Work lunch function. The food & service was ok. Its set on the water and inside is well decorated. However the tables are so sticky you don't want to touch them & your shoes stick to the floor. Gives you the feeling that it's not clean. Hard to find, the signage was hard to see, make sure you put your blinker on way before the drive as its on a main road. Reasonable parking.

This was our 2nd visit to The Cove. My husband’s birthday “gift”. Our 1st visit, one year ago, was amazing, all of us were very impressed. I have no idea what went wrong this time. It was such a disappointment. Basic pub grub at restaurant prices. My 92 year old, war veteran father is now unable to eat very much… Being a Saturday lunch the Seniors Menu was unavailable - guessing they don’t want older patrons coming for a meal on the weekends… My sister approached Phoebe & was offered the Kids Menu fish & chips for dad - perfect, or so we thought. So off to the reception area to purchase our meals. Dad’s meal was to come out with the main meals. No it didn’t! It came out with his oysters! Now how on earth can he possibly eat both his cold oysters - which were not nice at all, and then eat a serve of now cold fish & chips straight after! My sister went to complain about the treatment of our dear father, sitting there with no main meal, whilst we had ours! What a debacle! What terrible treatment. What terrible service. Dad did get eventually get his fish & chips with our meals. So on to the meals… Oysters had a unpleasant aftertaste. Fish & chips were passable. Seafood linguine was so disappointing, dry pasta, the sauce was tasteless & minimal. The wagyu burger was tasteless & the bun stale, thinking maybe day old bread. Has there been a change of ownership/management/chefs? To dear Phoebe your understanding & compassion for our father was exemplary. You were & are a refreshing waitress. If I could give 5 stars to just one person it would be you.

The weekly quiz may bring customers in but the quality of food won't keep them. They haven't spared much thought about the customers' comfort here. Providing the bare minimum will return a bare minimum of loyalty. The picture is of a chicken parmagiana, easily the least appealing I have ever had. No garnish, just a plate of chips with a small, dry piece of chicken. Don't come here if you want a meal.

The Cove was wonderful, if you're looking for that slightly special experience, without going over board this is your place. Don't forget it's still a pokies pub, though it's not in your face. I was also pleasantly surprised at the easy nature of the staff, while still giving good service. Always a plus in my mind, especially considering the staffing issues we are currently having. As a side point, smiling the food was a touch better than most restaurants at the same level.

Thank you to all the staff at The Cove on Sunday who helped our celebration of my mums 88th birthday extra special - nothing was too much trouble, from bringing our own cake , the ten phones calls I made prior asking questions and the team member who took our family photo! A truly lovely day - thankyou

Staff were super friendly and managed to squeeze us in for a early lunch. Gluten-free menu and Vegan menu is large and good value. I enjoyed a pub classic Parma. Wife had gluten free calamari. Perfectly cooked and hot to boot! Thanks team we will be back many times for sure!!! 😋😋

On a rare date night with my husband we thought we would give The Cove a try after quite a few years of avoiding. We should have stuck to the original thought that it was rubbish because nothing had changed. On booking I asked for an inside table not on the deck, you can probably guess where we were seated. There were more empty tables than patrons so being busy was no excuse. After being shown to a table by a waitress who just pointed and said "that one" we ordered a Chicken Parma and and a Medium/Well Porterhouse Steak. Wow, an obviously microwaved Parma (was nuclear hot and kept getting hotter as it sat on the plate) my husband was dished what seemed to be a dried, thin slice of meat that was cooked 3 days ago, kept in the fridge and then thrown on a plate. Not a speck of moisture left in the meat. I would not call this a steak but a shoe sole that has seen better days. I would have been better off setting fire to a $100 note, at least we would have been warm.

My friends and I had a delightful time at your establishment yesterday. I had the duck spring Rolls and the Gay Time Dessert. We will be back.

Lunched today with friends for my husbands birthday, wow…..it’s certainly taken a nose dive since our last visit! Service non existent, unfriendly, unhelpful staff, uncomfortably cold room (and our table was right next to a fireplace) zero atmosphere and quite tasteless food. Two of our mains were served so far in advance of the second two they’d finished before we started (a pet hate & no excuse). My roast of the day was literally stone cold and returned to the bar where staff casually asked if I wanted to speak to the manager! No, I’d just like a hot meal please! Returned 10 minutes later with a new hot roast but so doused in tasteless gravy it looked and then tasted miserable. Three meats completely indistinguishable from each other, a dry shell with nothing inside resembling a Yorkshire pudding, stringy beans, hard potatoes…such a disappointment. My husbands lamb shank was hot and tender but also quite tasteless. Our friends both chose the salmon which they said was ok but plating was anything but attractive……I was just too embarrassed to take photos. Desserts included apple crumble, sticky date pudding and pavlova, all of which looked pre packaged and had next to no enjoyable taste….even the ice cream accompaniment was bland! Such a wasted opportunity in a pub that cries out for more with its unique setting on the marina. We’ve been shocked at the decline and won’t be returning.

