Worst seafood chowder ever, never had such a bad experience eating out. water glasses were dirty, staff cleaning tables just flicked food scraps onto floor.

We only went in for a meal.
The dining area is in a section separated from the main bar. Tastefully decorated and lots of seating.
Food was delicious and fresh.
Thought we were hungrier than we were so had an entree and main which was way too much. An entree each and a shared main would have been plenty.
I had garlic prawns, 6 huge king prawns on a bed of rice with some shredded carrot and a bowl of like aioli which wasn’t really needed. So fresh and cooked to perfection. Then a rectangle shaped seafood pizza served on a wooden board it just needed to be cooked a little longer as it was a little soft and limpish. Other than that delicious. Had to get most of it packed in a box because I ordered too much.
My Hubbie had 6 chicken wings with a choice of 3 sauces he had the honey soy then had the main of s&p calamari with fries and a small salad. The calamari pieces were quite large and I was surprised they were so tender.
Will be going back again once we move here in July to try a different meal next time it was

Went here for dinner. Service was excellent. Food was great. The staff in the Bistro were friendly and helpful. The food was nice and hot. The staff at the drinks bar were also friendly and helpful. This is one place that my wife and I will be back to, next time we're back in Coffs Harbour.

Well well, where to start…. Rooms that are for rent to stay in are not cleaned as you would think. The staff they’re good people but the manager and owners are very much the opposite and have numerous times caused health risks to staff and cleaners through poor communication.
The dance floor upstairs gets trashed on Saturday night and has to be hosed down with an actual fire hose, the drinks are expensive but water down with ice!
Also, this is a cops pub aka the local cops hangout here soo to be aware if you go to this pub your private life will be snooped on

We had a function upstairs in the bar and balcony area. It was a perfect venue and the staff were amazing. The food we ordered was also amazing. Thank you

Travelling through, we googled where to stop for good pub grub. We were pleasantly surprised, even though reviews were good. Daina was an excellent waitress. She looked after us perfectly! The food was superb! Fresh, tasty, and generous portions served in a pristinely clean environment. We will be back next time we are travelling through.

Stopped here for dinner while driving through. Food was amazing and super fresh. Bistro and restrooms extremely clean for a Friday. Would definitely stop here again.

Ok so l know lve got bad taste...
I like XXXX Gold (but not out of the tap) and l like raw onion.
So, lve become an orphan Recently cause my wife kicked me out. so have booked into a lovely motel nearby.
Went to the Coast hotel yesterday bout 4pm and asked for two stubbies of XXXX Gold over the counter...sure... great service but was charged $20.... ok will know better next time me thinks.
Next day felt like a steak for lunch so went back and asked for scotch fillet 300g for $45... but could l please have some raw onion on the side? Lovely girl turns round and asks chef who says no.
So l left...after having a schooner of XXX GOLD from the tap & complementing the lady behind the bar for her cheerful service.
But l mean you wanna charge $149 a killo for your scotch fillet but o'l mate chef can't even cut up a bit of raw onion on the side for a fussy customer??!!
p.s there were two people eating in the dining room and 3 couples in the beer garden..... hardly warranting the too busy excuse.
Please note l don't do many review's....only when l think it truely necessary as lve run a retail business for 23 years and would like to think l know a tiny little bit about customer service.

Not a great experience. 1st time at this venue, I walk into bathroom while texting on phone, someone had spewed all over toilet and floor and I stand in it. It's probably still there. If you make it to toilet at least get it in the bowl or tell someone you made a mess. Gross!! Onto food.. I asked if chicken nibblies had bones. Was assured they were boneless. Onto receiving said food. They were wings. Plastered in sauce. Definitely not what I was told upon ordering. Onto main, I order a steak medium which came out very well done and plastered in sauce which I didn't order. And above all else served on top of everything else on plate. Who does that? The first thing you need to do is pull the sauce soaked steak off all the other food, otherwise cut into it and squash everything else into a puree. Chef, your not serving food to a over 95 retirement home.....unreal experience. I wouldn't eat here for free. I value my insides way to much. Never again. If people accept this as normal you've clearly never been to a good place that serves normal everyday food to customers in a form thats not great. I mean I like sauce as much as the next bloke but did the top fall off the bottle ?? I'm not one to send food back but I know people that would have sent the table and chairs by airmail into the kitchen.

