We stopped in for dinner, I am glad we picked this place. We tried the beef burger and fish and chips both more than met our expectations. It was a cold evening, the bar and dining room were warm, staff were friendly we would definitely return when back in Canberra.

Went for a family dinner here on holiday. The food was possibly the best pub food I have eaten. The chicken was perfect, the steak cooked exactly how I like it, and all at a reasonable price. It also looked quite fancy inside which the kids absolutely loved! Would definitely come back again.

Well I have never been too a bar. Too be refused service too order Jamieson Neat or on rocks. Only items that can be done is top shelf.. In hospitality industry you find out all the wrongs and rights of who live by tradition. Civic Pub. The Name is Traditional. The Pub is too.. So is the Service.. But Too take A gentleman or Ladys Traditional Drink Choice Away. You should be Called Un Traditional Pub Of Civic.

Very pleased. Never disappoints :)
Great service and environment.
Highly recommend the full pot of mussels.
Seafood pasta is awesome too.
Meals from "The Grill" menu is also our food-hunting troop's favourite ^_^

Very good, value for money, we enjoyed our meals. The food and service was great. Pets are allowed.I ordered food for my dog and he liked it too, but he left the veggies.

This place is awesome!!! Massive tree out the front that shades out the sun but creates a magnificent environment to chill , eat sensational food and soak up the ambience. Food is top class , very well priced and honestly the service is phenomenal.... Meals served quick and the clean up is even more impressive which makes for a very comfortable casual environment. This pub is absolutely a must visit , it's totally top class .

The pub has had a gorgeous face lift! It reminds me of my father's study with solid furniture and the bookshelves/wall effects.
Pokies are now upstairs. The main pool hall is being renovated but you can still play a game in the side room. Lovely Fat Yak beer mascot over the fire place and stellar service.

Shout out to the great service and food in the middle of Summernats. We booked a 7:30 pm spot on Thursday and the pub was packed. We were seated straight away and after we ordered our food (table of 4 with seperate orders) it came out all together shortly thereafter hot and delicious. Very happy campers

Old world atmosphere reminds me of my old mans house, beer is cold, staff are friendly and the food is superb. What more could you want from a pub.

Great spot. Had 2 visits within 3 days. Nice cold beer for hubby and a red wine for me, plus some good food 👏

Great pub and a good atmosphere. Lighting was well done for those who don't like the bright lights. Outdoor seating was plentiful .

great pub and accommodation. probably oldest venue in ACT. gives you a glimpse of the fast changing fast growing city of Canberra. Good food / wine or beverage options. I have to say... I miss the cook your own Steaks etc. was really good meat available, great salad bar choices.. but Time goes on and places change.. maybe the soul has gone.

Great place for a drink with friends. They have a decent selection of drinks and a great atmosphere both inside and outside. Overall a nice place to have a drink and hang out with friends.

Good pub in Central location on Braddon.
Good food menu with a lot of pub fare.
Dining room can get noisy.
One of the few pubs that still has pool tables, 6 I think.

Good location, great for a catch up with friends. Does get busy on weekends. Recommend booking a table if you can.

Generally a good atmosphere, can be very packed at times, parking can be difficult. There is plenty of seating options including couches and the option to dine indoors or outdoors. Heaps of pool tables and a few pokies. Food is good and reasonably priced, gets served quickly.

Food was pretty good and the steaks were cooked to perfection. Pint of beer a little on the deep pocket side.

Excellent service. Table of 14's food came out quickly and was cooked well. Steaks were done right. Opening a tab was easy and painless. The staff were polite and helpful. Between food and drinks for 3 hours we just went over $1k.

Depth is how I would describe the food and beverage here. The Carlton Draught, supplied by on-site special tank that is viewable from the dining area with copper lines presented an aftertaste of malted barley and roasted caramel. The steak…black Angus…more like black delicious. Thanks, Civic! - the laman

By far the best pub food I have experienced. My wife had a superbly cooked steak and mash dinner, and my lamb shank and mash is the best I have ever tasted. The pub itself is cosy and welcoming on a cold winter’s evening. Drinks and food are reasonably priced, you will not be disappointed.

Been here on a few occasions and I can't fault it. Highly recommend the Civic for being a pub where you can relax in a tee shirt or full formal... brilliant.

Absolutely excellent. Had the Coq Au Vin and the grilled salmon 10/10. Could not fault a thing. Well priced food, well priced wine list. Brilliant service and location.

$17 for a pint and $21 for a tiny stale nachos with burnt cheese and processed guacamole.
Service was friendly, but will absolutely not be back.
