Went there for a birthday party.
Put in private area that catered for about 30 people in comfort. Food was good and arrived in good time.

Went for lunch and had the calamari and hubby had steak. All staff we came across were lovely even picking fresh mint from the garden for my cocktail.

Very disappointed in the lunch here today considering the reviews and the pictures of the food. We ordered our food at 1pm and it took a very long time to arrive. The waitress who just returned from a break, did apologise. The calamari and the fish of the day arrived very brown and was served with a small greasy salad which seemed to be Caesar salad, nothing like the pictures. The calamari although tender had no taste of the promised Lemon Myrtle just the oil it was fried in. The beer was good and the staff friendly but unfortunately we will not return here.

This pub was quite neat and fresh, as if it had been done up. No barflies or ferals on a Sunday arvo, just older folks enjoying food and a beverage. Very good and lots of room.

Table of 3. Great service friendly and welcoming. Food was fresh and tasty . Enjoyed the tasting of their craft beers. Thank-you to Debbie for her hospitality.

Some of the best food in maryborough. They serve their own locally brewed beer, the chef changes up the dessert menu a bit and so far the orange almond cake and cappuccino cheesecake have been standouts. Decor is standard and a nice outdoor area, love that there's no pokies.

Retro hotel, very clean and kitchen looked refurbished with a cool setup to get meals out.
All the staff from the front bar to the restaurant manager were so helpful and hospitable.
The meal servings are substantial, but the taste was spot on.
Also, a hint would be to ask or the sauce on the side in a ramekin.
I will be back to try again and review my comments

Really enjoyed the Cattleman's Steak. Won't need dinner tonight now 🤣🤣🤣
Went for another meal.. (Feb 02) evening meal this time. Pan fried Red Throat Emporer and 350gm Rib Fillet.. very nice. Both cooked excellently. With a pint of the local Pilsner.. perfect 👍
Aircon too. Very comfortable evening.

Meals were absolutely 100% and also good value. If a small eater, definitely bring a doggy bag.
Clean, maybe lacking a little in the outdoor area but once again the food definitely made up for it.
Also a big plus for me as Queenslander was going to a pub with no pokies, felt like the good old days. Throw in a band on Sunday arvos and you've got my younger years.

Maaaaaaaate. This was simply amazing.
I try and be as honest and fair as I possibly can be when reviewing food and restaurants. This review is one of the easiest ones I have had to write.
Amazing.... Simply amazing.
Under new ownership/management...and the food is spectacular.
Tuesday night was a bit quiet, (hopefully it is only a Tuesday thing and people make the effort to give this place a go). I hope everyone treats themselves in the future and make sure the visit and try this awesome food.
Tonight was the aged Rib Fillet (with peppercorn sauce)... And Turkish Chicken.
The steak was amazing and I could have just drunk that peppercorn sauce straight from the jug... Amazing.
The Turkish Chicken was cooked and charred to perfection.
Forget Taco Tuesdays...make it Aussie Hotel Tuesdays... You won't be disappointed.
Ohhhh.... And there are deserts as well if you feel adventurous.
Apple and Cinnamon infused triffle, and Raspberry and White Chocolate Cheesecake for desert.
Fabulous from first bite to last.
Well done chef ... My complements (and my complements don't come easy).

Lovely meals for our whole group. Service was friendly. The outdoor area had very loud traffic noise at lunch. Nothing a few more beers wouldn’t have deadened but this was a quick lunch to we went inside. Prices were very fair.

I’m blown away , spend a lot of time on the road and eat out a lot when home and bit of a foodie honestly chief got talent …….the best cooked meal I can remember literally- it’s was that good 👍 at any price I’d eat here over a $200 plate restaurant in Sydney , what ever there paying chief it needs to be doubled and I’ve only had 1 beer 🍺 genuinely surprised and shocked 😮

Had lunch with a group of friends. Everyone was happy with their meals. Burgers and Parmigiana’s were all a good size and very tasty. Lovely interior, fabulous service and their locally brewed ginger beer was delicious. Highly recommend and will be back again.

Had a quiet lunch here on a Friday just after midday. The hype is real, amazing steaks. Possibly the best I've ever had.

Food was fantastic and will priced. Service was prompt and cheerful. Not a lot of atmosphere as it was a quiet night. No music playing in the dining room.

calender. Presentation of food, flavour of food, follow up service, a 🍺 local brewed beer, sweets and coffee. The hosts at the Australian were so welcoming and professional. A labour of ♡ , open and final fit out still in progress I believe...just what Maryborough has needed. Thankyou.. great atmosphere in the outdoor garden.
