Went to one of their wine and dine nights, and the food was amazing. I've never visited this pub before but will definitely go back if that's the level of food their chefs can produce!!

Trivia night is fantastic! I always have the steak. Beautifully cooked with delicious potatoes. Cheesy garlic bread is so good.

The wedges where yummy and there was a good amount of sauce.
Loved how I could order a half size schnitzel!
The sauce was amazing!
Also there was olives in the salad which was a good surprise.
I would come here again.

The staff were amazing!! Older style pub but still a nice atmosphere and food was great! The garlic bread was the BEST ever! Great prices too!

Some dishes are great some are not so great. Quick service for a pub friendly waiters. Love the heritage look and feel.

Pretty happy with our food and service. Was a little slow but definitely made up for it with the value and amazing taste we got in our meals. We had t been for quite a few years and it’s definitely doing well.

Our group had a wonderful day out, we came from Noarlunga by train and lunch at the Criterion and it was beautiful food. And after caught the train home... Thank you for making our day one to remember.

my daughters birthday meal, beef schnitzel, bigger than the plate, and she ate all but an inch. the rest of the family enjoyed their meals as well. thank you to the cook/chef

Lunch , We were the first to order.when the meal came the chips were warm, chicken schnitzel was warm, Dianne sauce was gluggy. My previous meal was there was no better. 25 yrs patron not anymore.

Looks a great pub , very tidy , very pleasant staff , had a pint , will have to go for dinner , menue looks great .

It’s a country pub with good value and some colourful characters to keep everyone entertained. Really good service from all the staff!

I have been to the Criterion a couple of times now, and found the food to be excellent. Always hot, tasty and plenty of it. Would definitely recommend it to family and friends. The staff are also very friendly and make you welcome.

Had a gorgeous lunch at the Criterion today. Stayed for the afternoon because the bar staff were just delightful. Kats amazing customer service skills are second to none.

Great staff, Food and service. I won't order pelican again though. Don't get me wrong it was delicious. But the bill was enormous! All jokes aside it's a great Aussie pub.

Great place to stop driving through town.
Fast, friendly service. Great food. Clean spacious dining room. Clean bathrooms and baby change room. Large train car park directly across the road, not many cars the day we went by and could park their caravans there while we had lunch. Also has an aus post box at the train station. Would visit again!

Good food and atmosphere. While very busy, Erin (our waitress) went out of her way to keep us and the other customers happy and relaxed during our stay. Well done Erin.

Food was fantastic the staff were quite friendly but found one very ignorant and no idea of customer service. Manager was great. I would return back despite the one below average staff member

First time here on a recommendation from a local… we will now be making The Criterion Tavern our go to.
Thank you everyone involved for a very wonderful experience on a Friday night after a long week at work.

Fantastic food, great service Erin was rushed off her feet tonight looking after all the patrons with drinks and table service. Our table found Erin very friendly, polite and good customer service, going over and above on her own. Great job Erin
Also Still very upset with the doors being open to the rowdy front bar winning a meat tray. We pay good money to eat a nice meal in peace but not now

Customer service amazing, great friendly staff, food a delightful meal. Atmosphere is really nice. You get some customers that are loud but that's fine as thats front bars.

Been my regular in gawler for many years for a meal now but unfortunately the last few times I’ve come with my partner we’ve been rather disappointed with our food. If the item on the menu we’ve requested is even available, it comes out very underwhelming. Unfortunately led to us deciding to take a break from the cri for a while.