I ordered mine and my partners meals at 6:46pm, it’s now 8:15pm and we just got our meals in take away containers and we are on our way home so I can go to work. I spoke to multiple waiters as to the location of our food, no one could answer other than ‘it’s on the way’. Absolute lip service. We were patient and waited an hour before asking questions.. my mums meal had come out once, she finished it and it came out again for round two, before ours, what a cluster! When I gave up on the junior wait staff and decided to speak to the manager, she was rude and dismissive. Apparently they had inexperienced staff on. I’d say the fish rots at the head! She didn’t even apologise for the abhorrent service. If I wanted take away, I would have gone to the local fish and chip shop. When I asked for a refund I was told my food was up so they couldn’t refund me… 20 mins later I’m speaking to the manager because my food that was up still hadn’t come out, and she couldn’t have cared less. Go to Macca’s folks, the service will be better and their managers will actually be professional and maybe possess some empathy.

I'm not sure what happened here. This used to be 'the' place for good food. It's always been pricey but you used to get the quality. Real creative dishes like: bloody Mary oysters and giant homemade agnolotti. It's just a basic pub menu now. Its been a while since I was let down to this extent. I would rate it lower but the staff were good. Nothing is worse than asking for med rare steak ($46) and getting it overcooked no pink. Slow cooked lamb ($39)was tough and fatty I doubt the 12 hours. Highlight was mash potatoes 😅 that's when you know something's wrong. Had no mussels or dark and stormy (rum and ginger beer) or specials. It's so sad, such a good rep. I'm hoping it's just a post COVID slump and they can bring the menu back to its former glory. But I guess I'll never know.

I don't think the kitchen can handle the volume of food they have to put out. We had a party of friends and almost without exception none of us was happy with our meals. We were welcomed well on arrival and shown to our table by friendly staff. The table was so sticky that my wife thought that her drink was going to end up in her lap as she had to tug to get it off the table. I had the linguine seafood, the muscles were dried out cold and rubbery, the prawns and spaghetti were the only warm things on the plate, the single piece of fish in the meal was minuscule. The sweet potato chips were soggy and un appetising. The calamari came on a plate of cold soggy chips. The salmon was so over cooked it looked dried out and inedible. If I am to pay restaurant prices I expect restaurant quality food.

Great restaurant was greeted and looked after by a lovely young gentleman named Jack best service I’ve ever received at a restaurant, funny, witty and attentive. The food was good too but would definitely be coming back if Jack was working. As an older fella it was good to feel like the youth understood me. 10/10

Good open dining room. I like the round tables for the groups of 5, 6, 7, ect, this allows the conversation to flow. Suggestion: Place overhead fans into the deck dining room. The Veal Scallopini was hot from the kitchen pass. Tje sauce was slightly split, a little over reduced, good pan flavours. Yes, I would go back.

Food was amazing! Service was good. Staff were pleasant. Atmosphere was ok. Nice to be near the marina but it became quite noisy due to the acoustics. Overall though a very pleasant lunch.

Extremely friendly and accommodating staff and service. Good setting. QR code check in, Covid Vax verification. QR order from your phone at your table. Chicken Schnitzel dish, your average Schnitzel dish. Large portions. Worth the price. The Sri Lankan chicken curry for $28 on the other hand was over inflated in price but nice. The Polanto fries were a good tasty light entree addition.

Celebrated my mums 80th birthday. Fantastic service and seated in the brass room gave it a real private touch. Brayden behind the bar and the team on that day made it a day to remember. Food was great. My mum really enjoyed herself. Awesome experience.

Another spectacular dining experience. The restraunt was clean, hygienic and just had a good atmosphere in general. Staff were friendly and up for a chat. Overlooking a dock, the view was definitely a bonus. The food was amazing. The portion sizes were massive. Couldn't recommend the chicken parmigiana, highly enough. It's massive and is cooked to perfection. The option of chips and vegetable was another big hit. Not many restraunts offer this, but this is definitely a hit from us. Bathrooms were clean and well represented. Overall, can't describe how good the experience was. You will not be let down. Come down and enjoy the experience. I will definitely be back.

Amazing place for some good quality food. sitting outside on the deck comes with heaters and an amazing view of the lake and the houses overlooking the water. only downside is it's busy on weekends and nights that the footy is on so the food takes a little longer to come. and the food is expensive but it's worth it
