Wow. Couldn't believe how awesome this pub was.
Went there two nights in a row because it was so good! Delicious, perfectly cooked meals with great presentation, excellent service, and beautiful renovations. Better than most major city gastro pubs. Highly recommend!

Where do i start. Had to wait in line for half an hour at least to order a meal, only one young girl taking orders, then the other two standing around decided to help the poor girl. Even had time to drink a pint and chat with other people. She did tell me that it would be 40 minute wait for food. I accepted that even though it didn't look that busy and we were walk ins. Well around 75 minutes after ordering one of us went up and saw the staff, after 90 minutes i went up and talked to the manager. Asked where our food was and if it was possible to get our money back. She raced off and around 10 minutes later our food arrived. Now i don't know if it's an employer thing where they don't want to employ enough people in the kitchen, but out of the 4 people in the kitchen, only one looked like he knew what he was doing. Or the young manager was out of her depth, and sinking without support from her crew. We were not the only ones to wait a long time for food as well. Service is not up to were it should be. Personally, I'd give this place a miss and try the Astra over the road.

We LOVED it here! Definitely have dinner or drinks here. We got the tomahawk steak to share between 2 of us and it was delicious! Staff were super friendly and the cocktails were reasonable and tasted great!

We came here on a Friday night and ordered our food. Shortly, after we were informed that the food would come out in 40 minutes. The food was very average. We ordered the chicken schnitzel and fish and chips with half a dozen oysters. To surprise the Coffin Bay oysters were fresh. The bartender was very nice that was serving us.

We are here a few times when we were in broken hill and really enjoyed it. The food was nice, the selection on offer suited us all and the service was great.

Walked in on Sunday night staff were friendly and courteous. Got told at time of order could be an hour wait which was fine. The garlic came out and was delicious the came out about 40 minutes after ordering and were delicious.

Very comfortable ambience on a Sunday when Broken Hill was without electricity, we were able to indulge in a delicious lunch with the pub's generator running.
Linguine with salmon and spinach, grilled chicken burger, chicken schnitzel and fish and chips.
All were excellent especially the grilled chicken burger which was specially delicious, and so was the fish and chips and schnitzel. The salmon pasta was nice but average.

This pub has undergone a decent renovation recently and has a great bar and even better dining area with a great outdoor eating area. They do pizzas, great slow cooked meat platters and slow cooked meat burgers that have to be tried.

This place is amazing. It has a Restaurant feel and look with a friendly pub atmosphere. The prices are a little higher but service is impeccable, food quality, taste and presentation are superb. The chefs know their food combinations. Drinks are well priced with a good selection. Enjoy

This place has a fresh delicious battered whiting fish with chips and salad for lunch, must try! They have a really good & fresh chicken parmy love it👌. The garlic bread is ok, the pad Thai is alright, seasoned but very dry, the prawns are skinny, the smoked chicken wings are very bad, and the pulled pork burger is average not moist and flavourful, the chicken schnitzel is ok but moist. Comfortable sitting, nice atmosphere, good service and friendly staff, thanks guys😁👍✌️. Recommended here

This is my pub away from home!!
We drove 1000km and are so happy to have discovered this place, the drinks are great, the food amazing, the staff brilliant and super friendly....remembered our order after our first visit, a positive sign of great management.
We ate lunch here twice. Our girls are 11 and 12 so usually a kids meal is too small for them, that wasn't the case here (although they did throw on extra chips). We took home leftovers of the korean stirfry and that was from the half serve option, I can't imagine the full serve size!
Chicken schnitzels are huge, juicy and delicious as was the chicken parmigiana.
I cannot compliment the staff enough from management down, they are all there to make sure you have the most laid back enjoyable time. We never felt like we were outsiders/tourists even though we were.
Next time we trek back this way we'll definitely be back to visit our local away from home.

They have done a great job modernising this pub on the inside while keeping the outside in character. The staff were very helpful, the food was nice but it is pretty expensive for a pub meal.

The dish I ordered for dinner, upsetting my stomach and giving me diahorrea. Dined with 8 others,other customers were not happy with there meal either, who pays $7 for a cookie for dessert. Take your money and dine at the Astra better quality of meal and service. And worth the xtra $$.

The best meal I had in Broken Hill - salmon cooked to perfection. We were a large group and the staff were fantastic - very organised and friendly, nothing too much trouble. Thank you

The beer garden is modern with cool architecture, the building is old and the toilets were spotless. It's a pub with badly half pub vibe.
We only had beer and nibbles. Nice place.

Some of the best food in town. I was surprised they served one (seemingly random) Filipino dish - crispy beef kare kare. It was absolutely delicious! It won't be served home style by your ma (it is served meticulously and gorgeous), but it definitely brings back some good memories; I grew up having these with the family. Highly recommend it to anyone who hasn't had Filipino food before.
I also tried their garlic bread, squid, and beef schnitty with mushroom sauce. Top quality food and great service from staff.

Not your typical country pub! Fabulously renovated with great ambience and a variety of areas (beer garden, cosy front bar, dining room). Really creative menu and great tasting meals. We enjoyed an afternoon here with the charcuterie board and a bottle of red wine followed by the duck pappardelle and cheesy garlic bread in the evening. Super friendly and attentive staff too. We’ll be back when travelling through next time.

Had our best pub meals EVER at this pub (and we sample quite few pubs in our travels). Service was amazing, and grub was great. Well done, The Broken Hill Pub - we'll be back!

Excellent, perfectly cooked steaks. Wait staff in the bistro and main bar were extremely friendly and helpful.
Great atmosphere to top it all off. Highly recommended.

Dinner for four 23 Dec 2020. Beautiful architectured renovation with fabulous beer garden. Well presented delicious meals, quality produce and professional service. Angus sirloin cooked perfectly (MR). Generous portion of freshly grilled barramundi very nice. Side of hot chips 10/10. Minor negative was that the panko chicken schnitzel was a little dry. Overall very good experience and definitely recommend this venue in Broken Hill.

Beer garden is ideal spot for lunch or an afternoon beverage with friends serviced by staff that understand what hospitality is all about.

Awesome modern interior pub with front bar, beer garden and restaurant area. Meals are fantastic, high quality (crispy pork belly, and slow cooked beef cheeks), and service is friendly and quick. Easily the best pub in Broken Hill. PS Thank you for the Australia Day decorations and festivities.
