We returned to The Barn Steakhouse after a beautiful night some time back. Again it did not disappoint. The food is magnificent and we were looked after by the delightful Kay who was highly professional with a cheeky sense of humour that really made us laugh. We will be back

Went to steakhouse not Accommodation the staff were amazing the porterhouse steak was ok it wasn't amazing the Fat Boy chips with Aioli on the other hand WAS Amazing.
The Atmosphere was so relaxing and beautiful

We loved our stay there. Room was nice and clean. Bed was very comfortable.
Parking and fitness centre available for free.
The Barn is located in rural area which is quiet and peaceful. It isn't too far from the town centre and the blue lake.
Service offered is great.
Option to eat at the restaurant The Barn Steackhouse but booking essential.

We have eaten at the steak house before but this was our first time in the rooms. We stayed in two rooms, the basic queen room on night one and the king spa suite on night two. Both rooms were well equipped and exceeded my expectations. The location is great and feels kind of exclusive and private. The staff were also great a d actually called me by my name.
We look forward to coming back!

Very quiet, can't hear the cars from the other rooms. Friendly service, clean. Beautiful garden view from the room, very nice garden in general. Gym available.

This is a beautiful place to stay. Gardens are gorgeous and peaceful. The food is exceptional, one of the best steaks I have eaten the staff are friendly and very good at their jobs. No pokies everyone in our group socialised and stayed at the table Highly recommend

The rooms are absolutely gorgeous! everything was top notch! I stayed in the room with spa bath and that was fantastic. The bed and pillows were super comfortable it was like sleeping on a cloud. Highly recommend staying here for a romantic weekend away 10/10

There room was amazing, had everything you need. I also love when accommodation has good quality bathroom products which they provide. The grounds are stunning.

The Barn Steakhouse was a complete culinary experience. I was dining by myself and the service I received was top shelf. It was attentive and friendly with all team members moving with purpose. ||The steak ( Fillet Mignon) was simply next level. The steak was cooked to perfection. The serve was plentiful and all the food elements on the plate went well together. I was content and more than satisfied, no dessert required. ||This would have to be one of my favourite dining experiences where the entire team worked like a well oiled machine. This combined with country friendliness and a professional yet 'laid back' service style makes for an amazing dining experience. ||Well done 'The Barn' .

The Barn Hotel and Steak 🥩 house is around 10 Minutes out of Mount Gambier town, we arrived there from Port Fairy and had booked a 1 bed room / suite.||We choose to stay here on our Road trip for 1 night, and also eat at the barn steak restaurant, as apparently the food is to die for.||On arrival we were greeted by a very friendly receptionist who explained where our room was and how to get to it, a couple of minutes drive away to a row of converted barns.||The terraced apartment was very spacious, clean and fresh, it had all we needed for a short stay, very comfortable bed, ample room, a medium size fridge. Free parking was right outside.||The bathroom comprised of both bath and walk in rain shower with ample toiletries. Outside was a small garden area with seating.||Back in the main building there was a small comfortable bar area which lead on to the restaurant. ||The menu is dominated with various steak 🥩 dish’s, we choose to avoid starters as looking at the plates of the other dinners we certainly wouldn’t have done justice to the main meal.||This came up excellently presented, the steak 🥩 I had was probably the best I had ever eaten.||It’s not cheap, nor is it too expensive either compared to the food dished up in the UK. If I lived within 50 miles of this place it would most definitely be a restaurant I would frequent at least once a month.

The Barn accommodation is nothing short of superb. Huge, quiet and well appointed rooms, with magnificent gardens and grounds. The on-site steakhouse is also 5 star, with a really nice ambience and friendly, highly trained staff. Thoroughly recommend!!

The accommodation at The Barn never disappoints. Located just a few minutes outside Mount Gambier, the buildings, gardens & ammenities at this large site are simply second to none.||Peaceful & quiet, there is plenty of space, loads of parking and you are just a few minutes from everything that The Mount has to offer.||Last night we stayed in the premier king suites: large, secluded with a semi private patio area surrounded by well maintained gardens and a very comfortable, large bath.

Stayed 2 nights as family of 2adults 2kids in the premier king suite with amazing garden views. Allocated parking just right outside the room. Has bathtub and seperate shower. King bed and sofa bed, blackout curtains. Foxtel and fast NBN internet wifi. Complimentary tea&coffee. Has fridge and minibar too. Highly recommended. Has playground and tennis court. Very tranquil and waking up to just birds singing outside the room is very pleasant. Just about 10mins quick drive to mount Gambier city centre.
Breakfast is very reasonably priced! And you have the option of having breakfast sent to your room no extra charge.

Reserved a room with a patio, and it was worth the extra money. The gardens were beautifully maintained with roses everywhere. It was so relaxing sitting outside listening to all the birds. Unfortunately I was unable to utilise the gym facilities (I hadn't packed the necessary attire) but I did have a look, and it was well equipped for the space available.