Last night I had the pork cutlet and my husband had the ribs. Both meals fabulous. Never tasted such a tender pork cutlet. The large plate of ribs could have been shared between us, but my husband devoured the lot. We will eat there again tonight. Waitress taking the orders was so sweet and friendly. Definitely recommend this Hotel.

Just called in for a feed and was told the menu was new. I had the curry and my wife had the chowder. Both excellent. Couldn’t fault them. The staff were fantastic. Friendly and helpful. Definitely worth a repeat visit.

I like the food that is served here, but I do not like how the bar staff carry themselves. It's inappropriate and rude, I've also messaged the coast on facebook messenger and have failed to reply to me which is just greatly pigheaded 🐖 extremely rude and inappropriate. Bar staff 🍸 need to be polite to patrons just like a patron needs to be polite to bar staff that's all. This should be a learning experience if the coast hotel can't simply reply to a customer telling them something which is fully necessary. It's inappropriate just full inappropriate and disgraceful.

I just want to say what a great little pub this place is. Friendly staff, lovely decor, comfortable and relaxed.
I'd forgotten to have lunch, so was ready for a good feed after 6 hours on the road... I went all out and got the Cowboy Special; Steak, Ribs, and Wings. I was surprised how much I managed to finish - the only leftovers were some of the wings, that were just as good cold, as they were hot. Every customer I overheard complimented the food, not just me.
Prices comparative with Sydney, but so was the service and quality of the food.

I ate here only. The poor young lady running the bistro was lovely. The chef, a typical chef, rude and taking his dislike for his chosen vacation on the young lady and then me.
I asked politely for a simple addition to my meal, not a massive change , just some pineapple on my chosen pizza.
If they didn't have it, fine but it was an option on the other pizza. I digress, it's not about the pineapple.
The young lady didn't know where to look when he screamed at her, in front of me, about my outrageous request.
The food was good, the grumpy chef, not so good, not a great draw card to bring me back.

Great service. Steaks have great bbq smokey flavour, nice wines, great chips!! I'd like a grilled fish option on the menu rather than beer battered/deep fried.

Grabbed a $26 steak and it was pretty good, lots of salad and a good amount t of chips. It was cooked exactly as asked which was great. Venue was roomy enough and it was in end of may, so I imagine it would get busier at peak times, but was pretty quiet while I was there which was nice. Good selection of beers and the staff were very friendly

Got the lunch steak and less than 50% was edible. Loaded with gristle and fat. Got the feeling they have a lot of complaints as the servers said 'no that's ok, sorry about that' when I said I really didn't enjoy it. Defo try Plantation instead!

Girls in service were very nice. Ribs were dry and incredibly tough. No self respecting chef would ever serve that. What a disgrace.

First timer to this fine establishment. Service from the staff was fantastic.
The food from the dining room was spot on👌
I can be a fussy diner but everything was perfect.
Best way to finish off a 12hr drive from Sydney-despite this being a stopover on a longer drive north.
Definitely will be coming back on the trip back south 👌

Can only speak to the bar, which was great! Bartenders are so friendly and the space up the stairs is a chill outdoors/indoors vibe big enough for large groups but intimate enough for smaller parties.

Been here a few times and the food has always been top notch but apparently they have a new chef and wasn't a fan the Bread & dips wasn't that great. Duck spring rolls were nice but the Crispy Pork Belly wasn't crispy - more like rubber and didn't have a nice flavour. It's a shame I'll have to find another spot for dinner in future

Bar manager/bartender katie is an asset to this establishment. As a traveller from over 400km away, i was made to feel like a local from my first schooner. Amazing food, cold beer, pool tables that roll straight, great TAB and pokies. Plus katie😍 Definitely would give 6 stars if possible!

An amazing time great atmosphere people were friendly staff were awesome I was even able to flirt with the front desk to get a few of the boys in a bit cheaper how much appreciated it we had an awesome time and we'd becoming back next time we're on the coast security staff will awesome helpful unfortunately we saw a check take out some bloke and the security staff could not have done a more to assist everyone that was involved take a tell that it wasn't something serious and that alcohol was involved and then needed to separate the two but not to cause the same it was good to see security staff not acting with their muscles but acting with their brains. Coast me the boys are coming back and we're coming back harder next time so thanks heaps for the great time and we'll see you next time
