What a great place to celebrate! We had my sons 18th here. The service was above & beyond & the food was delicious but my favourite part was the ambiance the live musician brought to the evening. Magic!

We often go to the Commonwealth for the and the kids love the equipment. Unfortunately the last three times the service has been disgraceful. None of the meals come out together and the wait times have been excess of 1hr, including nuggets and chips for the kids! Further half of the menu wasn’t available on our last booking, leaving very little choice.

We called up for a last minute booking and they found us space for the 6 of us. So easy to order the meals on their app at the table. And fair price on beers. Great selection of craft and mainstream beer as well.

We booked a big family birthday meal at the Commonwealth Hotel. We were very grateful and appreciative of the quality service and assistance we received with expanding our tables and assisting with our birthday celebrations. The atmosphere here was electric! Great music, food was lovely and the kids extremely happy with the play area and as the outside area is quite large we bumped into many familiar faces which made it a great catch up with friends. Good vibes and times had by all and we will definitely be returning more often. ⭐️

The food was excellent. Whilst you can order traditional pub food it was fantastic to order food that was resturant choice and quality. The service was slow but improved once you opened up the garden bar. Maybe open a little earlier to catch that initial rush. My first time here and loved it, would recommend it but book, i will be coming again maybe for breakfast. Hubby loved the boutique beers. Well done a great afternoon.

Scallops are amazing, lovely atmosphere, live music, the guitarist on today is really good. Playground, pool for kids.
Definitely will be back.

Our meal was great. Service so friendly! Great amazing playground for kids.
My husband took photos to show others & plenty of parking . Meal prices were average.

One of the only places in Townsville where the food is consistently good; when you sit down to eat, you know what quality you are getting. The live music is lovely and the venue itself has a lot of character. I would also recommend it if you are booking for a large party, as there a long tables available.

Had a nice meal with my friends at commonwealth hotel and got the mussels and fish and chips .
The price was good and had delicious sweet potato fries as well. Would recommend the beer battered fish and chips with the juicy mackerel that was moist and flakey.

Had a 5th birthday party, food was great playground is great and kids love the pool. It’s his place is always the best we have all our birthday’s here every. The Commie is always The Best!!

Great venue for family groups. Live music, good honest pub food and quick service of meals. Plus they have their very own cafe serving great coffee and sweets.

Great service. Helpful and attentive staff. Delicious meals and drinks. Have been here before for breakfast and it was terrific so we came back. We were not disappointed. Highly recommended venue 👍

Great outdoor space, cool and shady. Food was amazing and came out on time. Very easy to deal with and accommodating of special requests. The Commy is like a home away from home. Thanks for making our party a good one :-)

Great food, friendly staff and a lovely family atmosphere. I had my 50th here with friends and family and everyone had a fantastic night. I highly recommend dining here.

Great atmosphere and very accommodating for our son's 4th birthday party for 35+ people. All the kids had a great time in the playground and pool. Will definitely come again!

Fantastic service, great venue; particularly with the kids. Staff were extremely responsive and helpful when booking (and subsequently changing the time) even though we were a large group and during the busy Christmas period. We loved having such great facilities for the kids. Food menu was good. Staff on the day were great. And they’ve put a lot of work into the outdoor area. Think we’ll have all of our functions here!

Couldn't fault a thing! With it being such a busy morning for mother's day you'd expect something a miss but the service, food wait time, food, juices, atmosphere, cleanliness & services were all perfect. There was even mosquito spray & sunscreen provided. It was my family's first visit & i am looking forward to it becoming out new regular restaurant/bar/cafe/breakfast spot!
Menu & cafe choices were excellent with all the favs. There was something for everyone. As a mum of 4 (18mnths-10yrs) i have to give a special mention to the excellent playground. We sat close by and after the kids ate we watched them play happily. There is also a pool for patron's use!!!

Causal, down to earth good pub grub! Made a stop here on a long journey along the Bruce Highway for lunch last week, and it hit the spot just right. It was pretty quiet when I visited, but given the amount of tables, they must get busy in the evenings/weekend nights. Definitely one of the best pubs in the area for a solid meal.

Can't wait to go back. Normally hate eating out there is one token vegan option and it's served with resentment. This place was wonderful there were 7 or 8 vegan options. They even have a vegan chef. And a positive attitude. So if you have vegan friends take them there and show them you care.

Booked here for my daughters 8th birthday from recommendations for a family friendly restaurant and honestly am shocked this place isn't spoken about more.
I made a last minute booking for 6 on a sunday so was expecting some sort of issue or hiccup during the night but the staff were so amazing and accommodating, the atmosphere was great and the venue is gorgeous with a great kids area in full view of the dining area.
The food was incredible, two of us have dietary needs but there was something on the menu for everyone and we all left full and happy and only spent $110 to feed 5 of us which I feel is great value in comparison to most restaurants.
Thank you Commonwealth Hotel, I'll definitely be back 😊

Baby shower/elopement celebration- venue , food & staff were amazing. Nothing was too much trouble & food was out hot & fresh . Live music played while we were there …a great day thanks so much 😊

Amazing place to go . Kids love it almost like a community event everyone seems to gel and get along the dynamics of the old pub are amazing along with the staff the food is over and above amazing the chefs are talented all staff are very customer oriented and go out of there way to make your experience memorable. The owners are some of the nicest business people I have ever come across . I see no need to go to anywhere else now it will be the commonwealth hotel always 10 /10 guys fan - bloody - tastic

Always such a joy to come to the commonwealth. Lovely shaded table near the kids play area so you can watch the kids playing. Never had to wait longer than 30 seconds at the bar. The food is always amazing!

All the staff are great. My wife won a competition run by them that included a room, $100 bar tab & 2 tickets to the Cowboys vs Warriors game. Thank you all for being so friendly and helpful. Also the live music that night was spot on.

11/10. This crew and venue is the best in Townsville for a feed and a brew, away from the dullness of most pubs which allow gambling, the commy does not, allowing the atmosphere to be very family friendly, accommodating & enjoyable for all ages! Always going here when I'm back!
