We often go there, and food is alway ok and reasonably priced , however, yesterday, i decided to treat myself and ordered scotch fillet ($40) and was disappointed by the poor quality of the steak tastless and a bit chewy. if I were them, I d consider perhaps charging a bit more for if needed but having better quality meat. Someone e else had salmon which was dry

We had a wonderful dining experience at The Courtyard! The online booking service was simple. Our table was ready on our arrival and although it was very crowded (we were there for Sunday lunch) we felt very comfortable & our meals were served in very good time. The meals themselves were very good value & delicious! The staff were very efficient & friendly. We would highly recommend this place, many thanks

Lovely atmosphere and friendly staff. This is a good place to have lunch or dinner or have some drinks with your family and friends. I had the beef burger it was a nice big portion. The chips were seasoned well and had the right amount of sauce ratio in the burger. It was delicious. My friend had the Barramundi and loved it. I recommend locals to go here for a bite. I will be back.

Visited for family lunch, drinks bar nearby has limited drink options, more options available at bar near entry/pokies. The food was mostly very good, but Laksa was terrible.

Very impressed with the staff from Alma & Bella in receception to Daisy, in entertainment, for arranging for my husband & I (In a wheelchair) to attend the Killer Queen concert & also booking a table in the Courtyard which was booked out online. We are regulars & have never always had tasty beautifully presented meals. Plenty of variety, good service & all super friendly. Highly recommended.

Impressive Affogato with Tia Maria on the side and substantial amount of ice cream 😍
The Courtyard was fully packed in weekday night hustling bustling like pre COVID. WOW~
Had one of the best fish and chips (crunchy and thin batter) with some beer. Can't go wrong. The burger was good too. I wish they bring back the weekday night specials like they used to.

One of the best RSL club restaurants in my opinion. Used to be my go to place for weekday special dinners and drinks. The steak night was my favourite! The Couryard is spacious and clean, offering usual pub meals in addition to the Asian dishes (dumplings and noodle soups and more!).

Tucked away inside Hornsby RSL is this bustling restaurant. Tasty food, sizable portions, friendly service.

Solid local RSL. Have had a few minor issues with orders over the years, but staff are always happy to fix and are very friendly. Serving portions are good, and there are currently 2 more "craft" style beers on tap.

Service was good..Food is average. The chicken schnitzel was dry and chewy, not recommended.. other dishes were ok.

Sept 23 update : Need to downgrade the food to 2 stars as was served less than fresh fish in the Fish and Chips. Wife then switched to Chicken Ceasar Salad and got dry, tough chicken. My roast lamb was also hard and dry. Not even a pale shadow of what we had before. My bet is there has been a change in the kitchen personnel. Will not be returning.
(before, in early 2023) Traditional club food executed beautifully. Wider range than usual too. Staff generally friendly and helpful. Great for families...

One of my favorite clubs! Great food, friendly staffs and nice atmosphere! They provide both GF & VG options too. Lamb pizza was so tender and crispy! Coffee was soo nice 😍

Nothing special, laksa didn’t taste like laksa but rather tom yum or curry paste soup. Small meat, ingredients and noodle portions for the price (we ordered Chicken laksa and Chicken noodle soup). Beer battered onion rings were okay, aioli felt like bulk sale rather than homemade. I can’t comment on the western food but I did see a couple other mains coming out and the meat portion was small but compensated with large vegetable serves, based on looks alone the schnitty looked mid, but then again I can’t confirm this. In my opinion, there are better food options in Westfield just beside Hornsby train station.
Regarding service, no one greeted us, had to ask thrice (and re-directed) for water as no one seemed to want to help. Self service cutlery, menu, everything apart from food delivery. Also was asking for directions to the Courtyard while walking past the bar, the 2 male service staff were chatting / presumably doing something on the counter system but were pretty disinterested in welcoming us in or guiding us, not even a “how are you”. Even the lady clearing our table went “are you done” and proceeded to clear our tables with no other form of greeting or friendly hello. I don’t believe any service staff were rude but it felt like I was in a game with robots assigned to tasks and absolute 0 interaction skills. I can’t justify paying for a service fee on top of my already expensive meal.
Redeeming points include: great green-filled atmosphere & nice furnishing, sufficient seating for family gatherings, decent service time, relatively clean restaurant. Would be nice for a birthday party as it has a nice scenic view.

It was unexpectedly nice and warm vibe inside unlike outside looks quite grey and sad lol Food was quite nice and staff were friendly. Id come here again for casual catch up with groups, conveniently located at Hornsby area

I must say the service was quick considering how busy they place was. Was happy with the Beer Battered Fish however the Schnitzel was nothing to write home about. Gravy was watery and portion size was underwhelming. Restaurant was cramped and noisy. Mixed feelings about this place.

Horsnby RSL has a couple of places to eat,
The courtyard I find the most relaxing with the best options for dinning.
I went for my birthday dinner with family and they accommodated a table of 8 without any reservation, the staff are kind and the service is fast. The schnitzels are my favourite in the area.
Ps: if you do require a booking you will need ti arrange it the day before. They can fill up quickly later in the week and weekends.

Had problems with online ordering - staff unable to help me. Waited 30 minutes for food- problem with computers in kitchen was the explanation. Food arrives but wrong sides - staff error in kitchen was the explanation. Food arrives, the toughest steak I have ever had. Been going there for years, but not again.

Got the classic steak and chips from the grill. Very big portion and very filling. The atmosphere is very nice as it was busy and nicely decorated. Full of other options including Asian meals.

Good menu options. The food is great quality, being beyond the regular club standard (at least at the time of me writing this). It is good to have the Asian food kitchen to choose from.
But pricier than other local clubs, but quality increase comes with that.

Get there early and grab a seat. If you miss the start of dinner time 6pm you may not get a seat for an hour. Good is excellent for a RSL restaurants. Atmosphere is excellent for sitting back and relaxing. My favourite place is along the booths with view to back (away from the pokie machines). Great place for a coffee too. Just need to be a member to access.

Friendly service and tasty food. I had the roasted vegetable salad with haloumi and it was so big I couldn't finish it!

Food was pretty standard pub food. Steak tends to be overcooked. Good range of beers. Gets crowded on Friday nights and weekends. New capability to order at your table via a QR code, so you don't have to queue.

Food was good, but it was TOO LOUD!
We also had an egg allergy in the group and the staff were unable to find ingredients lists. They told us the chips, listed on vegan meals, have eggs . So be careful if you have an allergy and go there, my daughter left with a stomach ache.

Beautiful, very neat restaurant, unfortunately it used to be much better in terms of its menu, they try to sell something quality on the menu but on the plate is coming something different, overcooked T-bones and fillets etc.
