ahead.

Came for a lunch date and were not dissapointed. Staff were friendly and accommodating, going out of their way to provide good service, particularly the lady behind the bar.
Best pub feed I've had in a long time, highly reccomend.

Ate here last week, the lunch of the day was pork, was dry, the vegs were tasteless, , no seasoning, the gravy was ok.
Unfortunately was booked to eat there that night. Ran out of cutlery and wine glasses, my meal was passable but people around me had cold meals.

Absolutely horrible. There was hair in my food the chicken wings were oily and flavourless the chips were under cooked and the “aioli” was terrible. Asked for a lemonade and was given a sprite lemon. The music was horrible and too loud to hear anyone talk.