Positives:
- beautiful gardens and scenery
- mostly clean and tidy rooms
- friendly staff
- foxtel with movies
- comfortable spacious beds
Additional comments:
- room was clean and tidy, however had a slight smell. May be coming from the drain in bathroom or carpet.
- we ate at the steak house restaurant both nights, had a few issues with how the steaks were cooked and we were also missing items from our orders. They did fix the mistakes immediately and were very apologetic.

My partner and I stayed at the standard queen room with a garden view for 3 nights. The room looked so cozy and clean. You can park your car out at the front of your room. Also the barn has a late ish check in time (~9-10pm) which worked really well for us while travelling from Adelaide after work. They have a very nice garden to walk around and fabulous restaurant for dine in. The barn is definitely the best place to stay at at Mt Gambier. On the side note, they have a small gym for people who want to be active during their stays. They have a few cardio machines and some weights and cables.

Last year we had an evening meal here and, due to having to drive an hour or so home on country roads I chose not to drink any wine. So this year we stayed overnight and had a fabulous time. When they said a Premier King, they meant 'Premier'; the room was huge with a fantastic bed and large ensuite. Check in was easy and once we had settled into our room it was a nice walk back to reception and into the Piano Bar to enjoy the ambiance over a cocktail before going in to the restaurant for dinner. I had the special steak after confirming it was gluten free (I am coeliac and need to avoid gluten at all costs). The staff were very helpful and clearly understood my needs and I enjoyed one of the best steaks I've eaten in years; it melted in my mouth. I also had a desert (gluten free of course) and really enjoyed the wine (a local Pino Noir), not needing to worry about safe driving. The next morning we enjoyed breakfast in the 'Engine Room' and again my Gluten Free requirement was carefully looked after. I have no doubt we will be doing this again in the future.

Good and budget accommodation. Rooms were clean and spacious, the property is very big, they have in-house restaurant as well as gym. I booked the dulex King premium room, which had a spa bath, which works fine as well. Was happy with the room, service, and overall experience. They do little bit of house keeping like replenishing refreshment, I was soo happy to see my bed made after a tiring day and the best part is we did not request that, they did it when they came in for little bit clean up.
Would recommend booking this property!!

For a real country feel, you will thoroughly enjoy your stay at The Barn Accommodation! Our stay here was really nice & relaxing. We stayed in the three bedroom house, on site. It pays to get your own milk, salt & pepper, etc. There's a variety of teas & coffee sachets in the kitchen & room service available.
The breathtakingly beautiful gardens & views are spectacular. There is also a very interesting historical background, which is well worth finding out about. Many celebrities have visited & stayed at The Barn over many decades. The photo gallery is well worth checking out. It will take time to view & fully appreciate them all!
The service is exceptional & our dining experience was first class! Thoroughly recommend staying here. Thank you to all the staff for our wonderful stay!

Food amazing, service impeccable, worth the price, beautiful restaurant. So enjoyed our experience. Bar staff nailed the special request cocktail & tolerated our excited children. Steak was heavenly every bite. The wait staff were super quick & attentive bringing a drink as soon as I finished. Gorgeous bar & restaurant. Lovely staff. I was hoping for live music from the piano. But everything else surpassed by expectations.

Fabulous stay and price is reasonable. Plenty of food options within 10 minutes drive. Definitely nice being outside of Mt Gambier too.

Beautiful setting in lovely garden but fair way out of Mount Gambier.(my gps did not recognize the road) .|Our room clean and comfortable nice outlook over garden. Soundproofing between rooms not very good we could clearly hear shower and tv from adjoining rooms. Tea and coffee facilities provided . Breakfast menu.

Beautiful gardens, clean rooms but quite small inside. Quite a bit of a drive away from Mt Gambier and on the main road so quite a bit of traffic noise at night with the trucks. The room doesn't have a microwave or any extra amenities besides a kettle so you have no choice but to eat in the restaurant or drive back into town.

A one night stopover on route to kangeroo island. We ate in the restaurant for our evening meal and found the food and service to be excellent, however the room we stayed in lets the place down, paper thin walls combined with rude and noisy neighbours. Room was very basic, the breakfast was fine. Wouldn’t stay here again.

A dream place!! Make sure you ask for a room VERY FAR from the road as it can be noisy. Our room was very big and so comfortable and dark at night. The bed was a dream: I spelt so well both nights. The room had a little lounge to relax overlooking the beautiful gardens, with roses everywhere. The room had also a small dining table with 2 chairs, a tv and a mini bar with LOTS of drinks. Try their bubbly, it is very nice. The bathroom was light and very clean, well appointed with a bath and a separate shower. Outside, there was a table with 2 chairs, very relaxing. Loved this place very much.

Accommodation was nice in a lovely gardened property. All staff were very friendly, welcoming and helpful. Steak house dinner (800g rump and chicken dish) was delicious and drinks in Piano bar beforehand was lovely too. Really good little gym onsite was a nice touch. Bit disappointed in room service breakfast, but breakfast in dining room was good. Overall, very good experience, would be happy to return.

Absolutely beautiful, you could not fault this accommodation. Stunning rooms, comfortable bed the rooms are so clean and fresh. The gardens are amazing, really pretty. We loved staying here.
